This Fanfare is meant to commemorate the Centenary of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan with the events of the first 100 years being represented as echoes of fanfares. The piece begins with a clarion call from the brass, the fanfares of the present culminating in the Maestoso. Then the music becomes more distant, fanfares of the past played by woodwinds and muted brass. The transition brings us back to the present with the return to the full band’s salute to Saskatchewan’s Centennial.

O Come All Ye Faithful Trumpet Trio MTR 0333 4151 Celebrate Christmas with this festive arrangement of A Come, All Ye Faithful for trumpet trio. O Come, All Ye Faithful is one of the most popular of all the Christmas carols. This original arrangement of the carol is majestic and has fanfares in the second verse, announcing the birth of Jesus with great bravado! The first verse introduces the melody in a sostenuto style. There is a modulation to a new key in the second verse, where all the fanfares begin. The last half of the second verse is in a maestoso style. Trumpet Pro Skill Level We put the skill level for O Come, All Ye Faithful at the Trumpet Pro level because of the range and flexibility. The fanfare section is also technical in nature with sixteenth-note arpeggios. Practice Recommendations Most of your practice time should be invested into the fanfare section of the arrangement. We recommend triple tonguing the sixteenth-note triplets with the T-T-K pattern and not T-K-T, for stylistic reasons. We also recommend practicing from Eddie Lewis’ Trumpet Chops Pro book so the first part will present no problems. A few weeks of practice from that book and this arrangement of O Come, All Ye Faithful should be no problem at all. About the Trumpet Pro Skill Level The Trumpet Pro skill level is the fifth skill level in our system. This skill level has exercises and music up to high C. There are many other considerations in this skill level but that is the most obvious. Portrait of Don Quixote won first prize in the Hillcrest Wind Ensemble's 2016 Composition Competition and consists of three continuous sections. The first section represents Don Quixote's heroic deeds. The tempo and style of this section is Maestoso and contains an ostinato and fanfare-type figures. The second section represents ideal love. The lyrical melody and lush harmony of the outer parts speak to internal and external beauty while the middle part reflects the unobtainable ideal. A syncopated third section has Don Quixote fighting imaginary battles with windmills. The windmills are metaphoric for imaginary battles that humans sometime create in their own lives. This section alternates lighter playful ideas that show the frivolousness of some of the battles, with heroic fanfares representing the earnestness of the effort. The score prints on legal size paper and the parts on letter.

Blore Heath 1459 was commissioned by the Audley Brass Band (Staffordshire, UK) in 1998. The Battle of Blore Heath was the first major battle in the War of the Roses. The music sets out to portray the events that took place there in 1459 in which the then Lord Audley, James Tuchet met his demise. The composition is based on material derived from the opening maestoso statement. Fanfare ideas lead on to a march theme that descibes the assembling of both sides at the battlefield. Quicker and more agitated passages ensue portraying two unsucessful assualts by Audley's men. The main battle scene then unfolds during which he, Lord Audley is killed. A touching lament follows his death with solos for Euphonium and Cornet in the works most sensitive section. The original march theme returns in the form of a funeral march and the tempo gradually returns to its original form in an extended coda section before the initial opening statement brings the piece to its conclusion.

It used to be the summer palace of the Minoan Kings, but is also a mystic city of my imagination disclosing all its charms and mysteries throughout the time. From the ancient city itself and the palace with its imaginary king to the ancient necropolis, from the fountain and the medieval castle to the sacred mountain of Jiuchtas. seven images are unfolded in each part of the work. Seven landscapes before a fantastic visitor, who wanders among these imaginary landscapes... The parts: I.
