Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1365118 Composed by Hayley Michelle Aitken, Jin Young Park, and Woo Min Lee. Arranged by Ylan Chu. Contemporary,Hip-Hop,Multicultural,Pop,R & B,World. Score. 6 pages. Ylan Chu #949424. Published by Ylan Chu (A0.1365118). This arrangement of Feel Special (TWICE) is for early-intermediate/intermediate piano. It is written in its original key so that you can play along with the music video. The right hand may be played up an octave for the entire piece to match the vocals (or as written so the hands are closer together). The right hand (RH) has one note at a time; the left hand (LH) has one or two notes at a time. There are some suggested fingers written in the RH when needed. Great as a pedagogical piece for trickier rhythms and coordination between hands.-For more information about the arranger, Dr. Ylan Chu, please visit her website: https://www.ylanchu.comMore resource links can be found here: https://www.ylanchu.com/resourcesThere are complementary ear training, sight reading, music education, and piano videos on YouTube (@ClassicalSqueak).Socials / Links: YouTube: https://youtube.com/@ClassicalSqueak Bandcamp: https://ylanchu.bandcamp.com/ Lessons (online): https://www.ylanchu.com/teaching For more sheet music or to leave a tip, please visit: https://ko-fi.com/classicalsqueak/shop Video index: https://www.ylanchu.com/videoindex

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.915680 Composed by Richard Joseph Barber. Classical,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 4 pages. Barber Music Company #3023247. Published by Barber Music Company (A0.915680). Words by St. Ambrose of Milan (c340–397), tr. by John Henry Newman.Set to music and arranged by Richard Joseph Barber for Rev. Jason Parker, High Country Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, CO.Composer's note:This is a joyous call to prayer (especially morning prayer). The music reminds me of little children skipping with glee under a bright blue morning sky. It needs to be sung with joy in the Lord, Who hears us when we call, forgives our sins, and gives us grace to love Him, keep his commands and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. It should be a wonder morning service anthem, but why not try it in the evening, too, in anticipation of meeting God at the beginning of the next day. The key to the style of this piece is rhythmic vitality. The 6/8 meter should be conducted in two, but singers (and the conductor) must feel the eighth note division of the beat as the composition's energizing rhythmic subtext. After the choir has learned the words, pitches and rhythms of the piece, have them let the text go for awhile, and replace it with the syllable doo for every eighth note value. That is, for every eighth note sing 'doo once; for every quarter note sing it twice; for every dotted quarter note sing it three times, and so on. You will hear some giggling from your singers. That is okay. They will have some fun, and you will hear definite improvement. RJB (barberpianoserv@gmail.com).

Large Ensemble Bass Guitar,Cello,Flute,Maracas,Piano,Triangle,Trombone,Voice,Woodblock - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1518277 By Rebekah M. Sweet. By Rebekah M. Sweet. Arranged by Rebekah M. Sweet. 20th Century,Classical,Folk,New Age,Traditional. 14 pages. Rebekah M. Sweet #1092376. Published by Rebekah M. Sweet (A0.1518277). “The Crow”Score and Instrumentation Explanations “The Crow,” is an Avant Garde piece that plays on musical timbres of instruments to represent sounds, feelings, and animals. Flute-represents a bird’s call.Trombone-carries the sound and theme of the crow throughout the piece.Triangle-is the soft sound of noises in the woods, that are so low that they are often not heard.Maracas-represents the rattlesnake’s rattle when he is disturbed and angry.Wood Blocks-represent the sound of the woodpecker.Bass Guitar-is the background of the piece and sometimes the edgy feeling one gets when walking in (what they thought) was an empty forest.Piano-is the crow’s call.Tenor Voice-is meant to represent a cry in the forest but is only included twice in the piece.Cello-Is also the background music but gives one the feeling of coldness creeping upon them. The piece is meant to be slow, and eerie; maybe to some it sounds spacey. The glissandos for the Bass Guitar are to be played when the guitarist hits the first note and uses a glass cup against the string and slowly move it up and down the string to make a weird vibrato like sound. The glissandos for the Trombone are mainly the echoes of the forest that surround the person. It’s the crow’s call being echoed. The Piano can play with the crow’s call starting out loud then fading or diminishing as it also echoes in the distance. Not to be played too fast. The Flute can get louder as it repeats its lines. The Triangle is soft but not too soft. It must be able to be heard against the other instruments. The Cello may use as much vibrato or screech sounds as it wants with the use of the bow.The Tenor may use as much legato as they want.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1149129 By John Coltrane. By John Coltrane. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Blues,Jazz,Multicultural,Standards,World. 11 pages. Keith Terrett #749258. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.1149129). An arrangement of John Coltrane's classic Equinox for Brass Quintet with optional drum kit. Equinox is a minor blues jazz standard by American jazz saxophone player and composer John Coltrane. Originally released on Coltrane's Sound[ played in C# minor with a slow swing feel. However, it is usually played in the key of C Minor and often covered on the flute Coltrane’s wife Naima named the song Equinox. The equinox occur twice a year, when the tilt of the Earth’s axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the sun. John Coltrane was born on September 23, 1926, the day of the official autumn equinox of that year. The release of Equinox was delayed until 1964 when Atlantic issued the album Coltrane’s Sound. Before he recorded it, Coltrane performed Equinox several times in live venues, including a session with Miles Davis’ rhythm section and at the 1960 Monterey Jazz Festival. Unfortunately, the other Atlantic recordings of Equinox were lost in the 1978 warehouse fire before they were released.Unlike Naima and My Favorite Things, Equinox would not become part of Coltrane's repertoire. Coltrane's attitude in writing Equinox is described by Dr Lewis Porter as Coltrane was a serious blues player and his blues pieces reflect the desire to get back to a primal mood, and away from the emotionally lighter, harmonically more complicated and complex blues of the boppers. Equinox is introduced by McCoy Tyner and Elvin Jones with a Latin rhythmic passage which shifts into the slower tempo of the theme. The composition evokes a sense of mystery. Coltrane then enters on the horn (a tenor), his playing slow and pensive. The theme is repeated for two choruses and then stating the theme twice. He then proceeds with an improvisation of unusual emotional depth - reminiscent of a preacher exhorting his congregation. Elvin Jones make dramatic use of drum rolls and cymbal crashes throughout the song to maintain the sense of mystery. McCoy Tyner comps with a light feel.

Smiling is a fun song for school children with piano accompaniment. Let's all pass on happiness. (better than coronavirus!!)Smiling is infectious, You catch it like the flu. When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too. I walked around the corner And someone saw me grin. And when he smiled I realised I'd passed it on to him. And when he smiled I realised I'd passed it on to him. I thought about the smile And realised it's worth. A single smile like mine Could travel round the earth. So if you feel a smile begin, Don't leave it undetected Just start an epidemic And get the world infected. So if you feel a smile begin, Just get the world infected.Judy Lane was a graduate student at the Royal Academy Of Music in London and studied under Michael Head. She has twice been awarded the Lennox Berkeley Cup in the open composition class at the Oxford Music Festival. Adjudicators/critics have said:- Judy exhibits a flair for setting words to singable melodies and for inventing appropriate moods to suit the context and lyrics Judy's music is like a BREATH OF FRESH AIR 3 score pages - Approx length - 3 minutes.

Harp - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.889431 Composed by Turlough O'carolan. Arranged by Luis Anjos Teixeira. Baroque,Christmas,Concert,Standards. Score. 8 pages. Luis Anjos Teixeira #4731959. Published by Luis Anjos Teixeira (A0.889431). Blind Mary was composed by O`Carolan, it is an irresistible enchanting little piece. In this file there are 3 versions for 3 different sizes of harps. One in F for a big harp, one in Eb for medium size and the one in F for a little 3 oct. lap harp a very similar one to the one that usually O`Carolan used to perform. The melodic bass played with the left hand demands a little bit of coordination but the arrangement is focused in the main melody and is very easy to perform in all this 3 versions. The piece is so beautiful that I recommend it to be played always twice in a row. Some interpretation symbols are used as a performance suggestion. Most of the score is left to the interpretation of the artists involved, particularly the use of fingering. Feel Free to apply in this piece the Art and technic that expresses entirely your individual skills and taste. Have fun! The score was written on Finale. The sound file is the version in Eb for a medium size diatonic harp, it was produced with samplers from Garritan and conceived merely as an audio support for the presentation of the score. Thank you very much for taking your time to read this text and to listen to the file. I hope you have a lot of fun and enjoy the music. Slanja! Luis Anjos Teixeira O` Carolan lived in the 17 century. Known as „The Last Irish Bard, he is an Honored and Beloved Irish composer. He became an itinerante harpist after losing his eyesight to smallpox. Extremely talented, he composed a vast repertoire of music and left also a well known number of real good stories to tell due to his rich temperament, social caracter and spicy sense of humor. Thanks to Claudia Eppelt for the all the Love, the wonderful painting and cover design. Special Thanks to O`Carolan, this arrangement is dedicated to him. And to Stray Dog Nina, Stray Queen Mimi, Carlinhos, Maria Pontinha, Maria Joaninha, Schwarzenegger, Maria Koboldinha. For all Living beings on Earth, for all our Ancestors, Thank You for all of You All Your Love and Compassion. Love Forever.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1142434 Composed by Dalva R. R. Barbosa. Christmas,Classical,Film/TV. Score. 6 pages. Dalva Regina Ribeiro Barbosa #742808. Published by Dalva Regina Ribeiro Barbosa (A0.1142434). This solo piano piece was composed in 2011. It has recently undergone a little review. The piece is a three-part rondó: Part one: In A flat. It presents the fun of preparing the food that will be served and decorating the tree from the point of view of children. There are two small episodes in there, the first being more festive as a dance and the second sweeter almost cantabile. Part two: In f minor. Here we have the point of view of an adult immersing in their childhood imaginary. Although this adult may be surrounded by children, grandchildren, and aggregates, in this moment of abstraction, they feel lonely, longing for memories. A more melodic theme is presented twice, but there is a filling with little tension marked by internal conflict. Part three: Return to the themes in A flat (part 1) showing the moment of delivery of gifts and family moments.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1089807 Composed by Fred Ebb and John Kander. Arranged by David Lee Gingras and John E. Dosher. Broadway,Jazz,Musical/Show. Score. 4 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #694019. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1089807). Maybe This Time is a song written by John Kander and Fred Ebb for actress Kaye Ballard. It was later included in the 1972 film Cabaret, where it is sung by the character Sally Bowles, played by Liza Minnelli. It had already been recorded and released twice, in similar arrangements, on Minnelli's debut studio album Liza! Liza! (1964), and subsequently New Feelin' (1970), but it turned into a traditional pop standard after its 1972 inclusion in Cabaret. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in many of our arrangements. We also added some interesting left-hand fills to keep the rhythm flowing! We hope you like what we've done with the song!

The simplicity of the lyrics of this carol, an adaptation of a Polish lullaby, Lulajze Jesuniu is coupled with a simplicity of form and melody in this beautiful, elegant setting. The harmonic lines, moving largely by step, can be easily learnt by choir. This short piece can be extended by singing it through twice. A suggestion is to have a cantor sing the first verse, followed by unison choir (or section) singing the second verse, and then repeat the entire piece using the SATB harmonization and the addition of descant in the final verse. If desired, the descant line can be played on any C instrument.

Piano,Viola - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548507 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christian,Christmas. Score and part. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #3387407. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548507). The First Noel arranged for Viola & Piano with new harmony for the final verse.Origins The First Noel is an English Christmas carol. Even more, it was probably written in the late Cornish Renaissance period. While other versions spell the title as Nowell, this is just a colloquial variation. Furthermore, Noel is an older word meaning Christmas. Therefore the First Noel translates as the First Christmas. First of all, Gilbert and Sandy published the earliest version. As a result, this version appears in the Carols Ancient and Modern songbook of 1823. William Sandy edited and arranged the book. Similarly, his partner Davies Gilbert edited and added the familiar extra verses. The First Noel: Viola Version comes with new harmony in final verse for more energy and drive. Stainer Organist and composer Sir John Stainer published the most noteworthy customary arrangement in the 1870’s. Stainer is above all famous for his songbook entitled: Christmas Carols New and Old (1871). This volume served as an important catalyst for reviving the English Christmas carol. Other famous Stainer arrangements from this book are such titles as What Child Is This, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Good King Wenceslas, and I Saw Three Ships. Diatonic Function The melodic structure in the First Noel is uncommon among English folk tunes. It simply repeats one phrase twice then follows a variation refrain. All three phrases of the song end on the mediant scale degree. This is unusual because the diatonic function of the mediant is non-final compared to the more usual tonic or even dominant degrees. Consequently, this gives the song as kind of open-ended feeling – like maybe it never really ends. Political Context The Catholic clergy sang carols outside of the church in Latin. After the Protestant Reformation, the reformers thought it would be better for everyone to sing carols. They decided to bring music back to the common folk. So, they translated the lyrics from Latin into common language. Moreover, the Protestants wanted more control over the music in church than what the Vatican allowed. Protestant composers such as William Byrd composed complex polyphonic Christmas music that they called carols. Nonetheless, some famous folk carols were composed in this era. Eminent composers in the nineteenth century began to revise and adapt them. Consequently, they revived the English carol. Register for free lifetime updates and revisions at www.jamesguthrie.com
