Chamber Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.750316 Composed by Eddie Lewis. Folk. Score and parts. 19 pages. Tiger Music #4785795. Published by Tiger Music (A0.750316). Hopewell Farmscapes Third Movement from Hopewell Suite for Trumpet Ensemble by Eddie Lewis Hopewell Suite is a trumpet ensemble composition for four trumpets and two flugelhorns. It was composed in 2016 using inspirations Eddie Lewis collected while he was in South Africa for the jazz festival in Grahamstown, in the Eastern Cape. Hopewell is the name of the farm where Eddie and his wife stayed most of the time while they were in South Africa. The farm is owned by their brother-in-law. While Hopewell Farm was not the first farm Eddie ever visited, it is more common for him to see the farms from outside the fences. As a guest at Hopewell, Eddie had many opportunities to explore the land, accompanying his brother-in-law as he took care of the cattle. Some of this was on foot and sometimes they drove (off road) across the property in a bakkie. The scenes, the smells, the sounds, all of it calls out gladly to welcome you. If you are interested in purchasing the full suite with all seven movements, you can do so at: Sheet Music Plus: https://goo.gl/ry175L (affiliate link)

Brass Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.1028133 Composed by Arwyn Bailey. Christian,Gospel,Jewish,Sacred,Spiritual. Score and parts. 113 pages. Galactic Publishers Limited #3382201. Published by Galactic Publishers Limited (A0.1028133). Hope PrevailsThe composition consists of six movements and is for a Brass Quintet with guest instrumentalists of Oboe, Violin, Viola and Soprano voice. The piece explores the moods that many encounter as they go through life from loneliness through to elation. the composers brother experienced these extreme emotions and it resulted in him taking his own life. This piece is dedicated to his memory. The MP3 contains a very short extract from each movement that is a direct download from computer composition software and is therefore not of great quality. The composer is looking for a group to record this piece. Please get in touch if you wish to be part fo a collaborative project perhaps as a school, college, university or other group. The Struggle of the night - 4:09 in length:The first movement commences with sonorous chord sequences and quickly moves to a lively section. The piece incorporates the tune of the Welsh National Anthem along with the hymn tune Cwm Rhondda. The movement moves between the despair and loneliness of the night that one can feel, even when sleeping next to a close partner, and the racing desperation of the mind, whereby patriotic affiliations will calm the soul at these times. the movement finishes with the tune of Land of my father's resonating but even this is of no comfort, and the troubled mind lies awake and the movement finishes with a flurry of discord. The Solitude - 5.34 in length:The movement begins with a haunting melody led by the Oboe. the Horn soon joins in as do other instruments of the quintet. A simple Gregorian type rhythm and chant passes through the quintet with the Oboe leading the movement.Crescendos and attacked notes give the piece a rise and fall showing the mood of the soul that alternates between a calm and a peak of mood as sleep is hard to come by and a restless state is invoked. It appears that the oboe will be leading the soul into peace yet, at the last moment, the quintet joins in with chords of attack and crescendo followed by a sharp diminuendo to end the piece. The soul has sought solace, yet, all they find is loneliness.Brad's Broadcast - 3:01 in length:The restless soul awakes after a restless night. The world is full of voices, advice, motivation and answers. In this lively movement, the soul searches for solace and finds sense from some sources, yet, the cacophony of contrary advice and the nature of some disciples of business and life coaches becomes confusing. there are some real gems of advice available, but, the noise of others drowns out the sense and sanity. The soul manages to find some humour in the forums and media, they smile, but the relief is short lived. The movement ends with all voices descending away in a glissando and silence is restored.By His Own Hand - 4:26 in length:This movement reflects the desperation of the soul. they have sought solace, humour has passed them by, they do not feel that they can continue to live. The piece starts with a cadenza played by a viola. A violin soon duets in this Jewish styled lament.Throughout the movement the brass are spartan, reflecting the confusion of the soul. The ability to cling onto the world and to continue living is a losing battle. The waves of the lament increase in their presence, but not velocity, for the depressed souul is reaching the point of no return and of no choice. They will soon depart from the world by their own hand. The end ofthe movement is a descent and a unifying discordant sound as the soul leaves.Dreaming of Heaven - 2:31 in length:The soul is now rising and an ancient Celtic tune accompanies the soul in the form of a Soprano voice singing words of hope and light. The soul's path is lit and the ancient bell of.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.946919 Composed by JP Wogaman II. 20th Century,Contemporary. 27 pages. JP Wogaman II #6209917. Published by JP Wogaman II (A0.946919). This piece is actually my first film score. It accompanied an animation, but unfortunately, the original artist has made the animation no longer available. The story is still powerful, and the message is still just as relevant. Two young foster children, brother and sister, go from the sadness and fear of being without parents, to the joy of finding a home with a loving family, all while doing their best to hang onto hope and onto each other. For these two young children, I can only imagine it feeling like the end of the world, and not an experience they could possibly grow from. However, this story is a true story, and it is the animator's story. And look where she ended up! A student at the University of Michigan that has since gone on to work for major companies such as Nickelodeon and even NASA. As an artist, I respect her decision to not continue sharing her animation, and I am so unbelievably grateful and humbled to have had the honor of writing the score to her story when I had the chance.More arrangements and originals by JP Wogaman II can be found at www.wogamusic.com

Danza Queimada: this traditional folk tune from Asturias (Spain) is arranged for two melody instruments and is one of a number of folk tune arrangements by the UK based folk duo Na-Mara.A ‘danza’ is a circle dance in two-time. Written in the the key of G, Danza Queimada can be played as a duet on two mandolins or on any C clef instruments (violins, ukuleles, flutes etc), with the guitar chords accompanying the individual players. We came across this particular tune played by the Asturian band Niundes from their album Enxamás Ye Pa Siempres. Performance tips: this is beginner / intermediate level piece played andante or at a moderate speed. We have added a second melody part to the original tune, and this makes for a nice interplay between the melody instruments. Make sure the top line sings above the second line in the B section. As it is a dance–like tune, so try to keep the tempo even. The guitar accompaniment can be played with strummed chords.Na-Mara (Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara) perform this instrumental piece on mandolin or octave mandola, with guitar accompaniment. They have also used it alongside other tunes in workshops as a teaching and learning resource, introducing players to tunes from different parts of the Celtic world.Recordings of this and other tunes on SMP can be found on Na-Mara’s albums ‘Sisters & Brothers’, ‘Navajos & Pirates’ and ‘The Bite’Na-Mara have built an enviable reputation for fine story-telling and musicianship. They have performed in venues and festivals in the UK, Europe and China, and on BBC Radio 4, and a plethora of internet and local radio stations. 'S Toigh Leam Fhìn Buntà ta: this is a traditional Strathspey folk tune from Scotland, transcribed and arranged for two melody instruments, and is one of a number of folk tune arrangements by the UK based folk duo Na-Mara. In the key of D, 'S Toigh Leam Fhìn Buntà ta can be played as a duet on two mandolins or on any C clef instruments (violins, ukuleles, flutes etc), with the guitar chords accompanying the individual players. We came across this tune from an album by the Scots-Gaelic singer Julie Fowlis, and the song she sings is all about liking butter and potatoes. Performance tips: this is beginner / intermediate level piece played Allegro or at a moderate fast speed. We have added a second melody part to the original tune, and this makes a nice interplay between the melody instruments. Make sure the rhythm of the characteristic ‘Scotch snap’ is crisp and clean. The guitar accompaniment can be played with broken chords, or arpeggio style. This tune works well included as part of a ‘Ceilidh’ set.Na-Mara (Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara) perform this instrumental piece on mandolin or octave mandola, with guitar accompaniment. Muiñeira de Boal: this traditional folk tune from Galicia (Spain) is arranged for two melody instruments and is one of a number of folk tune arrangements by the UK based folk duo Na-Mara. A jig-like dance tune, written in 6/8 in the Key of G, Muiñeira de Boal can be played as a duet on two mandolins or on any C clef instruments (violins, ukuleles, flutes etc), with the guitar chords accompanying the individual players. Performance tips: this is beginner / intermediate level piece played at andante or at a medium fast or allegro speed. We have added a second melody part to the original tune, and this makes a nice interplay between the melody instruments. The double stops can be played on the mandolin or violin, flute etc can play one of the two notes. The last part is in unison and builds up the energy of the repeated A section for the last time – it is fun to speed up and end with a flourish, apart from that, try to keep the tempo even throughout. The guitar accompaniment should be played energetically with strummed chords. When we play this tune live we play it as the last tune of a three-part set, starting with our arrangement of the An Dro, followed by our own tune Canberra Bourrée.Na-Mara (Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara) perform this instrumental piece on mandolin or octave mandola, with guitar accompaniment. Flute Trio - Fairy Tales
Trio de Flûtes: 3 flûtes
Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Flute - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767564 C…
(+)
Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Flute - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767564 Composed by Mike Lyons. 20th Century,Children,Contemporary. 57 pages. Lyons Music Services #6035581. Published by Lyons Music Services (A0.767564). This is a highly programmatic piece for flute trio, loosely based around one of the Grimm Brothers’ Fairy Tales Hansel and Gretel. The first movement depicts the children wandering off into the dark forest, initially surrounded by twittering birds and sunlight, but as the movement progresses, the music becomes darker. As the light fades, the children strew breadcrumbs to guide their way out of the forest when they decide to return to the village. At letter C, the mysterious chords suggest something disturbing, perhaps trees with scare faces or giant spiderwebs. At D, the change to 3/4 time suggests the children are anxious and scurrying through the trees, feeling scared, with the use of flutter tonguing suggesting their shivers of fear. Finally, out of breath, they reach the dark clearing with the Gingerbread house. The second movement describes the witch’s Gingerbread house. The top line shows the house’s roof, the middle line shows the windows and the third line marks out the porch and the front door. The children wonder at the strange building and chatter to each other as they explore it, perhaps nibbling here and there. The motif that describes the shape of the house appears from time to time throughout this section as they explore it from different angles. At letter D, after the G.P., the children begin to sense that they are not alone in the house. The low trill on the third flute is meant to be a breathy whisper (it doesn’t matter if the notes fail in performance for this reason) as the witch mutters under her breath. She attempts to pounce on the children and force them into her oven, but they are too fast for her. They trick her into the oven and slam the door shut (Bar before F.) They run from the clearing, not caring if they are going in the right direction. They glance back - once catching sight of the Gingerbread house which has begun to collapse in on itself - before they finally stop for breath as night begins to fall and they find a safe place to sleep (Lento before G.) The third movement sees our young heroes looking for the trail of breadcrumbs to take them back to the village. They are plodding through the deep forest, accompanied once more by the birds. Occasionally they find a crumb or two, but the birds have eaten most of them. They eventually manage to backtrack to the village (the music reflects this as it’s a retrograde of some of the music from movement 1) and they finally reach the village where they are greeted with a party for having killed the witch and returned safely home. This music is in a ‘pastoral style (6/8) and fades away as …they all lived happily ever after.
