Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1249433 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Chamber,Christian,Easter,Historic. 29 pages. Regis Bookshar #840537. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1249433). Three selections based on Christ lag in Todesbanden (Christ lay in death's bonds) (from Cantata No. 4, BMV 4) - Johann Sebastian Bach - Brass Quintet (2 Trps, 1 Hrn, 1 Trb, 1 Tuba) - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download.Cantata No. 4, BMV 4, Christ lag in Todesbanden (also spelled Todes Banden) (Christ lay in death's bonds) is a cantata for Easter written by Johann Sebastian Bach and is his earliest surviving Church Cantata. It was probably written in 1707 when he was 22 years old. It is a Chorale Cantata, a style in which both the text and music are based on a hymn. In this instance, the source was Martin Luther's hymn of the same name which became a main Easter hymn in German Lutheranism.Regis Bookshar has transcribed and arranged three selections based on this hymn tune, two from Bach's Cantata No. 4, BMV 4, and also his Chorale Prelude, BMV 625. They may be played individually or as a trilogy and each movement is more complex than the previous one. The first selection in this trilogy is the Chorale, Christ lag in Todesbanden, the final chorus from his Cantata No. 4, a straighforward four-part setting of the hymn (Regis has also added a fifth part). This is followed by Bach's Chorale Prelude, BMV 625, a piece from his Orgelbuchlein (Little Organ Book), a collection of 46 Preludes for organ, written almost exclusively during the 1708-1717 period, while Bach was court organist at Weiman. For the final selection, Regis has placed the polyphonic and imitative chorus, Es war ein wunderlicher Krieg, da Tod und Leben rungen (It was a strange battle, that death and life waged), which Bach had placed in the middle of his Cantata No. 4.This arrangement is for a Brass Quintet, consisting of 2 Bb Trumpets, 1 French Horn, 1 Trombone and 1 Tuba. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (29 pages).I hope you will enjoy playing these selections and please search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar. There are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. I think you will be pleased with what you may find.

Organ - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1212663 By Markus Dreja. By Paul Philipp Bliss. Arranged by Markus Dreja. Christian,Classical,Religious,Sacred,Spiritual. Score. 2 pages. Markus Dreja #809983. Published by Markus Dreja (A0.1212663). Welcome to one of my projects for 2023. I compose easy-to-learn preludes to well-known chorales and hymns, which can be performed before, during and after a service, but also as a prelude/postlude to a congregational song. It is important to me that these compositions can be played by many organists. The new series continues with the choral When peace like a river from the NAC Hymnbook No. 295.

Organ Piano Duets, Duet piano/organ duet - Digital Download Arranged by Joel Raney. Hymntune, General Worship. Collection. 116 pages. Duration 116 minutes. Hope Publishing - Digital #8535DP. Published by Hope Publishing - Digital
Fifteen well-known hymns

Here are 15 duets for piano and organ for a variety of occasions throughout the church year. There are selections for Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and general occasions. These settings are derived from Joel's popular series of "Worship Openers." While the "Worship Openers" are extended works that include optional handbells, choir, and sometimes brass, these arrangements have been condensed and modified in order to make them more accessible for busy church musicians who are looking for exciting preludes, offertories, and special music. Two books are needed for performance.

It was probably written in 1707 when he was 22 years old. It is a Chorale Cantata, a style in which both the text and the music are based on a hymn. They may be played individually or as a trilogy and each movement gets more complex than the previous one. The first selection in this trilogy is the Chorale, Christ lag in Todesbanden, the final chorus from his Cantata No. 4, a straighforward four-part chorale setting of the hymn (Regis has also added a fifth part). This is followed by Bach's Chorale Prelude, BMV 625, a piece from his Orgelbuchlein (Little Organ Book), a collection of 46 Preludes for organ, written almost exclusively during the 1708-1717 period, while Bach was court organist at Weimar. For the final selection, Regis has placed the polyphonic and imitative chorus, Es war ein wunderlicher Krieg, da Tod und Leben rungen) (It was a strange battle, that death and life waged), which Bach had placed in the middle of his Cantata No. 4.This arrangement is for a Saxophone Quintet, consisting of 2 Alto Saxophones and 3 Tenor Saxophones. Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.818323 Arranged by Stephen R. Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). Christian,Sacred. Score. 14 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #6011219. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818323). Piano solo arrangement of 2 hymns, Wounded for Me and My Savior's Love by Stephen R Dalrymple. William Gilbert Jones Ovens (1870-1945) conducted seaside missions in Northern Ireland for over 30 years. Following World War I, Owens saw a wounded veteran limping past him on the street and he thought He was wounded for me. Gladys Dobson Roberts, a missionary in India, wrote 4 additional verses (Dying for me, Risen for me, Living for me, Coming for me.) Charles Hutchinson Gabriel (1856 -1932) taught himself to play the family’s reed organ, growing up on a farm in Iowa. He was teaching singing school by age 16. He served as music director in Grace Methodist Episcopal Church in San Francisco for 2 years beginning in 1890. In 1912 he began working with Homer Rodeheaver’s publishing company. He edited 43 song books, 7 men’s chorus books, 19 anthem collections and 23 cantatas. He wrote the lyrics for 63 hymns and the tunes for 218 hymns. I used to like to tease the pastor of the Nazarene Church we were attending at that time whenever he chose this song. Responding to the lyrics I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene, I would remind him that Jesus wasn’t a Nazarene; He is THE Nazarene.Suitable for preludes, offertories, concerts, personal meditation. Includes 2 versions 1) piano score letter size 2) piano score - small page format for performing from 10.1 inch tablet (Tell your computer which pages you want to print. There are programs online that will allow you to split pdf files so that you can choose the correct part of the pdf for your tablet.)

Euphonium,Low Brass Quintet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1250700 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Chamber,Christian,Easter,Historic. 29 pages. Regis Bookshar #844985. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1250700). Three selections based on Christ lag in Todesbanden (Christ lay in death's bonds) (from Cantata No. 4, BMV 4) - Johann Sebastian Bach - Euphonium Quintet (Bass Clef) - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download.Cantata No. In this instance, the source was Martin Luther's hymn of the same name which became a main Easter hymn in German Lutheranism. Regis Bookshar has transcribed and arranged three selections based on this hymn tune, two from Bach's Cantata No. 4, BMV 4, and also his Chorale Prelude, BMV 625. They may be played individually or as a trilogy and each movement is more complex than the previous one. The first selection in this trilogy is the Chorale, Christ lag in Todesbanden, the final chorus from his Cantata No. 4, a straightforward four-part chorale setting of the hymn. (Regis has also added a fifth part). This is followed by Bach's Chorale Prelude, BMV 625, a piece from his Orgelbuchlein (Little Organ Book), a collection of 46 Preludes for organ, written almost exclusively during the 1708-1717 period, while Bach was court organist at Weimar. For the final selection, Regis has placed the polyphonic and imitative chorus, Es war ein wunderlicher Krieg, da Tod und Leben rungen (It was a strange battle, that death and life waged), which Bach had placed in the middle of his Cantata No. 4.This arrangement is for a Euphonium Quintet, written in Bass Clef. There is also a version written in Treble Clef, if you would prefer.Included are a score and a complete set of parts (29 pages).I hope you will enjoy playing these selections and please search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar. There are numerous selections in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. I think you will be pleased with what you may find.
