My arrangements there are cheaper and most of the revenue will go to the arranger (me) instead of sheet music plus.I love The Beach Boys. As a teenager, I was definitely exposed to a fair amount of their music for some reason. It's not always easy to transform this kind of music into an idiom that sounds good as instrumental chamber music, however, this is part of my quest to develop a broad range of popular music that I can play live with a small group on the instrument I love - the horn.This is great for university students and professionals. There are not a lot of great, challenging horn quartet arrangements out there, like this one is. Depending on which part you play, this one may require a solid high range and/or low one (although some alternate notes are suggested for those who wish to avoid the extremes). This arrangement helps fill a niche for small ensemble in that horn quartet music typically lacks repertoire in most contemporary and rock genres. I've tried to have the melody move around a bit so it's fun and interesting for everyone. Score, parts and cover arts included. I hope someone out there tries this arrangement and has fun!

This Adagio cantabile movement (the second of four movements) is beautiful, soulful, and melodious. It is enjoyable to play and to listen to, suitable for advanced students or professionals. Students will learn so much about phrasing, articulation, dynamics, balance, and expression from studying this piece; and the level of musicality in this work is suitable for a professional performance. It would work well in a chamber music recital or student recital, and is a good length and seriousness for church offertory music. Duration is approximately 4.5 minutes. Kaplan has fond memories of studying composition with John Davison at Haverford College, where music majors received a copy of his book, Piano Music I. This has been a beloved companion through the years, always in a prominent place on the piano. The first Prelude and Fugue is by turns introspective and knotty, and works well in a woodwind-quintet arrangement (even though here and there some notes are omitted—after all, a pianist has more than five fingers!—or raised or lowered by an octave). The woodwind quintet is ideal for contrapuntal music, since the distinctive color of each instrument helps to bring out the contrapuntal lines. This is part of Kaplan's project to broaden the repertoire of music available to woodwind-quintet players by arranging both great classics and little-known gems.
