Giovanni Gabrieli's Canzon per Sonar Noni Toni à 8 (Ch. 173) is an instrumental work in 8 parts (2 choirs antiphonal) composed in 1597 as part of a collection of 45 motets titled Sacrae Symphoniae. These works were performed in St. Marks Basilica after Gabrieli returned to Venice to become the principal organist there and propelled him to become recognized as one of Europe's leading composers.

The instrumental works of the Sacrae Symphoniae have been cherished by brass performers for many years now. This new arrangement by Damiano Drei has been carefully edited for modern instruments with minimal changes and includes substitute parts to allow the performance of this glorious work by 8 or more advanced performers.

The Boxer is an iconic work by Simon and Garfunkel. Here it is arranged in four guitar parts, suitable for both quartet or large guitar ensemble.

This arrangement has the following benefits in a single download:

Guitar 3 plays accompanying ornamental figures and also the instrumental solos transcribed from the original recording. Randall Malmstrom's beautiful arrangement of the music for 8-part Trombone Ensemble is noble and spiritual.

This 4-minute excerpt contains much of the Introduction or Vorspiel and is appropriate for advanced performers.

Ave Maria, composed in 1889 is the first movement of Verdi's Quattro pezzi sacri for a cappella chorus. Verdi was inspired to compose this work, prompted by the challenge put forth to harmonize the Enigmatic Scale (Scala Enigmatica Armonizzata) by composer Adolfo Crescentini. The rather bizarre scale is passed around to all the parts throughout the entire work and is part of the mystery of this sacred work.

This 4-minute piece has been brilliantly arranged by Denis Jiron for 13-part Brass Ensemble with the following instrumentation: Cornet in B-flat, 3 Flugelhorns, 4 Horns, 2 Trombones, Bass Trombone, Euphonium, and Tuba.

This work may be performed by moderately advanced performers.

This arrangement of Gershwin?s famous Rhapsody in Blue includes all of the main musical themes from the original piano composition, but carefully arranged to suit this group. It features most of the instruments at various points and is exciting and challenging to play across the whole ensemble. This arrangement has been performed many times and is an impressive concert item.
