Two Violins, Piano - Digital Download SKU: IZ.PDP300 Composed by Rebecca Clarke. Score and Parts. 52 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #PDP300. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.PDP300). 9 x 12 inches.Clarke worked on the Pieces for Two Violins and Piano during 1909, her last year at the Royal College, when Danse Bizarre gained her a scholarship. Clarke mentioned Danse Bizarre in her typescript memoir composed in the 1970s, and also discussed it with me in 1977 while helping me catalogue her compositions, but she said then that it was long lost, and made no mention of any related material. In the year 2000, however, Clarke's great-nephew Daniel Braden found.a box that Clarke had put in the back of a closet decades before and evidently forgotten, which turned out to contain a chaotic assortment of letters, papers, medical records, and music-manuscript sheets. When put in order, the latter yielded the missing inner leaf of an important viola piece and a number of previously unknown or presumed-lost arrangements and compositions, including ''Danse Bizarre and a Prelude, a Nocturne, and the beginning of a Finale for the same instruments, on the same paper, and bearing similar markings in Clarke's hand and in at least one other hand, which may well be Stanford's. The four movements were plainly developed as a suite, although there is nothing to suggest a sequence for the inner movements, and no compelling reason to believe that the Finale ever got beyond the extant eight pages. The manuscript of the Finale is noticeably rougher than those of the other movements, and several pencil-markings, apparently in another hand, suggest that some of its motivic material had not yet jelled. It seems entirely possible that Clarke had only begun this movement when a family crisis forced her to leave the College, and that she never returned to it. In any case, there is not enough of the Finale to make performance feasible, but the other movements stand quite magnificently on their own. They were recorded by Lorraine McAslan, David Juritz, and Ian Jones on Dutton CDLX 7132, released in 2003. The first public performance, by students at the Royal College under Jones's supervision, took place in May 2005 in the College's Concert Hall, where Clarke had last performed nearly a century before.

Intermezzo (from Six Pieces for Piano, Op. 118)

Brass Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.808687 Composed by Johannes Brahms (1833-1897). Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. Holiday,Romantic Period,Wedding. Score and parts. 28 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #3872461. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.808687).   Brahms completed Six Pieces for Piano in 1893, just four years before his death. It was the second from last work he would write for solo piano, an introspective composition that he dedicated to Clara Schumann. To four of the six pieces he attached the label Intermezzo. Although the term originally defined a composition that was inserted between two other pieces-say, the movements of a suite or the acts of an opera-Brahms wrote them as independent works. And of these, the most popular is this, the Intermezzo in A major, andante teneramente. As described on the website Favorite Classic Composers, It's a sweetly melancholy piece, with a strong tinge of melancholy.  Except for a few items, this arrangement is not technically difficult. For the most part, Trumpet 1 plays the melody. Some of the notes are relatively high, the highest being C6 (high D for B-flat trumpet); there are several of those. Trumpet 2 has one brief A5 (high B). Trombone carries the heavy load; it has lots of oodle-oodles in the form of up-and-down eighth notes and triplet figures plus one F2. In the tuba part the range of notes is E1 to F3 and it contains a number of octave jumps. This is a beautiful piece, but it does require that each musician listen to the other four while playing.  This arrangement was completed in 2018, and performance time runs about 4 minutes, 55 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, would be very interested in your comments; contact him at lessmith@ufl.edu or leave a review on the SheetMusicPlus website. For more arrangements by Les, enter Sweetwater Brass Press (without the quotation marks) in the search box. (Also, purchase of this piece entitles you to your choice of another of his arrangements at no charge; send a copy of your purchase receipt directly to him at lessmith61@bellsouth.net.)

Piano - intermediate to difficult - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q19861 Composed by Georg Kreisler. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Duration 10 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q19861. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q19861). At the age of 16, Georg Kreisler was forced to leave his home country and set off to an uncertain future. 'Then I was in exile in New York, had little money and much hunger and tried to cheer myself up with these piano pieces. I do not remember if they cheered me up, but on the other hand they have become a testimony to that time. Anyone who has been through a difficult childhood will understand the pieces soon.'.

Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.862660 Composed by Tschaikowsky, P. Arranged by Michael Bomier. Concert,Romantic Period,Standards. Score. 37 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #3603673. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862660). These pieces, unlike Schumann's Scenes from Childhood, but very much like his own Jugendblatt, are kid stuff for kids. Our edition here removes many musical indications and durational obscurities, and leaves the original notes and the dynamics, the two most important aspects of any score for teaching purposes, especially for the recreational players, who make up the vast majority of most piano students. Some chords respelled, some notes assigned to the opposite hand. Pedaling is assumed rather than written durationally. Print these single-sided, and you'll get them all on a single-page, or two pages facing. Musical sample is MOTHER, which we thought appropriate! MBB.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1028362 Composed by Nina Smeets. Children,Concert,Contemporary,Film/TV,Praise & Worship. Score. 11 pages. Hart vol Muziek #3483939. Published by Hart vol Muziek (A0.1028362). At the age of three, Nina suffered a big accident. After being for a long time in a coma, the doctors lost all hope. Miraculously she got conscious after repetitively listening to the 12th piano concerto from Mozart, played by her mother. As a child, Nina was always very attracted to music. Her dream was to become one day a pianist. One day Nina's fiancé, Gabriel Ferraz started to philosophize about the innovation within classical music. Gabriel motivates and inspires Nina to start writing music. In 2013 Nina plays the piano concerto of Gershwin in Switzerland with orchestra. After playing the concerto, she decides to play one of her own pieces as an encore. After a very positive feedback about her music, she starts playing other pieces written by herself on other concerts. At long last, Nina and Gabriel start the project of writing Project Reborn. In 2016 Nina's music from Project Reborn is nominated an award by the Akademia Music Award in the USA. 'Project Reborn' wins the Akademia Music Awards.Nina Smeets may caress the keys with unrivaled dexterity, but it's her underlying compositional instincts that leave us breathless with appreciation for 'Project Reborn'. by Akademia Music Awards For more information about Nina Smeets, click on the link below: https://www.facebook.com/smeetsnina/ For the complete book, click on the link below: https://www.facebook.com/pg/smeetsnina/shop/?ref=page_internal

20 Classical Piano Pieces for Elementary Piano Students (with all piano fingering)

Composed by Various. Arranged by Scott Camp. Classical Period, Etudes and Exercises, Repertoire, Technique Training, Recital. 75 pages. Published by Scott Camp
This is the collection of classical piano repertoire I created for work with my own students, most of whom were not primarily interested in "classical" music. <br> <br> In my experience, every elementary piano student should be given the opportunity to successfully play:<br> Spinning Song (even if you leave out the middle section at first)<br> Minuet in G (page one)<br> Fur Elise (page one)<br> <br> Eventually, they should experience (if not master--that's ultimately up to them) each piece in this collection. <br> <br> All hand positions and finger numbers are presented so that students can spend their time preparing successfully--not "figuring out" with endless frustration and incorrect solutions. <br> <br> "Minuet in G" from the Bach notebook is a great example. Let's consider just the first page. Many (most) elementary students would love to play this piece. The RH by itself is easy. The LH is also "not difficult", but it's not self-evident, either. The notes are easy enough, and the fingering choices seem inconsequential. You could play it with several different fingering solutions.<br> <br> Hands Together: Humans can pay attention to only one thing at a time: in this case, the RH or the LH. Whichever hand is receiving the attention, the other must be on "automatic pilot". You can switch focus rapidly to give the appearance that you are paying attention to two things equally, but that is not what is happening. <br> <br> So... both hands need to be rehearsed (better word than "practiced") until the correct execution is the "default" behavior. <br> <br> If that (sufficient correct repetetition) has not happened, then consistent successful performance with both hands is never achieved. Students complain that they wish they could be more "consistent". They don't have a chance, sadly. <br> <br> "Practice Makes... "<br> <br> If you said "Perfect" then you've fallen into a sinister trap. <br> <br> "Practice makes Permanent." When a student actually does what has been assigned, in many cases that is the beginning of the end of their piano career. <br> <br> Here's the process in general:<br> Students "write in their own fingering" and then, and then practice (repeat) their incorrect solutions. They are unable to perform the desired piece consistently and don't know why. How long can a student tolerate this ineffective approach?<br> <br> That's something for us professionals to consider.<br> <br> <br> Perfect for introducing classical repertoire (similar to Suzuki, Bastien Piano Literature, etc). The advantage here is that all fingering is included so that students play more!<br> <br> Contents<br> <br> Minuet in G from the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach<br> Minuet in G from the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach<br> Minuet in G minor from the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach<br> Musette in D from the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach<br> Minuet in F Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart<br> Ecossaise in G Ludwig van Beethoven<br> Sonatina in G Ludwig van Beethoven<br> I Allegretto<br> II Romanze<br> Sonatina (In the Antique Style) Op. 157, No. 4 Fritz Spindler<br> I Allegro <br> The Wild Horseman, Op. 68, No. 8 Robert Schumann<br> Fur Elise (Famous Page 1) Ludwig van Beethoven<br> Spinning Song, Op. 14, No. 4 Albert Elmenreich<br> Arabesque, Op. 100, No. 2 Friedrich Burgmüller<br> Ballade, Op. 100, No. 15 Friedrich Burgmüller<br> Solfeggietto Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach<br> Toccatina, Op. 27, No. 12 Dmitri Kabalevsky<br> Fur Elise (Complete) Ludwig van Beethoven<br> Sonatina, Op. 55, No. 1 Friedrich Kuhlau<br> I Allegro <br> Sonatina, Op. 36, No. 3 Muzio Clementi<br> I Spiritoso <br> La Vélocité, Op. 109, No. 10 Friedrich Burgmüller<br> <br> <br> These are the documents that I have used to introduce classical music to my piano students. No note is presented without its corresponding proper fundamental technique (fingering). In other words, there is no such thing as a note separate from its hand position and fingering. <br> <br> The hand position notation is used to better communicate what exactly is being demanded of the student. Students’ repertoire is no longer limited by their music staff reading ability. Nor do they suffer from their own painful inability to solve technical issues. This approach restores “playing music on the piano” to primacy and supports “helping a student play music on the piano” as the central activity of the piano lesson. <br> <br> Weak students are able to play real (not simplified) music and not feel penalized. Strong students complete their preparation even more efficiently. In all cases, spending less time on fingering means more time for higher levels of musicianship: coordination, pedaling, physical technique, control, tone, dynamics, tempo, rhythm, articulation, phrasing, expression, emotion, drama, compositional analysis, and historical context.<br> <br> Good luck!<br> Scott Camp<br> scottcampislandpiano@gmail.com This is the collection of classical piano repertoire I created for work with my own students, most of whom were not primarily interested in "classical" music. Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.999894 Composed by Dillon Robbins. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz,Ragtime. Score. 6 pages. Dillon Robbins #6090767. Published by Dillon Robbins (A0.999894). This is an advanced rag for piano. It grows in excitement with each passing strain, all culminating in a climactic final strain in a sort of theme-and-variations form. Featuring styles and techniques characteristic of early ragtime, it also includes references to specific 20th century pieces, including Zez Confrey's Kitten on the Keys, and even Debussy's Golliwog's Cakewalk. While not for the faint of heart, this is a truly energetic and thrilling rag that'll be stuck in your head long after you leave the piano bench.

Euphonium,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.810831 Composed by Gliere, Reinhold. Arranged by Sauer, Ralph. 20th Century,Romantic Period. Score and part. 28 pages. Gordon Cherry #3421025. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.810831). Gliere's beautiful character pieces, Six Album Leaves from Op. 51 are from a larger collection of twelve originally written for Cello and Piano in 1911 while the composer was living in Berlin. The composer most likely was inspired by Schumann’s versions which were unknown in Russia. The pieces are full of eastern sounding melodies and exploit the singing nature of the Euphonium. Mr. Sauer has brilliantly arranged six of these for advanced performers in bass clef.
