The king sings of his love for his second wife, Queen of England Anne Boleyn (Lady Greensleeves). Sadly, this love was not reciprocated. This song quickly became popular throughout England and has been constantly sung and covered since its release. This is a very nice arrangement for SSA choir and optional bass, as the choir can sing it a cappella.Greensleeves est  un chant d'amour attribué au roi  Henri VIII et imprimé pour la première fois en 1580 à Londres. Le roi y chante son amour pour sa seconde épouse la reine d'Angleterre Anne Boleyn (Lady Greensleeves). Hélas, cet amour n'était pas réciproque. Cette chanson devint vite populaire dans toute l'Angleterre et a été constamment chantée et reprise depuis sa parution. Voici un très bel arrangement pour chœur SSA et basse optionnelle, car le chœur peut le chanter a cappella.

English â?¢ Spanish.Four Arms, Two Necks is a setting of a 17th century anonymous poem. The timelessness of the words in the love poem struck me and I set it to music, later dedicating the song to two friends, Anda and Bill Winters, in celebration of a wedding anniversary. Orpheus is from William Shakespeareâ??s play The Life of King Henry VIII. Between 1996-2000, I composed and produced the music for audio recordings of all 38 Shakespeare plays in the Complete Arkangel Shakespeare collection. This song from the play was originally written for lute accompaniment and I later arranged the lute part for piano. Agua, Dónde Vas? is a setting of a poem by Federico GarcÃa Lorca. In 1998, I visited Barcelona to renew with a dear friend, Lucia from an illustrious family of flamenco musicians and dancers. We had met in 1985 when I first visited Granada and was hanging out in the flamenco tablaoâ??s of the Albaicin and Granada proper. Through Lucia I got a glimpse of a world in which Lorcaâ??s poetry vibrated daily and as casually as the music, songs and rhythms that peppered and punctuated conversations, discussions, exchanges of opinions, mealtimes in homes and bars and the precious moments of just hanging out. © 2023 Dominique Le Gendre.

Written and sung by bards in the Middle Ages throughout the English countryside, Scarborough Fair has its origins as far back as 1253 during the reign of King Henry the VIII. During that year, the King proclaimed that there would be a fair in the Yorkshire town of Scarborough and that fair held during August until September. In the folk song, a man asks someone if they are going to the festival in Scarborough. If they are, he asks them to find a former love of his to tell her to perform a series of impossible tasks. Some of these tasks include making him a shirt without seams and washing it in a well without water. If she completed these tasks, she would win his affections once more. The lyrics of this ballad also include the four herbs parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme. More than just mere words, these herbs serve a purpose. Parsley used to treat indigestion. Sage is a symbol of strength. Rosemary represents love and faithfulness, and thyme represents courage.
