There is a Redeemer is a much loved hymn of the 1980s by Melody Green. Michael Ware?s peaceful setting helps the worshipper express their thanks to the Father with lush harmonies and soaring lines. It is especially appropriate for Holy Week and Easter.

"This is piece was composed for and dedicated to my friend, the Persian composer Sepehr Keyhani. Originally titled 'In Motion', I added 'Sky' to the title because I learned that 'Sepehr' means 'sky'?it seemed appropriate. The feel is very movie score, and once I knew that the piece was going to have that feel, I ran with it?even finishing the composition by adding a solo intro line that (in a movie) would be played over the last two clever spoken lines from the two protagonists. Note: The S-E-P-E-H-R motif appears 42 times in the piece, not including partial or modified appearances."

An arrangement of Gershwin's famous melody for solo piano, using both jazz ballad and up-tempo bebop jazz styles. Performance duration is about 4 minutes 45 seconds, and a performance can be viewed at youtube.com/c/rupertaustin/videos.

The arrangement begins in a slow moody jazz ballad style with a four bar introduction and two presentations of the 16 bar melody; with the second (from bar 21) exploring aspects of the melody in improvisatory syle. The performer can optionally omit the extensive up-tempo section that follows, and jump from end of bar 34 to bar 136, providing a fairly brief ballad performance. Alternatively the tempo picks up at bar 35 and six up-tempo improvisatory explorations of the melody, with much use of syncopation, are given (double bar lines marking beginning of each of the six sections). This is followed by a slowing of the tempo from bar 134 and a quiet close of the piece. Swinging quavers should be used between bars 35 and 135, with the final two bars returning to straight quavers.

"Finally got a chance to play through ?The New England Suite??Three Poems for Solo Piano by the amazing Klaus Schader, a modern German composer. Klaus dedicated this piece to me. In Klaus Schader?s piano suite, he explored the deepest longings of human soul, then he painted it out using especially various and unusual harmonies into a master piece with colors of curiosity and warmth. Each harmony was made to wanting more. Wanting more in mystery, wanting more in the dream. In ?Delaware moon?, I hear the warmth of the moonlight dimming Delaware and it feels romantic and welcoming, yet mysterious. The unexpected disharmony of the four chords strikes you into intensive emotions, and reminds you that it was these struggles of reality make beauty even more beautiful. In the ?Old King?s Highway?, the changing of irregular meters and the use of 5/4 gives you the unsettling worries, yet Klaus uses the calming bass lines and chords to balance the scene, and it feels all is in control on the bumpy road. In ?Dusk on the Mohawk Trail?, the story line was based on the unusual chordal progressions, however the dominant sevenths chords throughout brings back the core spirit of the entire piano series-romance, mystery, and dream. It reminds one where the core of the soul is, and that is, where peace is at. Thank you Klaus!!"

David Fetter's brilliant new work Situation Update - Suite for Tenor Trombone and Concert Band is written in three contrasting movements totalling almost 11 minutes in length:

1. Swift

2. Longing

3. Exit Music

Swift is marked "Intense" and is very rhythmic and angular. Longing is a beautiful lyrical movement marked "Cantabile" and Exit Music is marked "Lively" mixing chromatic, lyrical and syncopated segments, ending in a giant climax.

Both the solo and accompaniment parts are written for advanced performers.

The work's premier was performed in 2015 by retired Principal Trombonist of the Boston Symphony, Ronald Barron and accompanied at the Piano by Pianist Larry Wallach.
