She prefers to picture handsome well-dressed young man. Main musical features, some beautiful flute passages, humorous depiction of actual player, and romantic waltz depicting preferred image. Duration 6 minutes. Audio clip is computer generated and has gaps where narration should take place. Bach from the 1725 edition. The most famous ones are actually composed by Bach's friend Christian Petzold. The last Menuet is part of the 2nd orchestral Suite in B minor with 2 options - in the original key and in A minor - much easier. The Menuets are very suitable for weddings or as instrumental pieces for Christmas and other festive occasions. Horn Part in Bb basso ( same as Beethoven's )(alt Hn in F part provided) The Symphony No. 8 in F major, Op. 93 is a symphony in four movements composed by Ludwig van Beethoven in 1812. Beethoven fondly referred to it as my little Symphony in F, distinguishing it from his Sixth Symphony, a longer work also in F.[1] The Eighth Symphony is generally light-hearted, though not lightweight, and in many places cheerfully loud, with many accented notes. Various passages in the symphony are heard by some listeners to be musical jokes. As with various other Beethoven works such as the Opus 27 piano sonatas and the later Ninth Symphony, the symphony deviates from Classical tradition in making the last movement the weightiest of the four. This is my arrangement of the 2nd mvt. There is a widespread belief that this movement is an affectionate parody of the metronome, which had only recently been invented (or more accurately, merely improved) by Beethoven's friend, Johann Maelzel. Specifically the belief was that the movement was based on a canon called Ta ta ta... Lieber Maelzel, WoO 162, said to have been improvised at a dinner party in Maelzel's honor in 1812. However, there is no evidence corroborating this story and it is likely that WoO 162 was not written by Beethoven but was constructed after-the-fact by Anton Schindler. A more likely inspiration was the similar rhythmic parody of Joseph Haydn's Clock Symphony. The metronome-like parody starts at the very beginning of the movement with even staccato chords in 16th-notes (semiquavers). This basic 16th-note rhythm continues fairly steadily through the piece. The tempo is unusually fast for a symphonic slow movement. Richard Wagner has argued that the third movement was intended as the slow movement of this symphony and that the second should be played as a scherzo.

An Orchestral Fanfare, written for the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Perth. 2 Flutes (2nd doubling Piccolo), 2 Oboes, 2 Bb Clarinet, 2 Bassoon, 4 French Horns, 2 Trumpets in Bb, 2 Trombones, 1 Tuba, 4 Percussion (Timpani, Bass Drum, Snare Drum, Cymbals), Harp, StringsComposer's notes:2022 was a year that sparked inspiration for me. I am not talking about just one spark either, but a series that beautifully led me to the creation of my piece. After seeing the 2022 MetSO program it was evident that it lightly using the Brass players, and I knew they were feeling a bit underutilised. Which sparked the first idea in my mind to write a piece that would take full advantage of their skills, and heavily use brass instruments. The program coincided with the 45th Anniversay of the Orchestra which started it life as the Karrinyup Symphony Orchestra. Rekindling the orchestra’s relationship with the City of Stirling and returning to the City of Stirling as a rehearsal venue in 2023, was another spark of inspiration which led me towards the piece’s naming… the ‘Karrinyup Fanfare’. The last spark of inspiration was a query inside my mind. The opening of the piece contrasts two somewhat conflicting meanings of the word Karrinyup. During an Aboriginal Studies unit, I discovered that Karrinyup is a Noongar word that translates to “the place where there are spidersâ€. However, this differs from the City of Stirling official meaning of the name Karrinyup on the website. It states the word means “the place where Kangaroos drinkâ€, possibly because it sounds much more pleasant and doesn’t inspire the fear that spiders often do. It was this contrary interpretation of the word ‘Karrinyup’ which provided the final spark of inspiration I needed for this composition. You see, when you listen to the opening, the theme jumps up and down through the horns, and represents the Kangaroo – Yongka. Whilst as the fanfare continues, you will notice the second theme – the crawling strings represent the spider – Kar. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it. This is Mozart's arrangement of the 2nd and 3rd movements of Bach's Organ Sonata No. 2 in C minor, BWV 526. Mozart wrote this to play at the Sunday musicales of Baron van Swieten in Vienna, who insisted that all participants play music of Bach or Handel. Kaplan is engaged in a project to make classics from other genres available to woodwind players and has also arranged several other great works for this ensemble. The woodwind quintet is especially well suited for contrapuntal music since the distinctive tone colors of the wind instruments bring out the contrapuntal lines and make them clearer to the listener.Note that all six preludes and all six fugues from this work are also available as a single purchase on this website. This fifth Prelude and Fugue is being made available here for those who would rather buy one prelude and fugue at a time.
