Among his souvenirs is a photograph, letters and a broken heart. As he meditates, he goes back to a time before he was broken-hearted and remembers when he and his beloved were softly singing Twinkling Stars are Laughing, Love. Next, his mind reverts to the time when he was Seeing Her Home, recalling the songs of years gone by at Aunt Dinah’s Quilting Party – he was Seeing Nellie Home. After this, he travels to the Far East, and visions of The Road to Mandalay come to him. From there, he meditates on the Sweet Mysteries of Life and, finally, arrives at the closing picture in which he is once more Among my Souvenirs.

So one year I decided to write this one. Perhaps the ideal way to present this song is with a soloist who is joined by a choir of adults (or children!) singing in unison on the second and third choruses--emulating a choir of angels. When used this way, this song provides an easy way to stretch your rehearsal time at the Christmas season, as the choir can easily participate, yet there is no learning of extra parts. Brimming with worship of the Christ Child from the very first lyric, Heaven's Here to Stay begins by quietly evoking the atmosphere of the stable. When the chorus arrives, the jubilant singing of the angels arrives as well: Glory in the highest, for the Peace of heaven comes to earth! Glory in the highest--Hope itself was born in Jesus's birth. For Death is dying, Fear is cowering, Light is chasing Night away. The burning love of heaven's here to stay. Juliet's Waltz (named after Juliet in Romeo and Juliet to depict innocence, grace and charm) It is romantic in nature- originally intended as a piece for classical ballet, however it was decided on a concert piece. It is written in the key of G minor for the first two sections. The first time through the flute has the melody and the second time the piano takes the melody whilst the flute embellishes the theme. After a short link it arrives in G major and the same format takes place with variations of the embellishments before a small coda section to finish.I wanted the piece to sound through-composed with just the two sections. It is also more of a duet between flute and piano with both sharing the material. Would make a lovely concert piece or addition to the repertoire. It is 4 minutes long -Intermediate level, but the whole score is o the youtube link for you to assess suitability.Price is for score and parts.
