Tenor Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.534586 Composed by Gregory Sullivan Isaacs. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. 12 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #4729123. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534586). Part of the AIDS memorial songbook, this melody for tenor voice and piano has an orginal text by the composer: It was still dark. The dawn had not yet arrived. He stood quietly, looking out over the field.,soon to be filled with patches of grief.Monuments to great men, grey against the pre-dawn sky, reminded him of the Great Dream:We are all equal under Law, it promised. We are all equal under Law.He smiled wryly at the thought. The keepers of that Dream still keep it for themselves,only- releasing what little part what group or anothercan wrest away. The unfolding began. Each patch holds the grief of dozens:friends, family.Amercia's children left to die alone.Amercia's children left to diebecause of who they were, who they had to be.Fully open now.Small groups wander here and there.searching, looking,Afraid that the edges wait for them.Afraid that the edges wait for them. Some already gathering scraps of cloth. Finally, he moves at last. Finally with enough courage to go look. His thoughts warmly dwell on him who made it.The one whose devotion was unquestioned.whose love was always present.Having seen it, he was cotent to move on towhatever was to come. His patch was there.

Suite for First Position String Orchestra in Three Movements

(+)
String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.862523 Composed by Michael Bomier. Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score and parts. 53 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #2032829. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862523). The GateWay Editions First Position String Orchestra Series presents this three-movement suite. A Moderato of about 4 mins duration, an Andante, the featured portion of the suite, running about 7 mins, and a final Allegro, all clocking in at just under 14 mins. ALL notes are playable in first position for ALL sections, of course! The basses sometimes shift to 1 1/2 position, as is the usual pedagogy for their instrument. No fast notes across strings or trills. A minimum of accidentals. These three pieces use tightly controlled rhythms, intervals, and melodic fragments, to create a maximum of symphonic euphony through the combination of just a few musical elements. The audio clip is the complete suite. This work can be the centerpiece of a concert for a youth orchestra, a community group, or a high school ensemble. The phrases are not longer than 4 notes, many are two-note groups, making the choices for bowings much easier than longer strings of notes. Each part has the first movement on page one, the second movement on two facing pages, and the third one the last page, making for easy organization of music onstage and in rehearsal. Score is 33 pgs. MBB.

Trumpet Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1018953 Composed by Benjamin Harry Sajo. 20th Century,Contemporary. Individual part. 1 pages. Benjamin Sajo #6078693. Published by Benjamin Sajo (A0.1018953). Programme Notes: This composition was written to be considered for pairing alongside Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony #3, the Eroica, but can stand on its own virtues as an intense and slow meditation on heroism. The music is like a boiling pot on the stove that’s just began to overflow its bubbles. The first part of the title, kommos, is a Classical Greek term from Attic dramaturgy, literally meaning striking but specifically referring to beating oneself up during lamentation--ripping at the hair, gouging out the eyes--like Oedipus--slapping the forehead, and other acts amid moments of extreme emotional turmoil. For example, from Aeschylus's play Agamemnon, a character bewails: Apollo, Apollo! God of the Ways, my destroyer! For you have destroyed me-and utterly [...]What is this fresh woe [...]what monstrous, monstrous horror, beyond love's enduring, beyond all remedy? And help stands far away! We can easily imagine physical accompaniment to the script; rather than bottling up the pain, the hero lets it all explosively come out.  The second part of the title, When the world moved on, is an epigraph taken from American author Stephen King’s The Dark Tower epic. The primary setting of the novel, a world similar in many ways to our own, is experiencing a dark age where the glorious past is all but a distant memory and all good things are referred to wistfully as occurring, When the world moved on. Yet, the main protagonist, Roland, the last gunslinger, emphasizes that it is not just a figure of speech, but the literal distances between destinations have increased, the positions of the stars have changed, as well as the occurrence of other unnatural phenomena. The world has become a gulf of isolation from all corners. Taken together, this piece is a lamentation for when the world moved on. Truly completed on Yom Kippur during the Covid-19 Pandemic, being unable to fast or go to synagogue, this is my atonement.About the Composer: Benjamin Sajo (b. 1988) is a Canadian composer of contemporary classical music, as well as an educator. Since developing a fiercely independent creative voice upon the completion of his studies at Western (2010) and McGill Universities (2013), he continues to find inspiration from the intersection of mythology, art, and nature upon the contemporary human experience. In 2019, he released his premiere album of original music, The Great War Sextet: Canadian War Poetry with Trombone & Strings, with support from the Ontario Arts Council. Oboe Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1018945 Composed by Benjamin Harry Sajo. 20th Century,Contemporary. Individual part. 1 pages. Benjamin Sajo #6078673. Published by Benjamin Sajo (A0.1018945). He is a member of SOCAN and the League of Canadian Composers.
