But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23 WEBThis collection contains 10 familiar hymns arranged as instrumental trios (for VIOLIN duet with PIANO accompaniment). Each hymn represents one of the fruits listed in Galatians 5. The lyrics for each hymn exemplify the character trait implied by each fruit. The introductory hymn encompasses all the fruits and is presented as an overview of the collection. From flowing and peaceful to upbeat and festive, these inspiring arrangements are a welcome addition to the repertoire for beginning string players and suitable for recitals or worship services throughout the year. All notes for both the VIOLIN parts on all songs are playable in the first position making these arrangements an excellent choice for early-intermediate string players. The PIANO accompaniment is written for an intermediate player. For each song, there is a combined score (grand staff) with all three parts on each page (VIOLIN 1, VIOLIN 2, and PIANO) plus separate 1-staff scores for each VIOLIN part as well as a PIANO only score. Each song is also available separately with accompanying preview pages and audio samples.Song titles included in this collection: INTRODUCTION ~ Take My Life and Let It Be LOVE ~ Love at HomeJOY ~ Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee with Rejoice, Ye Pure in HeartPEACE ~ Like a River GloriousPATIENCE ~ If You But Trust in GodKINDNESS ~ Take Time to Be HolyGOODNESS ~ Brighten the Corner Where You AreFAITH ~ The Solid RockGENTLENESS ~ Have Thine Own Way, LordSELF-CONTROL ~ O Jesus, I Have Promised Visit Sharon Wilson's website: www.SharonWilsonMusic.comSubscribe to her YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com/user/SharonWilsonMusic

Piano Accompaniment, Dan CutchenTime: approximately 6:00And Can It Be That I Should Gain? is a Christian hymn written by Charles Wesley. And Can It Be was written in 1738 to celebrate Wesley's conversion, which he regarded as having taken place on May 21 of that year. This beautiful hymn has been popular and enduring. And Can It Be That I Should Gain is perhaps one of the most joyfully poignant hymns penned by Charles Wesley (1707-1788). On Whitsunday (Pentecost), May 21, 1738, three days before his brother John experienced his heart strangely warmed,’ Charles was convalescing in the home of John Bray, a poor mechanic, when he heard a voice saying, In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, arise, and believe, and thou shalt be healed of all thy infirmities. The voice was most likely Mr. Bray’s sister who felt commanded to say these words in a dream.Anglican hymn writer Timothy Dudley-Smith, notes that the following then happened:Charles got out of bed and opening his Bible read from the Psalms: He have put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God, followed by the first verse of Isaiah 40, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. He wrote in his journal, I have found myself at peace with God, and rejoiced in the hope of love Christ (Dudley-Smith, 1987, 1).The statement from Mr. Bray’s sister sparked within Charles a conviction like he had never felt before. Moved and convicted in spirit, Charles wrestled with these words until he came to rest in his faith, knowing that it is by faith we are saved (Ephesians 2:8).Soon after this conversion experience, he wrote two hymns in celebration of the amazing love he had come to know: And Can It Be that I Should Gain and Where Shall My Wondering Soul Begin? (United Methodist Hymnal, 342)There has been some debate as to which hymn was written first, but most current scholarship accepts the latter as the first hymn written by Charles after his conversion experience. No matter its place in the chronology of Wesley's output, And Can It Be has been and remains one of his most remarkable hymns, expressing like no other the rapturous joy of receiving salvation. And Can It Be That I Should Gain. Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.976727 Composed by Robert Myers. Christian,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 2 pages. WheatMyer Music #5197337. Published by WheatMyer Music (A0.976727). It was one of those accidents where you find something useful when you’re looking for something else. While reading on the nature of worship, a particular blog article ended with Adoniram Judson’s early 19th Century baptismal poem, Come Holy Spirit, Dove Divine. The flowing text called out (at least to me!) for a musical setting. Accordingly, some melodic and harmonic ideas began to percolate in my thoughts. However, before getting very far along in writing a tune, there were two surprises in store. First many others had already set the text to music before (with a multitude of tunes) going back to at least 1833. Second, despite being a Baptist for over forty years, I discovered that this hymn has been in the Baptist Hymnal since 1956 yet I have no recollection of every singing it! Well, chagrined at my ignorance, I carried on writing a new melody and harmony for this deserving text. I sought to make it friendly to congregational singers while still containing rich and sing-able harmonies and so aimed for a four-part hymn-style form. However, as I suspect my ignorance of the hymn is a common condition, a fresh and modern tune which would be at home in varied musical styles and have popular appeal was also pursued. The result is a delightful and uplifting tune, easy to sing, with an optimistic and forward momentum, commensurate with the meaning of believers’ baptism, Buried with Him in baptism; raised to walk in new life. The music is flexible in application to many church music styles: praise team and band, choir and organ, congregation and piano, or mix and match to fit your needs. May you find Come, Holy Spirit, Dove Divine, singing a much needed text, a means for your congregation to joyfully join with new believers in celebration of their baptism!

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1370772 Composed by Kevin G. Pace (ASCAP), Mark R. Fotheringham. Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred,Spiritual. 2 pages. Kevin G. Pace #955111. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1370772). A joyful, beautiful hymn of praise with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mark R. Fotheringham.Text:Praise to the Lord of light. Praise for all I see,For the beauty of the world, for it's majesty. In Thy grand universe, small I may be.Yet Thy hand created all, ev'rything for me.And yet, Thy hand created all, ev'rything for me.Praise to the Lord of truth. Praise for all I know,For the Word within my heart, godly ways to show.Patiently teaching me, thy Spirit calls.Line upon each line I learn in Thy sacred halls. As line upon each line I learn in Thy sacred halls.Praise to the Lord of life. Praise for all His pow'r,Raising all from death's embrace, as a seed in flow'r.Through His redeeming grace, I feel no fear.Even in the darkest night, He is ever near.Yes, even in the darkest night, He is ever near.Praise to the Lord of love. Praise for love and grace. His atoning sacrifice, leads me to his face.Constant He is and kind, all men to bless.Cleanse me as I change my heart, ev'ry sin confess.Oh, cleanse me as I change my heart, ev'ry sin confess.Praise to the Lord of all light, truth, life, and love.Surely He was sent from God, sent from up above. He shall my Shepherd be, leading me on,On to joy and happiness, life's true denouement. (Denouement meaning: The final result of a series of events, effort or struggle.)Lead on to joy and happiness, life's true denouement.
