Accordion orchestra - Early Intermediate - Digital Download By Annie Lennox/David Stewart. Arranged by Luc Papens. Score, Set of Parts. 66 pages. Published by Luc Papens
?Sweetdreams? is one of those signature synth-pop songs of the eighties.
AnnieLennox and Dave Stewart wrote the song after the Tourists had broken up andthey formed Eurythmics. At that moment they were disillusioned and broke andthe song?s lyrics reflects that unhappy time. Although produced with limitedresources, it?s one of the most striking and recognisable songs of the eighty?sera.
The duelling synthesizers are mimicked by accordion voice 3 and 4 and of course the keyboard. The drumpart is very basic and clean, like the original. To add some contrast, bas anda tambourine back beat kick-in during the melodic passages between the verses. Accordion basses in voice 4are optional but darken the sound nicely, especially when sustained in some passages.
Have funwith this Eighties classic!
The pdf isa bundle of the full score with a complete set of parts. It contains:Full score (1 copy), Accordion1 (4 copies), Accordion2 (4 copies), Accordion3(4 copies), Accordion4 (4 copies), Keyboard (2 copies), Bass(1 copy), Percussion (2copies), Drums (1 copy). Total of 66 pages (some are blank to avoid overlapping of parts when printing rectoverso).
The mp3 is producedby Sibelius notation software andKontakt sample libraries.

Choral Choir (SSAA) - Level 3 - SKU: A0.853725 By The Shangri-Las. By Ellie Greenwich, George Morton, and Jeff Barry. Arranged by Larry Wright. A Cappella,Barbershop. Octavo. 6 pages. Larry Wright #4601543. Published by Larry Wright (A0.853725). A WOMEN'S 4-part, a cappella, barbershop, non-contest, uptempo arrangement of the 50's big hit song. IMPORTANT NOTE: this arrangement must be performed using an iPhone and very small (4x4x1.5) cordless (bluetooth), battery powered BOSE speaker for the pre-recorded motorcycle, etc. FX sounds. The speaker would be velcro'd(?) to a very small, detachable, shelf attached to the mic stand, close as possible to the mic. These shelves can be inexpensively purchased. It would (of course) be attached prior to the performance. One of the singers holds the iPhone (concealed) and triggers (starts/stops) the FX track. The track doesn't have to be stopped until you exit the stage,... as long as there's nothing else on the track!!! The iPhone must be on silent mode, of course! Quartets and choruses singing at a B- contest level should be able to successfully learn and perform this arrangement making good use of the available excellent part-predominant vocal Learning Trax <www.larrywrightmusic.com>. If you've FIRST purchased my learning trax from my website store and the SMP per-copy price is not $1.89, email me <larry@larrywrightmusic,com>. SMP requires a minimum purchase of 10 copies for all choral selections.

Score and part. 15 pages. Jmsgu3 #3473699. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549256). Flight of the Bumblebee from Korsakov's Tale of Tsar Saltan Score: 9 pages, Solo part: 3 pages, Piano accompaniment part: 3 pages. Duration: ca. 1:15 Amaze your listeners with this short but stunning recital encore! Korsakov: Flight of the Bumblebee Flight of the Bumblebee is, to be sure, an orchestral interlude composed by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov for his opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan. Korsakov, of course, intended to musically portray the chaotic flying pattern of a bumblebee. Nowadays, this piece is one of the comparatively more famous classical works because it frequently appears from time to time in popular culture. In the opera, the piece appears notably at the close of Act III, Tableau 1. This is when the magic Swan-Bird, in fact, changes the Prince (the son of the Tsar) into a bee so he can fly away to visit his father. Interestingly, at this point in the drama, his father, in effect, does not know that he is alive.  Korsakov Background Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (1844 –1908) was a uniquely famous composer from Russia. He was likewise a member of an infamous assembly of composers called The Five. Korsakov was furthermore an expert in orchestration. His correspondingly most famous orchestral compositions-Capriccio Espagnol, the Russian Easter Festival Overture, and the Scheherazade suite-are important monuments of the standard music repertoire.  Also, comparatively very important are his suites and excerpts from his 15 operas. Korsakov was moreover fond of using Russian folklore and fairy tales in his music, such as Scheherazade. Nationalistic Style Korsakov believed, similarly to fellow outspoken composer Balakirev, in creating a nationalistic, Russia-centric style of classical music. The new style was in fact called Orientalism. It similarly relied on native Russian materials, exotic scales, and experimental harmonic, melodic and rhythmic procedures. This practice, conversely, ran counter to the developments in Western musical culture. Musical Developments Nevertheless, Korsakov developed an appreciation of Western musical techniques after he became a professor of musical composition, harmony, and orchestration at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory in 1871. Moreover, he undertook a rigorous three-year program of self-education and mastered Western methods, incorporating them in conjunction with the influences of Mikhail Glinka and other members of The Five. His techniques of composition and orchestration were additionally enriched by his exposure to the works of Richard Wagner. Naval Service Korsakov combined his music career accordingly with a career in the Russian military. He was in the first place an officer in the Russian Navy. In due time, he was appointed as a civilian Inspector of Naval Bands. As a result, Korsakov expanded his knowledge of woodwind and brass playing, which in turn heightened his capabilities in orchestration. Legacy Korsakov in due time contributed a significant number of Russian nationalist works. He also prepared, from time to time, compositions by The Five for presentation. This brought their works straightaway into the active classical repertoire as well. He also shaped an entire generation of younger composers during his time as a music educator. Therefore, music historians consider Korsakov as the foremost engineer of what the public considers to be the Russian style of composition. He served, all in all, as a transitional figure between The Five and the classically trained composers who became the norm over time. In addition to the Russians, he forthwith influenced non-Russian composers such as Ravel, Debussy, Dukas, and Respighi. Â

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - SKU: A0.808695 Composed by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (1844-1908). Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. Holiday,Patriotic,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 44 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #4819845. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.808695).   Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov composed his third opera, The Snow Maiden, during the period 1880-1881. Based on Alexander Ostrovsky’s play of the same name, The Snow Maiden uses fairy-tale characters to portray the opposing forces of nature, winter versus summer. Act 3 contains the Dance of the Skomorokhi. Skomorokhi were traveling performers in old Russia and, in connection with this composition, the term is usually translated as tumblers or clowns. Rimsky-Korsakov also included this selection as one of four movements he compiled into a concert suite based on the opera. Dance of the Tumblers has become one of his most frequently performed and best known pieces.  Light and uplifting, Dance of the Tumblers is vibrant, energetic and addictive. It takes the form of, as one commenter wrote, a classical sonata-structure, complete with development section, invigoratingly intensified reprise, and a veritable whirlwind of a coda. This brass quintet arrangement retains the original key signature of C but adjusts register to make the melodies accessible and playable. As a result, most notes are well within the normal playing range of the five brass instruments. Trumpet 1’s highest note is its A above the staff. At measures 132 and 133, Trumpet 2 has the option of playing some high notes (including one C above its staff) an octave down. Tuba plays mostly in the lowest register, with quite a few low F notes and one low E. Most instruments have some octave jumps, but all have a lot of notes to play in a very short time: many, many sixteenth notes. The score is marked Vivace, and the audio sample moves along at a pretty fast clip. But of course, the speed at which performers actually play the piece is up to them, a matter of interpretation.   This arrangement was completed in 2019, and performance time runs about 3 minutes, 38 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for trombone) at no charge; contact him directly at lessmith61@bellsouth.net. For more arrangements by Les, enter Sweetwater Brass Press (without the quotation marks) in the search box. (Also, purchase of this piece entitles you to your choice of another of his arrangements at no charge; send a copy of your purchase receipt directly to him at lessmith61@bellsouth.net.)

The Claims of the Son 1: The Word, the Light, the Lifeoriginal song for SATB choir and piano by Stephen R Dalrymple♫ based on John 1♫ The purpose of this collection is to look closely at the I Am’s of the Gospel of John. The individual titles have been composed over many years in various ensemble types. The songs have been added to, reworked, expanded, and made consistent in this publication for SATB choir with piano. A narration has been added to unify the themes of the songs. Of course, each of these songs can be performed separately as stand-alone choral works.♫ This song is not based on an “I Am†statement but refers to Apostle John’s opening portrait of Christ.♫ These claims of Jesus Christ are very much like a series of portraits of a person. Instead of calling “The Claims of the Son†a cantata, the composer chose the term “polyptych†[pu LIP tich]. A polyptych is a work of art consisting of 4 or more pieces or panels, that together create a single presentation. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548715). Out of the Depths I Cry to You by Martin Luther arranged for clarinet & piano. The first verses feature modified counterpoint and harmony proceeding at quarter = 82. The final verse is reharmonized for maximum dramatic effect at a more contemplative tempo such as quarter = 64. Features the entire range of the instrument. Very powerful selection for Lent or Easter. Duration (3 verses) 3:05, 36 ms. Score: 3 pg. Solo part: 1 pg. The piano reads from the score. Out of the Depths Aus tiefer Not schrei ich zu dir (From deep affliction I cry out to you), is, of course, a hymn composed by Martin Luther. Moreover, Luther also wrote the lyrics, essentially a paraphrase of Psalm 130. First published in 1524, it is also one of eight songs in the original Lutheran hymnal. It appears likewise in many hymnals and in different translations. The lyrics furthermore stimulated compositions from the Renaissance to the contemporary. Consequently, composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach built an entire chorale cantata on it. Other composers similarly contributed pieces, such as Felix Mendelssohn and Max Reger. Luther Background Martin Luther, (1483 –1546) was a German professor of theology, composer, priest, and moreover, an influential character in the Protestant Reformation. Luther had a momentous impact on church and society due to his contributions to the musical arts. He wanted to disseminate the gospel among mankind and with this intention thought that the best way to do that was through music. Influence It is important to realize that other musicians, and their descendants, were encouraged by Luther’s songs and wrote their own hymns. Luther, to be sure, had a thorough musical education. For example, he knew secular and sacred songs from an early age. He, in particular, played the lute well and sang in the monastery when he was a monk. That is to say, music was an essential part of his life. He in fact first began writing songs in 1523, sometimes writing the melody as well as the lyrics. Luther was certainly able to evaluate the composers of his time. He thought especially highly of Josquin des and Ludwig Senfl. He was also acquainted, with this in mind, with other composers and their works. Legacy The Lutheran musical ethos soon covered all of Germany and later significantly fashioned Protestant musical culture. Heinrich Schütz and Johann Sebastian Bach are the most compelling evidence of this Protestant musical culture. Additionally, as a point often overlooked, the pedal organ, first refined in northern Germany, became universally prevalent. As a matter of fact, Dieterich Buxtehude established a regular evening organ concert series in Lübeck. Another key point is that this concert series, in turn, spread North German Musical ideas worldwide. Luther was especially convinced that music is a beautiful and exclusive offering of the divine.
