As a student 40 years ago I wrote a thesis about all existing cello methods. Then I started writing my own method by putting all positive aspects of all methods together.

The original literary source for Die Fledermaus was Das Gefängnis (The Prison), a farce by German playwright Julius Roderich Benedix that premiered in Berlin in 1851. On 10 September 1872, a three-act French vaudeville play by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy, Le Réveillon, loosely based on the Benedix farce, opened at the Théâtre du Palais-Royal. Meilhac and Halévy had provided several successful libretti for Offenbach and Le Réveillon later formed the basis for the 1926 silent film So This Is Paris, directed by Ernst Lubitsch.

This book is an arrangement for violin and cello of the popular book, "The Violinist Meets the Fiddler," for two violins. It is designed to introduce students to traditional fiddle tunes, combined with familiar classical melodies in fun, easily accessible arrangements. In the twelve duets included in this book, the violin part is designed for the more advanced student, on the level of Suzuki Violin School, Books 3-5.
