String Ensemble,String Trio - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.800202 Composed by Various, Traditional. Arranged by Samantha J Bramley - stringspirational@gmail.com. Children,Christmas. Score and parts. 25 pages. Samantha Bramley #3877327. Published by Samantha Bramley (A0.800202). The Holiday Season can be really painful for lower string players in any ensemble. Playing ‘cello in a Carol concert makes me want to cry. That is why I have created arrangements of classic Christmas Carols and Songs guaranteed not to bore the pants off your violist or ‘cellist. No more bashing out bass notes for the ‘cello, and no more chugging away on the off-beat for viola while the fiddles get soaring melody after soaring counter-melody. We deserve more than this, right guys? You got it! A jolly romp through some of the most popular French language carols, Noël Re-Nouvellé is a medley for string trio lasting 6 minutes at given tempo. With optional 2nd violin for viola part. Written with interest in all three parts, and taking turns with melody and accompaniment, this is a very enjoyable arrangement for ensembles of intermediate ability. If you have a great viola player or bored ‘cellist s/he will love this! Contains some double stopping of open and stopped strings. 1. Joie dans le monde - Joy to the World 2. Quittez, Pasteurs - Shepherds, Leave your Flocks 3. Entre le bœuf et l'âne gris - The Ox and the Grey Donkey 4. La Marche des Rois Mages - March of the Magi Kings 5. Il est né, le Divin Enfant - He is Born, the Divine Christ Child 6. Noël Nouvelet - Traditional French Folk Carol 7. Les Anges dans nos campagnes - Angels from the Realms of Glory 8. Vive le vent d’hiver - Jingle Bells 9. C’est Noël - Deck the Halls 10. O Venez, les Fideles - O Come All Ye Faithful 11. On se dit Joyeux Noël - We Wish You a Merry Christmas Note from the arranger: All my arrangements for strings are conceived specifically with the aim of writing interesting parts for all players. Most parts do not go beyond 4th position (with the exception of a few harmonics in the lower string parts), making them suitable for student and mixed ability groups. A complete score and set of individual parts (violin, violin 2, viola, ‘cello) is included. Choral Choir (4-Part) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.784832 Composed by McCorkle, Dennis F. Broadway,Christian,Jewish,Musical/Show,Rock. Octavo. 24 pages. DF McCorkle Music and eBook Publications #11755. Published by DF McCorkle Music and eBook Publications (A0.784832). ACT TWO: Song 6. The King, by Dennis McCorkle, is a contemporary pop-rock musical of the first two kings of Israel, Saul ben Kish and David ben Jesse and explores the contrasting lives and outcome of each man’s choices in life. [2 Samuel 11:12-13 - And David said to Uriah: ‘Tarry here to-day also, and to-morrow I will let thee depart.’ So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the morrow. 13 And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk; and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.] In fear of being exposed, DAVID has her husband brought back from the field with the hope that he will have relations with his wife covering up his own indiscretion. URIAH, a conscientious soldier, returns home, but sleeps outside on his steps out of respect for the men still fighting on the front. Seeing that his ploy has not worked, he has URIAH and some of his men over to the palace for drinks [Pour Me Another One – Troops, Uriah and David]. Getting URIAH drunk, DAVID has him escorted home, but as before he sleeps outside. As a last desperate measure, he sends a letter for JOAB (David’s commander and confidant) back with URIAH to place URIAH on the front line and then have the rest of the troops pull back leaving him exposed. URIAH is killed. Also included with your order is our new 20 page catalog of over 150 titles at no additional charge.

(+)
This fourth booklet is dedicated to ensemble playing through five trios and three quartets of various styles (tango, ballad, rock, etc.) appropriate for the end of primary school with a few years of experience and the beginning of secondary school. Some pieces are written in a homorhythmic manner and can constitute an introduction to ensemble music, while others are rather polyrhythmic. They can constitute a first contact with the following techniques and effects: staccato, pizzicato, accent, louré, natural harmonic, percussion or crossed strings. This volume is therefore intended for guitarists who already know the notes in first position. Two pieces include a more advanced part with an introduction to playing in 5th position. These are short pieces that do not present technical challenges other than those allowing you to achieve the effects and play expressively. You will find in the scores indications of nuances, timbre, attack and fingerings which constitute suggestions for work and not prescriptions. Teachers and students are therefore invited to make interpretation choices different from those proposed or to try to convincingly render those already written. The pieces were composed or arranged by UQAM music education students as part of a course aimed at equipping musicians for teaching guitar in the school system. Many of them are musicians from different backgrounds (composition, performance, world music, etc.), which explains the creativity found in the pieces. All the pieces have been the subject of an audio recording available on the Productions d’Oz website and on YouTube. Search for À vos guitares, prêt, joue! Vol. 4.Isabelle Héroux, editor, professor, Department of Music, UQAM.Louis-Edouard Thouin-Poppe, assistant editor, arranger and engraver. DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER (Original version) With this edition, the original version of Wagner’s opera Der fliegende Holländer [The flying Dutchman] WWV 63 is made available to the public for the first time in piano score form. The score on which the edition is based was published in the Richard Wagner-Complete Edition 1983: Richard Wagner. Collected works Vol. 4, I-II, The Flying Dutchman. Romantic opera in three acts (original version 1841), edited by Isolde Vetter (Schott Music International, Mainz, RWA 104-10/RWA 104-20).†(Egon Voss, quoted from the foreword of the new Der fliegende Holländer vocal score) Original version and 1842-1880 version The original version of Der fliegende Holländer dates from 1841. Wagner, at the time a completely unknown Kapellmeister in France, trying to get a foothold in Paris, saw the opportunity for a stage work that would meet the fashion at the Paris Opera of performing several short works one after another. Der fliegende Holländer, conceived in 1840 and composed in 1841, seemed to him suited to the purpose. In 1841, even when Wagner no longer counted on a success in Paris, he still held to the conception of a one-act opera and offered the work to German opera houses under the title of “Romantic Opera in One Act and Three Scenesâ€. This version is set in Scotland, taking as the literary model for the opera Heinrich Heine’s novel fragment “From the Memoirs of Mr. Schnabelewopskiâ€, and the protagonists have English names. This version was never performed in Wagner’s lifetime. Beginning in 1842, the work went through a tale of constant revision: Even before the Dresden premiere (2nd January 1843) Wagner undertook fundamental alterations. He transposed the location from Scotland to Norway, changed character’s names as appropriate, divided the opera into three acts – not least due to considerations of scene changes – and transposed Senta’s Ballad from A minor to G minor. It was in this version that the score of the opera went to print in 1845. For a performance in 1860 he composed the later so-called ‘Tristan’ or ‘Redemption’ ending to the Overture. Until the very end of his life, Wagner contemplated a plan for a final score or a definitive vocal score: it never came to be, so that to this day, as with Tannhäuser, we still do not have Der fliegende Holländer in a final version. Based on the research conducted in the creation of the Complete Edition, our editions contain, in one case the original version of 1841, while the other essentially goes back to the first printing of the score of 1845, but with the addition of the source material for the retouchings dating from 1842 to 1889. VOCAL SCORES The original version of the opera was made available for the first time in a vocal score in 2005 (ED 8065). The completely revised new edition of the vocal score of the 1842-1880 version appeared in 2011 (ED 20531).Les opéras de Richard Wagner paraissent pour la première fois sous forme de piano-chant chez Schott en version originale.

Guitar - Advanced - Digital Download SKU: ZZ.DZ-4308 Composed by Giorgio Mirto. Score. 24 pages. Les Productions d'OZ - Digital #DZ 4308. Published by Les Productions d'OZ - Digital (ZZ.DZ-4308). Following a recent experience on the jury of a guitar competition, I noted with great pleasure that Giorgio Mirto, with whom I had shared the role of juror, wanted to celebrate the experience of the competition - during from which we discovered that we had had a great affinity of thought - with something which could endure over time and not evaporate as often happens in short and occasional meetings between musicians. He did it as a true composer, which he is, and dedicated to me a very beautifully crafted Suite to which I allowed myself to collaborate at least formally, by suggesting titles for the four movements. This is how Suite n.1 was born, a piece that does not strictly respect the formal rules of the Baroque era, but reinterprets and reuses them in a new key. The work's obvious late Baroque inspiration led me to find titles that invited the performer to delve deeper into the work's aesthetic inspiration. So I suggested to Giorgio that he title the four movements with something that linked their content to four greats of the 18th century. German masters. The prelude has thus become from Eisenach because of its sometimes improvised Bach-like atmosphere, the second movement, vaguely toccata, speaks an organ language in the manner of Buxtehude (who lived in Lübeck), the slow movement has a Handelian quality - and Handel was born in Halle - and the last movement, far from being a true Chaconne, undoubtedly has the latter's taste for variation and ostinato, typical traits of Telemann who lived in Magdeburg. The cities that appear in the titles are therefore indelible to the authors cited. Furthermore, one should not think that the style of the work is in any way German, given that Giorgio Mirto expresses himself in a very joyful language that synthesizes modality with minimalism, all seasoned with a a nod to Pink's progressive rock Floyd. or a Mike Oldfield... The result of this mixture of ideas, inspirations and styles is a work that personally I never tire of reading and rereading, for the freshness that emanates from it and for the climate expressive which rises, nourishing itself with full efficiency. We ultimately cannot ignore that the note B, the one which marks in a minor way some of the most expressive works of the guitar repertoire, from the study of Sor which made generations of students fall in love with the guitar, until to that of Frank Martin's Four Pieces via La Catedral di Barrios, is the modal fulcrum of the entire Suite: it is true that the Prelude begins with a clear chord in E minor and lingers on an open ending in A minor , but it almost seems that the initial E serves as a launching pad for a continuation of the work in which the dominant, that is to say the B, is the true musical North, the pole star which guides us in the other three movements until the end of the Chaconne de Magdebourg. I wish Giorgio and our Suite great longevity and a favorable destiny in the complex and complex world of contemporary guitar composition.

Piano Solo, Violin - Digital Download Composed by Charles Francois Gounod (1818-1893). Arranged by Yoel Epstein. Romantic Period, Repertoire, Halloween, Children's Music, Fairy Tales. Score, Set of Parts. 6 pages. Published by Yoel Epstein
Funeral March for a Marionette is,perhaps, composer Charles Gounod's most famous composition. This is largelybecause it was used as the theme song of the popular 1950s television series AlfredHitchkok Presents. Gounod wrote the piece in 1872. Thepiece, originally for piano, describes the story of a marionette who is killedin a duel. In the original score, Gounod included comments in French matchingthe action in the story to the music: · La Marionnette est cassée!!!(The marionette is broken!!!) · Murmure de regrets de la troupe(Murmurs of regret from the troupe) · Le Cortège (The procession) · Ici plusieurs des principaux personnages de la troupes'arrêtent pour se rafraîchir (Here many of the principalpersonages stop for refreshments) · Retour à la maison (Return to the house) The picture on the cover is thefirst page of the original publication. You are welcome to try some of myother arrangements. In addition to the songs offered on this site (you can seethem at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=Yoel Epstein), I have arranged three songs from the Holocaust, which I arranged anddistribute for free on IMSLP. Published by Sylvia Miles (A0.977677). La cambo me fai mau in the original Provençal.Probably composed by Nicolas Saboly (1614-1675), poet, composer and chapel-master.Saboly was an interesting figure. Born into a family of herdsmen, he studied theology and became a Jesuit priest. (But in 1634 he left the University of Avignon without taking his degrees - wonder why?) He composed and collected many carols in the Provençal dialect, which form one of the monuments of poetry in that language, and have been repeatedly published right up to the present day.To be sung with humour! and a nice punchy rhythm from the altos.Words:2. Guitar - Intermediate - Digital Download SKU: ZY.DO-1522 Composed by Francis Bebey. Arranged by Ingrid Riollot. Score. 5 pages. Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) #DO 1522. Published by Les Editions Doberman-Yppan (digital) (ZY.DO-1522). Son originalité continue de résonner dans le monde entier depuis son décès à la fin du mois de mai 2001.Francis Bebey was born in Douala in July 1929, into a large family where his father, a pastor, struggled to feed his children. But Francis had the opportunity to go to school. Admiring his elder brother, Marcel Eyidi Bebey, he educated himself, distinguished himself, and eventually received a scholarship to go and take his baccalaureate in France. We approached the end of the 1950s when he arrived in La Rochelle. More than ever, in this France where Africans were looked at with curiosity, condescension, or disdain, Francis relied on his intellectual resources. A diligent worker, he obtained his Baccalaureate, then moved to Paris where he started English studies at the Sorbonne. One day, he knew what truly attracted him: he wanted to do radio. Francis learned his craft in France and in the USA.After working for a few years as a reporter, he was hired in 1961 as an international civil servant in the UNESCO Information Department. In parallel, Francis had always been drawn to musical creation. His very serious daytime activity didnâ??t prevent him from frequenting jazz clubs in the evenings. In Paris, the Jazz, the trendy music of that time, but also rumba and salsa attracted him. He collected records and attended numerous concerts. With his accomplice Manu Dibango, Francis took the stage and played music.Francis liked classical music since his childhood. He grew up listening to the cantatas and oratorios of Bach or Handel that his father had sung in the temple. He became passionate about the guitar, impressed by the Spanish and South American masters, and decided to learn to strum the instrument himself. He started composing guitar pieces, blending the various influences that flow through him with the traditional African music he had carried within since childhood. His approach captivated the director of the American Cultural Center (then located in the Saint-Germain neighborhood of Paris), who offered him the opportunity to perform in front of an audience. Francis gave his first guitar recital there (1963) in front of a mesmerized audience. His first solo album was released shortly thereafter.Gradually, Francis became recognized as a musician and composer. Several albums of the African guitar ambassador, as described by the press, were released. He also wrote books, to the point that his artistic career became challenging to reconcile with his career as a civil servant. In 1974, even though he had become the General Manager in charge of music at UNESCO, he took the bold leap and resigned from this prestigious institution to dedicated himself to the three activities that interested him: music, literature, and journalism. He explored the traditional musical heritage of the African continent, notably through the thumb piano sanza, and the polyphonic music of the Central African pygmies, or singing in his native language and composing humoristic songs in French!Success followed. Francis Bebey traveled the world: from France to Brazil, Cameroon to Sweden, Germany to the Carribean, or Morocco to Japan... the list of countries where he was invited to perform, gives lectures, or meets readers is very long. In addition to public recognition, he enjoyed the recognition of his fellow musicians, such as guitarist John Williams or Venezuelan Antonio Lauro, who invited him to be a part of the jury for a classical guitar competition in Caracas. His life was the journey of an African pioneer, a man rooted in his cultural heritage and carrying a message of sharing and hope for the world. His originality continues to vibrate around the world since his passing at the end of May 2001.

Small Ensemble Cello,Guitar,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576653 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 10 pages. David Warin Solomons #51133. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576653). Very sad poem by Paul Maertens about a child he came to know from his medical practice. The mother was unmarried and ashamed and tried to ignore the child as if it were a reproach to her, the child became autistic and unable to react to others. This setting for alto voice, cello and guitar reflect the mood of the poem in all its sadness. The sound sample is a performance by the composer, with Chris Benson on cello. (The guitar's 6th string is tuned to D - much use is made of 12th and 19th (or 7th if preferred) fret harmonics) The pdf file contains score and parts. An instrumental version of the the music, entitled Promenade d'hiver (viola, cello and guitar), is also available on this site. It is sung in French, but for convenience I am providing an English translation below (not for performance purposes). Réveille-toi, mon gars! Your mummy, little chap, did not want you. Now you turn on the taps and watch the water flow, but you don't want to grab it. Your mummy didn't admit she was expecting. Your daddy isn't yours and your mummy, out of shame, hid you in her breasts. You were born but you weren't given a life. You were rocked to sleep because you weren't supposed to be heard. Your mummy didn't look into your eyes, your smiles got no response. You weren't loved. You were forbidden to live. Your mummy could not bear the reproach your eyes shot at her, and in order to flee you all the more she made you into this object, this forgotten thing, a clean and faithful dog that you wash and feed. Now you roll your toy car around, without playing or smiling or speaking. Your mummy has gone and you didn't cry. You've left your car somewhere and you arrange the cubes in front of you, always in the same order, simply, without anguish, without happiness. You are not living , little one. Wake up little chap!

Voice and piano (2 songs with violoncello; 1 vocal duet) - Medium - Digital Download SKU: MQ.8491-12E Composed by MeeAe Cecilia Nam and Theodore Gouvy. 6 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8491-12E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8491-12E). French.A French composer, Théodore Gouvy (1819-1898) was one of the most significant composers of 19th Century in Europe. The movement of rediscovering his instrumental music has been increasingly successful in Europe since the 1990s, especially following the birth of L’Institut Gouvy in France. However, his solo vocal music has been waiting to be unveiled to the public. Volume One includes 52 songs of Gouvy.Gouvy traveled widely throughout Europe. He was also a lover of nature. Generally, he spent his winters in Leipzig, but in the summertime, he always returned to Hombourg-Haut, France, to stroll through the woods, to hunt, and to relax. Gouvy was fluent in several languages and had a great appreciation of the Renaissance French Poetry of Pierre de Ronsard whose poetry he had set to music. The fifty-two songs in this volume are largely by Ronsard and other Renaissance poets of La Pléiade.Although Ronsard is approximately 300 years older than Gouvy, they both seem to have the same interest in classical literature, though, admittedly, for different reasons. Celebrated by the French and English courts, Ronsard (1525-1585) was the leader of La Pléiade: a group of seven poets (Joachim Du Bellay (1522-1560), Rémy Belleau (1528-1577), Étienne Jodelle (1532-1573), Pontus de Tyard (1521-1603), Jean–Antoine Baïf (1532-1589), and Jean Daurat (1508-1588), who dedicated their efforts to writing poetry in French rather than in Latin (or Greek) as most of the Romantic poets did. They wished to enrich the French language, and establish a new literature which would be the equal of the other literature of their period, and the equal to poets of the past. French Romantic poetry featured the closeness of the poet to nature, and his ability to communicate with nature by personifying (anthropomorphizing) all of nature’s elements: flowers, the planets, the moon, the breeze, and even the sand upon the shore. As a significant melodist, Gouvy’s treatment of the vocal solo line and his treatment and development of the piano accompaniment places him in the upper echelons as a composer of songs. His diverse cultural life led a rich and significant musical life, interacting with his contemporaries who admired his work, and whom Gouvy knew well, such as Liszt, Brahms, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Berlioz and Gounod.

Guitar - Digital Download SKU: ZZ.DZ-4330 Composed by Alfredo Franco. Arranged by Cristiano Porqueddu. Score. 7 pages. Les Productions d'OZ - Digital #DZ 4330. Published by Les Productions d'OZ - Digital (ZZ.DZ-4330). The underlying concept is that of dreaming. The first section, Dreaming, which is static and meditative in character, is further divided into several parts, which, looking at the processes of dream narrative, present, in addition to the initial theme, short melodies of lyrical/melancholic character, ready to interrupt before reaching a possible development, to leave room for further suggestions. The short themes are repeated several times, including in the final section, which is a reprise, condensed and varied from the first.By contrast, the middle section, Nightmaring, has a strongly contrasting character to the preceding one, rhythmically marked and searchingly percussive, sardonic in the variety of figurations employed in the different registers of the instrument.A technically intricate section that demands of the performer the choice of appropriate solutions, and closes with a frenetic accumulation of fragments. The most perturbing part of the dream.

Louise Farrenc was a profoundly influential French composer, performer, professor, and author. Though she would ultimately become quite a sought-after performer, her potential as a composer was recognized quite early on. Women were not permitted to enroll in conventional composition classes at the Conservatoire de Paris at the time, but, she did receive private lessons from Anton Reicha, the professor of composition there. Years later she would receive a permanent appointment as Professor of Piano at the same institution, a position she held for thirty years. She was the only woman during the 19th century to bear that title. Her piano etudes possess pedagogical value as well as great beauty and character. These works lend themselves quite well to the guitar duo setting. While I have rendered all of Farrenc’s melodies quite faithfully, I have taken liberties with the accompaniments in order to make them more idiomatic to the guitar. Likewise, many of the effects of which the guitar is capable have been brought to bear in ways that deviate from the original intent of the etude. Alternatively, the challenges that some of these etudes were meant to address for the piano student are amplified by this adaptation. For example, etude 5 is intended to enable the piano student to improve the coordination between their left and right hands. It certainly presents a challenge in that regard to the guitar duo! These selections are entirely suitable for guitarists with limited experience, though they could, of course, be beautifully realized by players with a great deal more experience as well.

Score and parts. 12 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #6359041. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534711). SONATA NO. 8 IN A MINOR I. [Allegro]II. Minuetto e Trio The composer and harpsichordist Anne-Louise Brillon de Jouy was born in Paris in 1744, and died in 1824 in Villers-sur-Mer in Normandie. She married Jacques Brillon de Jouy 22 years her senior, and had two daughters, Cunégonde and Aldegonde, Anne-Louise Brillon de Jouy had a salon in Passy whose guests included the violinist Jean-Pierre Pagin and cellist and composer Luigi Boccherini. Benjamin Franklin was also a frequent vistor and Madame Brillon has an extensive correspondence with him, including the period after his stay in Paris during the American Revolution .Many of her compositions were purchased in 1957 by the American Philosophical Society of Philadelphia, in honor of this friendship. In 2021, French Pianist Nicolas Horvath recorded a landmark CD for Grand Piano (GP872-73) of Brillon’s keyboard noatas with extensive notes by Aliette de Laleu, Deborah Hayes and Nicolas Horvath and Christine de Pas The keyboard sonatas published here are intended to document this reocrding. The twelve numbered sonatas, marked “Troisième Recueil de Sonates pour le pianoforte ou clavecin avec accompagnement d’un viiolon ad libitumâ€, are in the hand of a copyist and are contained in a bound volume labeled as her Troisième Recueil (‘Third Collection’) and dedicated to Mesdemoiselles Brillon. Evidently the composer at some point chose these 12 sonatas to be copied as a sampling of her work for her two daughters. The manuscript is in the collection of the American Philosopical Society in Philadelphia.
