Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio - Digital Download SKU: A0.892014 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by C. Burdzinski. Children,Folk,Patriotic. 11 pages. Carrie Burdzinski #3478655. Published by Carrie Burdzinski (A0.892014). This arrangement for three like instruments (soprano recorders, flutes, oboes, etc.) explores the traditional haunting lullaby with tinges of sadness, lightness, and beauty. In Variation 1, the standard melody is enhanced with embellishments and accompanied by arpeggios in the third voice. Variation 2 is a steady swing in 6/8 time. Variation 3 is a rhythmic section that feels somewhat like a Scottish reel. Variation 4 is light and sprightly, with all voices playing eighth notes in unison. Variation 5 ends the piece as a soft, pretty finale. This arrangement is best suited for advanced musicians. Run time is approximately 5:05. A live multitrack MP3 recording, performed by the arranger on soprano recorders, is included on this page. Special honor: This arrangement was featured on Kindermusik of the Valley, a unique music and movement program for children and their families.Sheet music includes conductor's score plus individual sheets for three soprano recorders (or flutes, oboes, etc.) 2018 Chamber Music Contest Entry

Small Ensemble Bass Clef Instrument,Bass Trombone,Euphonium,Tenor Trombone,Trombone/Baritone B.C.,Tuba - Digital Download SKU: A0.961197 Composed by Irving Berlin. Arranged by Robert Coil. 20th Century,Broadway,Jazz,Musical/Show,Pop. Score and parts. 17 pages. Polished Brass #4350025. Published by Polished Brass (A0.961197). This arrangement for 4 like instruments was created with a Trombone quartet in mind, but has also served well for a tuba/euphonium quartet. This could work for other ensembles, such as a a bassoon ensemble. With chords in the bass trombone part for easy addition of a rhythm section, this could be jazzed up a little by some creative players. Irving Berlin emigrated to the United States in 1893 at the age of 5 with his parents, fleeing Jewish persecution in Russia. He died in 1989 with over 1500 songs to his credit. The published version of the song, A Pretty Girl Is Like A Melody, was an excerpt from a longer version used in the Ziegfeld Follies. It was the hit song of the 1919 Follies and became the theme song. It was also used frequently in Miss America pageants prior to 1955. Berlin believed this song was in the top 5 of the hundreds of songs he wrote. The arranger, Bob Coil, is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of music, where he studied bass trombone with Betty Glover. Dr. Coil is the leader of the Bones of Cincinnatus trombone ensemble in Cincinnati, OH.

Alto Voice,Bass Voice,Soprano voice,Tenor Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1318619 Composed by Phillips Brooks and Lewis H Redner. Arranged by Connie Boss. A Cappella,Christian,Christmas,Holiday. 9 pages. Connie Boss #907297. Published by Connie Boss (A0.1318619). This version is for SATB voices. It has the original melody with pretty harmonies added. There are solo, duet and complete choir singing the words. Humming and ahhs are used for the solo and duets. The melody is more for an alto range. I have also added additions to each verse that is different than the original with new lyrics and music. It adds a little bit to this iconic song. For any questions or requests, email cdboss@cvalley.netLyrics below:O little town of BethlehemHow still we see Thee lieAbove Thy deep and dreamless sleepThe silent stars go byYet in thy dark streets shinethThe everlasting lightThe hopes and fears of all the yearsAre met in Thee tonight Shepherds watching o’re their flocksSaw a light star downThen they noticed that it’s lightLit up a little townFor Christ is born of MaryAnd, gathered all aboveWhile mortals sleep, the angels keepTheir watch of wondering loveO morning stars, togetherProclaim the Holy birthAnd praises sing to God the KingAnd peace to men on earthShepherds followed the bright starAnd they were so amazedPeople gathered all aroundSinging hymns of praiseO Holy Child of BethlehemDescend to us, we prayCast out our sin and enter inBe born for us todayWe hear the Christmas angelsThe great glad tidings tellO come to us, abide with usOur Lord EmmanuelIn a stable was a childBorn for all to seeHis mother always by His sideThe newborn Prince of peaceO little town of BethlehemHow still we see Thee lieAbove Thy deep and dreamless sleepThe silent stars go by.

Instrumental Solo - Level 3 - Interactive Download SKU: A0.1491461 By Traditional. By Traditional. Arranged by James Baker. This edition: Interactive Download. Folk,Jazz,Pop. Individual part. 4 pages. Duration 107. Wicked Keys #4ii4YHthMVISlmHTTErlxx. Published by Wicked Keys (A0.1491461). Key: F major. Can't lie, we were pretty proud of ourselves when we wrote this arrangement. This is a modern take on a classic kids track featuring typical pop/rock chord voicing's over a constant F pedal in the left hand. Over the first section we get simple melody over a single note being played in the LH, before some more creative thinking takes over and the RH and LH work together to create melody, pulse, and harmony. There are some gorgeous chord voicings and interesting timing changes in this piece. We're sure your students will love it as much as we do.

2 voices and piano - intermediate - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q47807 Das Liederspiel. Composed by Engelbert Humperdinck. This edition: single sheet. Singspiel version - fairy tale - Brothers Grimm - folk song - piano reduction - Hansel - Gretel - witch. Downloadable, Separate edition. Duration 55 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q47807. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q47807). German. When Engelbert Humperdinck’s fairy tale opera Hänsel und Gretel was premiered on 23 December 1893 in Weimar conducted by Richard Strauss, the work could look back on an extensive history of origin.Humperdinck’s younger sister Adelheid Wette (born in 1858) had displayed a great interest in literature in her youth and written a variety of poems for special occasions. In 1888, she wrote a fairy tale entitled Schneewittchen [Snow White] and her brother supplied some songs for this piece. Further fairy tale collaborations followed which were customarily performed within the family circle, and the first draft of the Hänsel und Gretel was begun in 1890. Adelheid’s husband would be celebrating his 34th birthday on 16 May of this year and his wife intended to surprise him with a performance of her version of this fairy tale. Her brother was allotted the task of composing the accompanying songs and, a month before the birthday, she wrote a letter to him in Mainz where Engelbert Humperdinck was among other activities working as an editor for the Schott publishing house, ordering a “very pretty folkloric†Tanzlied [Dance song], a Waldlied [Forest song] (or Echolied [Echo song]), a Schlummerlied [Lullaby] and a Kickericki-Lied [Cock-a-doodle-doo song] from her “dear sugar-sweet little brother... Engel-Bärtchen [angel beard]â€. She enclosed the corresponding verses with the letter and “for fun†also provided her own invented melody for the Schlummerlied and rhythmic suggestions for the Tanzlied. Humperdinck went straight to work and, as related in an entry in his diary, was already able to play the songs to the director of the publishing house, Dr Ludwig Strecker, by 19 April. This was the history of origin of the four songs published for the first time edited in form of their original versions in this edition Brüderchen komm’ tanz’ mit mir, Wer ruft mir im Walde doch alles nach, In den Zweigen die Vögelein und Tirelireli! ‘s ist nicht mehr früh “for two children’s voices and piano accompaniment†(see manuscript1). In his reply letter to his sister in which the fair copy of the songs were enclosed, Humperdinck wrote: “As you see, the pitch of the melodies is not too high and I have incorporated your melodies. Let me know soon whether you like the little songs. By the way, the ‘cock-a-doodle-doo’ can also be sung on one note(E flat) instead of on the four notes of the chord.â€The first performance of the song-play was held as planned within the family circle with Wettes’ two eldest daughters in the two principle roles. Spurred on by the success of the family performance, initial plans were forged to adapt the song-play into a singspiel with numerous musical numbers and rhymed dialogues; Hermann Wette participated in a draft of the text. The particell of this singspiel had been completed by Christmas 1890. Hugo Wolf and a few others however advised the composer to extend the singspiel into a through-composed fairy tale opera. Humperdinck followed this advice and worked on what he ironically termed as a “Kinderstubenweihfestspiel“ [sacred festive play for the nursery] during the next two summers in Bayreuth. Tanzliedchen [Dance song] and Morgenweckruf [Cock-a-doodle-doo song] were eventually included in the opera in a modified form.

Acoustic Guitar,Instrumental Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.1167701 Composed by Traditional/Anonymous. Arranged by Socrates Arvanitakis. Classical,Early Music,Folk,Traditional. Individual part. 42 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #768069. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1167701). This is the thirtieth-fourth volume of an extensive collection of folk songs arranged for the classical guitar mostly in two-part counterpoint. The arrangements are of moderate difficulty and the aims of this publication are to familiarise, entertain and educate guitarists (and other musicians) with a melodic repertoire of lasting aesthetic value, under the light of contrapuntal treatment. The thirty five volumes of this collection can certainly be printed on paper if so desired and there are a few pages in each volume, either blank or with photographs of various musicians, which can be inserted at will in any place for the correct ordering of left and right hand pages so that page turns can be avoided. The principle of avoiding page turns has been maintained in all  volumes, but this edition is also designed with mobile electronic devices in mind such as tablets etc, using the environment and facilities of a score reading application, towards a paperless world, at least in music. Therefore the size of the staves is bigger than usual for ease of reading on a small screen but not big enough to exceed the limit of a two-page view.Active internal links for navigating from thematic indexes to particular songs and back to indexes have been added, and also external internet links to sites that give further information for the 945 songs of this first collection for classical guitar.Volume 34 (Songs 892-918)Villikins and his DinahWaltzing MatildaWark o’ the Weavers (the)Water of Tyne (the)Watercress Girl (the)Watts’s Cradle Song 1Watts’s Cradle Song 2Watts’s Cradle Song 3We Wish You A Merry ChristmasWe’ve been a while a-wanderingWealthy Young Farmer (the)Weaver (the)Westering HomeWhat is the life of a manWhat You Gonna Call Yo’ Pretty Little BabyWhen Adam was First CreatedWhen Jones’s Ale was NewWhile Shepherds Watched (Liverpool)Whilst The Gamekeepers Lie SleepingWhite CockadeWhite Hare (the)Who will you give me to sail awayWho’ll be King but CharlieWho’s the fool nowWiddecombe FairWild Moor (the)Wild White Rose (the).

Piano Solo - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.900005 Composed by Jeanne Allie. Concert,Instructional,Standards. Score. 1 pages. Jeanne Allie #6492771. Published by Jeanne Allie (A0.900005). A pretty piece in A minor for the early piano student. Adult students especially enjoy this lyrical little piece. The A minor setting makes the minor key, which so many adults enjoy, accessible to early students. Growing edge features for the early pianist are a few simple position changes that are marked with fingering notations and the hands taking turns with the melody.

This gentle and romantic piece, with interweaving melodies is inspired by Prévert's poem Le Bouquet. Que faites-vous là petite filleAvec ces fleurs fraîchement coupées?Que faites-vous là jeune filleAvec ces fleurs ces fleurs séchées?Que faites-vous là jolie femmeAvec ces fleurs qui se fanent?Que faites-vous là vieille femmeAvec ces fleurs qui meurent?J'attends le vainqueurWhat are you doing there, little girl,With those freshly cut flowers? What are you doing there, young girl,With those dried flowers? What are you doing there, pretty woman,With those faded flowers? What are you doing there, old woman,With those dying flowers?I'm waiting for the victorious one.

Cello - Digital Download SKU: A0.1103222 By Ölveti Mátyás and Mády-Szabó Eszter. By David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical. Full Performance. Duration 190. David Warin Solomons #706118. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1103222). Duo inspired by a poem by Jacques Prévert: Le Bouquet Que faites-vous là petite fille Avec ces fleurs fraîchement coupées? Que faites-vous là jeune fille Avec ces fleurs ces fleurs séchées? Que faites-vous là jolie femme Avec ces fleurs qui se fanent? Que faites-vous là vieille femme Avec ces fleurs qui meurent? J'attends le vainqueur [What are you doing there, little girl, With those freshly cut flowers ? What are you doing there, young girl, With those dried flowers ? What are you doing there, pretty woman, With those faded flowers ? What are you doing there, old woman, With those dying flowers ? I'm waiting for the victorious one] In my mind there were initially several possible interpretations of the poem My original thoughts were that le vainqueur means the conquering Christ and that the woman is waiting all her life with flowers before a church - waiting in vain for her saviour another possibility is that the woman is waiting for the winner of her affections it could even be that le vainqueur refers to the invading German army but this would not explain the fact that she waits all her life but, finally, as Raphaèle Larazoni suggests, (and more plausibly in view of other poems by Prévert) the vainqueur is simply the winner in a war - there is never really a winner in a war, so the woman waits all her life in vain.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1270160 By Arlo Guthrie. By Arlo Guthrie. Arranged by Craig Hanson. A Cappella,Comedy,Folk. Octavo. 6 pages. Edition Craig Hanson #862589. Published by Edition Craig Hanson (A0.1270160). For TTBB chorus a cappella and solo voice. As performed by Arlo Guthrie.Wanna hear something? You know that Indians never ate clams. They didn't have linguini! And so what happened was that clams was allowed to grow unmolested in the coastal waters of America for millions of years. And they got big, and I ain't talking about clams in general, I'm talking about each clam! Individually. I mean each one was a couple of million years old or older. So imagine they could have got bigger than this whole room. And when they get that big, God gives them little feet so that they could walk around easier. And when they get feet, they get dangerous. I'm talking about real dangerous. I ain't talking about sitting under the water waiting for you. I'm talking about coming after you.Imagine being on one of them boats coming over to discover America, like Columbus or something, standing there at night on watch, everyone else is either drunk or asleep. And you're watching for America and the boat's going up and down. And you don't like it anyhow but you gotta stand there and watch, for what? Only he knows, and he ain't watching. You hear the waves lapping against the side of the ship. The moon is going behind the clouds. You hear the pitter patter of little footprints on deck. ‘Is that you kids?’ It ain't! My god! It's this humongous, giant clam!Imagine those little feet coming on deck. A clam twice the size of the ship. Feet first. You're standing there shivering with fear, you grab one of these. This is a belaying pin. They used to have these stuck in the holes all around the ship… You probably didn't know what this is for; you probably had an idea, but you were wrong. They used to have these stuck in the holes all along the sides of the ship, everywhere. You wouldn't know what this is for unless you was that guy that night.I mean, you'd grab this out of the hole, run on over there, bam bam on them little feet! Back into the ocean would go a hurt, but not defeated, humongous, giant clam. Ready to strike again when opportunity was better. You know not even the coastal villages was safe from them big clams. You know them big clams had an inland range of about 15 miles. Think of that. I mean our early pioneers and the settlers built little houses all up and down the coast you know. A little inland and stuff like that and they didn't have houses like we got now, with bathrooms and stuff. They built little privies out back. And late at night, maybe a kid would have to go, and he'd go stomping out there in the moonlight. And all they'd hear for miles around...(loud clap/belch).... One less kid for America. One more smiling, smurking, humongous, giant clam.So Americans built forts. Them forts --you know—them pictures of them forts with the wooden points all around. You probably thought them points was for Indians but that's stupid! 'Cause Indians know about doors. But clams didn't. Even if a clam knew about a door, so what? A clam couldn't fit in a door. I mean, he'd come stomping up to a fort at night, put them feet on them points, jump back crying, tears coming out of them everywhere. But Americans couldn't live in forts forever. You couldn't just build one big fort around America. How would you go to the beach? So what they did was they formed groups of people. I mean they had groups of people all up and down the coast form these little alliances. Like up North it was call the Clamshell Alliance. And farther down South it was called the Catfish Alliance. They had these Alliances all up and down the coast defending themselves against these threatening monsters. These humongous giant clams. Andt hey'd go out there, if there was maybe fifteen of them they'd be singing songs in fifteen part harmony. And when one part disappeared, that's how they knew where the clam would be.Which is why Americans only sing in four part harmony to this very day. That proved to be too dangerous. See, what they did was they'd be singing these songs called Clam Chanties, and they'd have these big spears called clampoons. And they'd be walking up and down the beach and the method they eventually devised where they'd have this guy, the most strongest heavy duty true blue American, courageous type dude they could find and they'd have him out there walking up and down the beach by himself with other chicken dudes hiding behind the sand dunes somewhere. He'd be singing the verses. They'd be singing the chorus, and clams would hear 'em. And clams hate music. So clams would come out of the water and they'd come after this one guy. And all you'd see pretty soon was flying all over the sand flying up and down the beach manmanclamclammanmanclam manclamclamman up and down the beach going this way and that way up the hills in the water out of the water behind the trees everywhere. Finally the man would jump over a big sand dune, roll over the side, the clam would come over the dune, fall in the hole and fourteen guys would come out there and stab the shit out of him with their clampoons. That's the way it was. That was one way to deal with them. The other way was to weld two clams together. [I don't believe it. I'm losing it. Hey. What can you do. Another night shot to hell.] Hey, this was serious back then. This was very serious. I mean these songs now are just piddly folk songs. But back then these songs were controversial. These was radical, almost revolutionary songs. Because times was different and clams was a threat to America. That's right. So we want to sing this song tonight about the one last... You see what they did was there was one man, he was one of these men, his name will always be remembered, his name was Reuben Clamzo, and he was one of the last great clam men there ever was. He stuck the last clam stab. The last clampoon into the last clam that was ever seen on this continent. Knowing he would be out of work in an hour. He did it anyway so that you and me could go to the beach in relative safety. That's right. Made America safe for the likes of you and me. And so we sing this song in his memory. He went into whaling like most of them guys did and he got out of that, when he died. You know, clams was much more dangerous than whales. Clams can run in the water, on the water or on the ground, and they are so big sometimes that they can jump and they can spread their kinda shells and kinda almost fly like one of them flying squirrels. You could be standing there thinking that your perfectly safe and all of a sudden whop.... That's true... And so this is the song of this guy by the name of Reuben Clamzo and the song takes place right after he stabbed this clam and the clam was, going through this kinda death dance over on the side somewhere. The song starts there and he goes into whaling and takes you through the next...I sing the part of the guy on the beach by himself. I go like this: Poor old Reuben Clamzo and you go Clamzo Boys Clamzo. That's the part of the fourteen chicken dudes over on the other side. That's what they used to sing. They'd be calling these clams out of the water. Like taunting them making fun of them. Clams would get real mad and come out. Here we go. I want you to sing it in case you ever have an occasion to join such an alliance. You know some of these alliances are still around. Still defending America against things like them clams. If you ever wants to join one, now you have some historic background. So you know where these guys are coming from. It's not just some 60's movement or something, these things go back a long time.Notice the distinction you're going to have to make now between the first and easy Clamzo Boys Clamzo and the more complicated Clamzo Me Boys Clamzo. Stay serious! Folk songs are serious. That's what Pete Seeger told me. Arlo I only want to tell you one thing... Folk songs are serious. I said right. Let's do it in C for Clam...Iet's do it in B... For boy that's a big clam... Iet' s do it in G for Gee, I hope that big clam don't see me. Let's do it in F... For …he sees me. Let's do it back in A...for a clam is coming. Better get this song done quick. The Story of Reuben Clamzo and His Strange Daughter in the Key of A.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1335109 Composed by Lee Mendelson and Vince Guaraldi. Arranged by Timothy Stapay. Broadway,Christmas,Film/TV,Musical/Show,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. Score. 3 pages. Timothy Stapay #920955. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1335109). Christmas Time Is Here from the animated movie A Charlie Brown Christmas. This arrangement is embellished with laces of notes that inspire the Spirit of Christmas. This song has long been a favorite of mine; and I've arranged the music as I usually play it; with my improvisations.Christmas Time Is Here was composed by jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi to accompany the opening of the 1965 television special A Charlie Brown Christmas. It was originally written as an instrumental, but producer Lee Mendelson decided that the song needed lyrics. Mendelson recalled, When we looked at the show about a month before it was to go on the air, I said, 'That's such a pretty melody; maybe we should try and find some people to put some lyrics to it.' When he was unable to find someone available, he wrote the lyrics himself:So I sat down with an envelope — I'll never forget this — at our kitchen table and wrote 'Christmas Time Is Here' in about ten minutes. It was a poem that just came to me — never changed the words to this day. It was only about a minute long. And Vince got a bunch of little kids together to sing it.

This is a super fun little arrangement that's pretty simple/groove based - there's light divisi in the Alto's, and then a split Soprano part, making it best for SSAB voicing.

Arranged by Kyle Pudenz. 21st Century,Contemporary,Country,Wedding. Chords/Lyrics. 5 pages. ViolinVagabond Music #908681. Published by ViolinVagabond Music (A0.1320152). Here's a chart designed for the last-minute gigging musician, by the last-minute gigging musician. I got called in to play this tune as an instrumental duo at a wedding. Admittedly, it takes a very specific type of wedding for this to be the vibe for the entrance of the bridesmaids, but perhaps you too may find yourself in this same situation. Fortunately I am here to help!Whether you're performing this with a vocalist or as an instrumental solo/ensemble like me, this chart has everything you need. Chords/lyrics version AND an instrumental (treble clef) lead sheet are included, all for the low low price of about 5 bucks. While I was tabbing this out from the perspective of a violinist, the range is pretty universal and should be playable on just about any treble clef instrument. Including the viola... although if you got hired to play solo viola at a wedding or a cocktail hour I have questions. My promises to you if you buy this chart:- THE CHORDS ARE RIGHT. I honestly can't believe there are people that get the chords to songs like these wrong on their arrangements, but here we are. Rest assured I am not one of them.- YOU CAN ACTUALLY READ IT. Finale collisions and terrible interpretations of vocal rhythms need not apply here.- THE MELODY WILL WORK ON YOUR INSTRUMENT. Again, this is not one of those hyper-transcriptions of every little vocal ornament that was sang on the studio version. I purposefully chose where to simplify vs. embellish the melody so that there's room for instrumental interpretation without getting lost in the details.May this humble arranger's last-minute busy work bring joy to your audience and at least an extra 30 minutes of sleep to you by not having to learn this song the night before the gig. Enjoy the hustle, friends.

Indeed, I got called in to sub on a solo violin wedding gig on less than 24 hours' notice, and found this song right at the top of the list. Having not played or listened to it in... a while, I decided to display some semblance of due dilligence and write out a version that would work in the range of a solo instrumental violin. Then, and don't ask me where this sudden magnanimous streak came from, I decided to spin up the same chart with lyrics and chord diagrams just in case I ever needed to play it with a vocalist.Out of the goodness of my heart, ALL of the above is available to you for the low low price of (insert current minimum price for SMP chart). While I was tabbing this out from the perspective of a violinist, the range is pretty universal and should be playable on just about any treble clef instrument.
