Maestra Music's piano etudes were composed with students in mind, in keys and patterns that are easy and fun to play, yet invoke the evocative spirit and soul of Romantic/Classical music, in a form that is accessible to all. Just as the soundtrack sets the tone of the scene in a movie, the compositions of Maestra Music intend to set the stage for the creative mind to flourish.

It is my hope to spark the desire to learn, study and create by exploring and sharing music that inspires students to reflect, find and express the voice of their soul. These are 12 original and ambient flute and piano duets with a different piece for every major key beginning with C major and each number moving a half step higher till number 12 in B major. These are all relaxing and romantic composition in quiet and calm styles and are somewhat a set of etudes encouraging the violinist and pianist to play similar styles in some keys that that may not be favorites. However, professional musicians have to play in every key and students would be well served play all and not avoid certain keys. All of these have piano tracks that may be used for performance or rehearsal and can be found under "Quietude No. 1 Piano Track" and just changing the number to find the right track. The MP3 is of No. 1 while the YouTube link is of number 9 in A flat major. There are separate flute parts for every piece. Most of the piano parts as seen can also serve as stand alone solos. Quarantine Etudes for Violin by Dr. Piotr Szewczyk

All major etude books for violin, including those by Mazas, Kreutzer, Dont and
others, are firmly rooted in romantic harmonic language; minor and major triads,
arpeggios, diminished and augmented chords, dominant 7th etc.

A 21st Century violinist will encounter a much more varied musical language.
Those standard etudes don?t prepare students for octatonic scales, various
modes, whole tone scales, rapid chromatic twists and turns, atonality, extended
jazz harmonies etc. that are a big part of contemporary music.

I created these bite-sized etudes to help students experience different musical
languages and go against the ingrained familiar patterns their fingers are used to.
I hope they will be fun and adventurous challenge for violin students of all ages.

Here are 18 Etudes, Opus 51, from the Romantic Era by MauroGiuliani transcribed for the baritone ukulele. Most are also playable on the tenor and soprano ukulele and, of course,may also be played on the guitar. Thepieces are fairly easy, to begin with, and progress to more difficult pieces asyou learn. The 120 Melodious Etudes of Marco Bordogni were introduced in a three-volume set in 1928 by Trombonist Joannes Rochut and have been used for almost 100 years as pedagogical tools primarily in the low brass world. Their bel canto style, using beautiful tone and precise legato are their hallmark.

Bass Trombonist Nir Fishkin has artfully arranged 10 Melodious Etudes for Brass Quintet which are suitable for moderately advanced performers. The arrangements spread the melody around between the five parts.

The Trumpet parts are in B-flat.

The Bordogni vocalises have been used by generations of low brass performers to learn legato technique, phrasing, endurance, bel canto style, expression, and breath control. They sound beautiful and are fun to play!

Ran Whitley has beautifully arranged another ten of the Melodious Etudes, numbers 41-50 for Trombone Quartet. All in bass clef, these are appropriate for intermediate to advanced performers. The entire melody line is in part 1 with parts 2, 3, and 4 accompanying.
