Four ForcesReviewsScherzohttps://scherzo.es/badajoz-vanguardias-lugarenas/Periodico Extremadurahttps://www.elperiodicoextremadura.com/noticias/badajoz/fuerzas_1214372.html NotesThis work was commissioned by Extremadura Orchestra for Percussion and Chamber orchestra. It has two movements. The first one has been done for mallets and the second one was built on a base of a drums work (GEA).The duration of those movements is 26 minutes, being around 11 minutes the first and 15 minutes the second one.The chamber music is formed by:Woodwind quintet (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn & Bassoon)Brasswind quintet (Trumpet 1, Trumpet 2, Horn, Trombone & Tuba)Strings orchestraThree firsts violinsThree seconds violinsThree violasTwo cellosFor the second movement is high recommendable to enlarge the strings, a good number of musician could be doubling.I. Strong ForcesThe work is inspired by the four fundamental forces of nature. These forces explain any phenomena which can be produced in the universe.Throughout all composition, it is latent the mathematic construction based in the series Fibonacci. In the first of the movements, Fibonacci's series is present in the notes' sequence that forms the series of 16 sounds and it is going to be present throughout the whole work. This series is taking form along the movement and it is getting melody and harmony.Although it is far away from the sonata form, as we know it in its period of highest glory, it takes elements of it and updates to our days. In this movement, we can find sonata form elements as the exposition, development, transitions or coda. The central part of the first movement becomes in the slow movement, being more intimate and lyrical, free of the serials ties although it uses resources before cited -now called common practice-.The movement finish with a short re-exposition that concludes with the virtuosic of the soloist doubling the series and adding more tension until conforming the series in its full whole.II. Weak ForcesIt is the most tribal of both movements. Its structure is more complex and in it, we also can find clear reminiscences to the sonata form.We can divide the movement into two big blocks. The first one is formed for the introduction and sections one and two.IntroducciónIt is based in one ostinato of three notes where the accent is changing provoking unsymmetric, this ostinato represents the nucleus of our existence. The piccolo and the trombone introduce us to the human element representing the two elements that form the development of the whole movement. The two elements of thematics are taken from the series, the first one is easily recognizable because it appears in his primary form.First section & cadenzaIn this movement, the rhythm, the melody, and the harmony are based on the sequence of Fibonacci. As the theme ostinato of the soloist as the melody is formed under the rhythm of 1, 2, 3 and 5. This section leads us to the second section with a clear mode of cadence. In the cadenza, the elements of the rhythm are varied freely with an accompaniment of the Spring Drum.DevelopmentIt is formed by two Rondo sub-sections in which the solo part has been created through the mirror technique. Both sections have the next form:Intro-A-B-A-B-(B(minor)+A)Intro-A-B-A-B-(B(major)+A)First section & CodaThe movement ends with the repetition of the first section and the final code.

Concert Band - Level 2 - SKU: A0.917410 Composed by Gregory Fritze. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Score and parts. 267 pages. Musica Nova USA #6078853. Published by Musica Nova USA (A0.917410). Sinfonietta (alternate title SinfonÃa de Vino y Aceite de Magallon) is a composition for concert band that can be played by any band whether it has 100 players or 30 players. It is at grade 3 level of difficulty and has several substitute parts for ensembles that may not have complete instrumentation. Although the scoring includes piccolo, oboes, bassoons, and French horns, these instruments are not needed to command a good performance.Sinfonietta adheres to classical forms of symphonies by composers such as Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven. The forms are very clear so the players of the band can learn this important history. The first movement is in standard Sonata Allegro form. The second movement is in A B A form and features a solo trumpet. The third movementis in a Rondo form (A B A C A) with three distinct themes. The work was commissioned in 2017 by the town of Magallón, Spain in celebration of the town’s industries of wine and olive oil. The mayor of the town of 1,000 inhabitants, Victor Manuel Chueca Rodriguez, was specific in his request for a composition at grade 3 level of difficulty. He also suggested the title as Symphony. Since it a three-movement composition instead of a four-movement composition (the normal Minuet and Trio movement is not included in this piece), the title of Sinfonietta instead of Symphony is used.Gregory Fritzeis a prize-winning composer and Fulbright Scholar, as well as an active performer and conductor. His compositions have been performed more than one thousand times in over twenty-six countries. He has written over ninety compositionsfor orchestra, band, chamber ensemblesand soloists. He has won over sixty composition awards both nationally and internationally, including First Prize in the 1st WASBE (World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles) International Composition Contest2017, First Prize Winner of Reneé Fisher Composition Prize, First Prize Winner in Concurso Bienal de Composición de Musica para Banda, Ciudad de Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Spain), Menzione d'Onore (highest award given) of the Mario Bernardo Angelo-Comneno International Music Competition by the Accademia Angelica Costantiniana Arti E Scienze (Italy), First Prize in the TUBA International Etude Composition Competition, the IBLA Grand Prize (Italy), 2nd Prize in the 2nd WASBE International Composition Contest 2019, several awards from The American Prize, annual composition awards from Standard Awards Panel of American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers and many others. He has been commissioned by The Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, The Army Band Pershing’s Own of Washington, DC, The Banda Municipal of Bilbao, The Primativa de Lliria, and others. His compositions include works published by several publishers in the United States, South America and Europe and have been performed extensively throughout the world. He has thirty-three compositions commercially recorded on Albany Records, MSR Classics, Crystal Records, Mark Records and others. He has been a guest lecturer, conductor and performer at many colleges, universities and music festivals in the United States, Canada, Japan, South America and Europe. He was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1954 and has Composition degrees from the Boston Conservatory and Indiana University. He now resides in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - SKU: A0.790152 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Diamond S Music. Classical,Concert. Score. 14 pages. Diamond S Music #4269079. Published by Diamond S Music (A0.790152). Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op. 13 - 1st Movement, commonly known as Sonata Pathétique, was written in 1798 when the composer was 27 years old, and was published in 1799. It has remained one of his most celebrated compositions. Although commonly thought to be one of the few works to be named by the composer himself, it was actually named Grande sonate pathétique (to Beethoven's liking) by the publisher, who was impressed by the sonata's tragic sonorities. Prominent musicologists debate whether or not the Pathétique may have been inspired by Mozart's piano sonata K. 457, since both compositions are in C minor and have three very similar movements. The second movement, Adagio cantabile, especially, makes use of a theme remarkably similar to that of the spacious second movement of Mozart's sonata. However, Beethoven's sonata uses a unique motif line throughout, a major difference from Haydn or Mozart’s creation. This is the original Beethoven arrangement of this sonata., commonly known as Sonata Pathétique, was written in 1798 when the composer was 27 years old, and was published in 1799. Chamber Orchestra - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1412646 By Brent C Robitaille. By Brent C Robitaille. 21st Century,Classical. 83 pages. Brent C Robitaille #994677. Published by Brent C Robitaille (A0.1412646). One Second to the Future (Guitar Orchestra) Composer: Brent Robitaille  • “One Second to the Future†is a two-movement piece for either a single or optional double guitar orchestra with four separate parts for electric guitar and classical guitar. Two optional steel string guitar and electric bass parts are available but may be substituted if these instruments are unavailable. The total score will be around 500 measures with a running time of approximately 12-15 minutes. The piece is quite approachable for intermediate-level guitarists, with the more challenging sections arranged for the 1st and 2nd parts of the electric and classical guitar. Three overhead mics from the stage will be used to spatialize the sound into a stereo or surround sound system.  • The first movement starts with a fixed audio shortwave recording from the Canadian time signal shortwave station CHU, gently fading in for approximately 20 seconds before the guitar orchestra begins with natural and artificial harmonics.  • The second fixed audio track gently enters around the 1:00-minute mark. This track was recorded using eight amplified and non-amplified guitars in altered tunings with eight separate microphones to integrate into stereo or surround sound. The guitar's open strings were left to vibrate sympathetically as the volume increased and struck on the headstock with various rubber and metal sticks, violin bows or paint brushes to get the strings vibrating. The resulting wave files were then imported into a sampling program and filtered into the overtone series with “C†as the fundamental, emphasising the first 14 partials. This recording will be used intermittently throughout the first movement, acting primarily as a background pad.   • At approximately 3:00 minutes into the first movement, the players are asked to use a glass or metal slide to tap out rhythms based on the international Morse code. Several other standard slide guitar techniques are also integrated into this section. See instructions in the score. The first movement ends with both fixed audio tracks fading away.  • The second movement integrates a more traditional guitar playing and composition approach. Its bulk is at a robust tempo of 160 bpm and uses several rhythmic and timbral techniques, including sul tasto, sul ponticello, harmonics, golpe, string snaps, and the further use of guitar slides.  • Midway through the second movement, a rallentando proceeds to a section indicated by the tempo mark “slow motion.†At this point, a third fixed audio recording of a single vibrating guitar string slowed down by 3000% will fade in. The orchestra is instructed to play with this recording in slow motion or approximately 30 bpm. See score for details. The orchestra eventually returns to the original tempo to finish the 2nd movement.  Technical Requirements • Three mono or stereo mics from the orchestra will be required and blended with the stereo or surround sound. • A standard guitar delay and distortion pedal for electric guitar parts one and two is required. • Glass and metal guitar slides are required.   To download the fixed audio tracks, go here: https://soundcloud.com/kalymi/sets/one-second-to-the-future-guitar-orchestra-fixed-audio-tracks For fixed audio track information and information, contact me at:info@brentrobitaille.com.

Published by Christopher Benfield (A0.909877). Christopher Benfield's first piano sonata, Recluse, combines classical style with the emotional explosiveness found in much of his compositional style. Composed of three movements, this piece will challenge many pianists technically and expressively. Each movement explores the different aspects of being secluded from society; heart-wrenching loneliness in the first movement, furious activity in the second movement, and dream-like acceptance in the third movement. This music is a good addition to any piano recital, or a full performance of solely this work. This is the second movement of the sonata.

Published by Diamond S Music (A0.790154). Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op. 13 - 3rd Movement - Beethoven, commonly known as Sonata Pathétique, was written in 1798 when the composer was 27 years old, and was published in 1799. French Horn Solo - Level 5 - SKU: A0.912494 Composed by Thomas R. Schadl. Classical,Contemporary. Individual part. 3 pages. Thomas R. Schadl #3877233. Published by Thomas R. Schadl (A0.912494). Written in two movements for trumpet, horn in F and organ, the work starts with a slower introduction that is written in the key of B major, the dominant key of E major. Moreover, the first movement has imitative passages that are present in all the three instruments. Following the first movement that is written in the 4/4 time, the next movement, composed in the 6/8 time and in E major, is performed gracefully in a style of a pastorale. Like the previous movement, the second part is contrapuntal but it differs in its extensive use of the dialogue between the horn and trumpet. In performing the sonata, there should be balance among the brass instruments and the organ in regard to sound intensity and the speed. The trumpet tends to overpower the horn in passages marked f or louder, and the organist may adjust the registrations to keep the sound from overpowering the other two instruments. If this piece were to be performed in large concert halls or churches, the time that takes air to leave the organ chest to the pipes may be longer. Choice of speed should be rehearsed carefully. The organ registration itself is merely a suggestion and should not be taken too literally due to the design of the organ and the acoustics of the hall or church. Sonata For Trumpet, Horn And Organ is suitable for concert use. This work may be performed at any time of the year, especially Christmas, Post-Easter and general use.

Published by C. G. Davin Leonardo (A0.999166). Runner-up of SMP Press Composition Competition 2020 - Contemporary Choral Music CategoryThis entry is my choral composition on Latin Text O magnum mysterium. It contains three movements:1. O magnum - consists of the first stanza of the text, with Renaissance-like hymn style (SSATBB) (00:00).2. Beata Virgo - consists of the second stanza of the text, sung by the soloist (SATB Solo) (02:12).3. Fuga - Alleluia - consists of the final 'Alleluia' exclamation of the text. This part is a fugal composition with a Baroque-like style (SATB) (04:06).This composition reflects the mystery of the Incarnation of the Lord (first movement), the joy of Mother Mary after giving birth to the Lord while remembering the words of St. Elizabeth (second movement), and the exclamation of the faithful singing Alleluia continuously (third movement). This composition is accessible and suitable for student, school, or university choir, especially for Christmas Concert or Christmas Recital. But this composition is not ideal to be used in Mass since it has not received Nihil Obstat from any diocese.Audiomack: https://audiomack.com/cgdlEmail: https://davinleonardo.me/contact.htmlInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/cg_davin/Website: https://davinleonardo.me/

Seen in this way, a concert reflects a value system that pits the individual against the group and poses a struggle of I against you. Surely this vehemence could be explained in a Beethovenian era when the concepts of human rights and individual freedom were fragile ideals. However, it is a different scale of values that my piano concerto tries to reflect: the idea of cooperation, of teamwork and of an orchestra as a living organism whose organs are not superior to one another, more vital than others, but fulfil different functions, qualitatively speaking.Every soloist plays a leading role, but this does not imply either subordination to the rest or denigration or subjugation of the rest. The fact that the soloist is sometimes in the foreground does not imply a victory over the others. The very concept of victory is meaningless here.At times, the soloist will fulfil a leadership role, at others he or she will underpin from passivity what is happening in the orchestra, intentionally from the shadows, as a grey eminence. And at other times - why not - he will question what the majority is doing. It is not a rough relationship of me against you, but there is also a we.The composition and orchestration of this piano concerto was made possible by a grant from the Senator for Culture of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. This work was funded by an artist's grant as part of the Bremen-Corona-Hilfen programme. The premiere by the orchestra of the Bremer Orchestergemeinschaft is scheduled for the beginning of 2024. Duration: 17 to 20 minutes.

Violin Solo - Level 4 - SKU: A0.923945 Composed by James Watson. 20th Century. 6 pages. James Watson #3046553. Published by James Watson (A0.923945). This is a three movement pantonal work for unaccompanied solo violin. Each movement has it's own personality and character. The first begins freely and expressively in the beginning and builds momentum to a somewhat sporadic series of various motivic manipulations, ending in an aggressive, accelerating repetition of the motif, which can be heard in various places of the following two movements. The second movement, somewhat more quirky, is meant to provoke a sense of temporary confusion and disorientation. The pizzicato open G in the first few measures is the disorienting element, interrupting the melody every few beats. The rest of the piece gradually becomes more and more playful before slowing down as if unsure what lies ahead. The third movement is the shortest of the three. It begins very eerily and slightly chilling with a downward glissando on artificial and natural harmonics. It almost seems as if a character in a story is lost in an unfamiliar place, trying to find the way home. As the movement progresses, it builds in expression and intensity the way a light in the distance becomes closer as one walks closer to it. From this climax, to the end, it becomes gradually softer and slower, mimicking the burning embers of a dying fire, reminiscing of warmth and comfort.
