This String Trio has been written for general performance and above all for the pleasure of the performer. I am aiming for maximum flexibility for the performers. All written dynamics are not to be taken too literally. Never think too much about volume (eg pianissimo is quiet and forte is loud), but rather think about the application of the bow (as in softer bowing for pianissimo passages and stronger/heavy bowing for forte passages)and think of the rising and falling dynamics as breathing. Also there are no specific bowings (accept for a down bow at the beginning of each movement). I will leave that to the discretion of the performers so they can decide what works best for their playing styles and technical possibilities (there is no need to follow slurs to the letter providing the slurred passages are smooth as I intend). One more thing is that the software I used doesn't make key changes as visible as I like so I have written a note to indicate said key changes. I hope anyone who plays this receives maximum enjoyment from my composition. Happy music making!

The combined message of these two Easter hymns intertwined together provides a powerful moment of introspection and meditation regarding the work of Christ on the cross and how we are to interface with that. It should be performed with great care and sensitivity, taking the time for expression and reverence. The opening verse eighth notes need to be played lightly and effortlessly. By way of contrast, the key change provides opportunity for a strong musical statement, followed by a transition back to a quieter final contemplation of Were you there when they crucified my Lord. The ending requires extreme delicacy and practice to get the timing with the sustain pedal, and with the soft pedal down, to play the chords as lightly as possible while still having every note sound.

An arrangement of The End Of The World, a song covered by many famous artists. includingThe Carpenters; thanks to the phenomenal singing of Karen Carpenter. The End of the World was written by composer Arthur Kent and lyricist Sylvia Dee, who often worked as a team.The Carpenters (officially known as Carpenters were an American vocal and instrumental duo consisting of siblings Karen (1950–1983) and Richard Carpenter (born 1946). They produced a distinctive soft musical style, combining Karen's contralto vocals with Richard's harmonizing, arranging, and composition skills. During their 14-year career, the Carpenters recorded 10 albums along with many singles and several television specials. Karen possessed a powerful singing voice, and close miking brought out many nuances in her performances. Richard arranged their music to take advantage of this, though Karen had a three-octave vocal range. Richard's work with Karen was influenced by the music of Les Paul, whose overdubbing of the voice of wife and musical partner Mary Ford allowed her to be used as both the lead and harmony vocals.[6] By multi-tracking, Richard was able to use Karen and himself for the harmonies to back Karen's lead. The overdubbed background harmonies were distinctive to the Carpenters, but it was the soulful, engaging sound of Karen's lead voice that made them so recognizable. Record executive Mike Curb said it was Karen's voice that took the Carpenters above straight pop music into pop rock.  She was known as a one take wonder and could deliver a strong performance on the first attempt.Richard Carpenter was the creative force behind the Carpenters' sound. Latin.For his choral piece Cum enim quietum silentium contineret omnia, ..., the composer, choir director and organist Janusz Krzysztof Korczak, born in Cracow in 1994, was awarded the 3rd prize at the International Composition Competition 'Musica Sacra Nova' 2016. This demanding Latin choral work is written for four four-part a cappella ensembles (SATB/SATB/SATB/SATB), including a plan of the ensembles' precise positions provided by the Polish composer. In this church music work which is divided into several thematic sections for which Korczak has a maximum of four singers for each part in each ensemble in mind, he has tried, by his own account, to set to music 'a kind of programmatic visualization' of the words borrowed from the Liber Sapientiae 18, 14-15b. As a consequence, performance instructions like soft or sharp whispering, singing with open and closed mouth, parts to be recited 'ad libitum', a general rest with explicit indication of seconds, strong dynamic accents as well as an abruptly descending glissando at the end are among the striking features of this 16-part a cappella choral work. Ideal literature for singers who are eager to experiment.

Because of this it's been on my mind for a long time to write a funeral song, but it was somehow just never the right time until just a few weeks ago when this one came pouring out in 5 minutes flat [which does not happen often, I can assure you!]. The culmination of years of playing for funerals, a bachelor degree in theology and sacred music, and many more years of writing and playing music through good times and also times full of grief, Lord of All Our Days is my very best and heartfelt attempt to serve those who are also dealing with the absolute heartache of loss, be it the acute, fresh grieving of just losing someone or the flashbacks that come time and time again, years and even decades later.This song carefully and tenderly handles the true earth-shaking grief that it is to lose someone you love, while holding out a strong hope of the life to come for those who trust God. I had a very difficult time recording it without being moved to tears over and over, and I pray it will reach many in need of comfort, being of service to anyone who is looking for a Christian, Biblical funeral hymn for a memorial service or a celebration of life service. This is the guitar or lead sheet version of Outdoor Acoustic Version of Lord of All Our Days, as heard on all streaming platforms. It is intended for use as a burial song, sung softly and reverently accompanied by a quiet guitar or even a capella at the internment portion of a funeral service if music is desired at the graveside. Published by James A. Yeager (A0.1499301). Foreword:Each movement revisits classic paradigms—sonata form (I), ternary song form (II), and sonata rondo (III). The three movements of this piano quintet share a common element contained in the seed of a motivic idea—the interplay between the minor and the major 3rd : a tonal ambiguity or conflict of the minor 2nd. Stylistically, this Sonata pays modest homage to neo-classicism of 20th Century composers such as Poulenc (I), Prokofiev, Shostakovich (III), and perhaps even a touch of Gershwin (II). I hope this piano quintet will offer players and their audience chamber music that is a bit unusual yet worthwhile. The Sonata embraces the lightheartedness, the melancholy , and the whimsy of nostalgia. There is no separate piano part.Performance Notes:I Moderately fast, expresses dialogues of themes that move between piano and strings. The playfulness of the exposition (repeat is not optional) can give way to a more passionate building of the development to the climax at letter H. In the recapitulation the longer bridge remains steadily in tempo (no accelerando) relaxing just before letter N and theme two. The coda after letter O is a somber premonition of movement two.II Slowly, the bowings are ad libitum. The viola is chantlike and smooth. Violins glissando like the portamento of the Chinese stringed instruments, the Guqin or the Ehru type glissando leading to a very pure quiet long tones without any vibrato and the resulting fourth should be a pure tuning. The piano can use una corda ad libitum in softer passages, and the pedal (damper) ad libitum. In the B section (Letter D) pianist should treat the 64th notes like an ornament (upper mordent). Strings play the eighths after Letter G accents with strong bow changes. At the end, the piano lingers until the sound vanishes after the strings die away.III Introduction: Quick and spirited, the transition (Introduction) is measured and strict without alteration leading to letter A. The rondo theme, ‘A’ section, can slightly intensify in each successive repetition, but not slavishly. The small waltz or ‘B’ section, Letter C, the quartet might play to resemble a reed organ or harmonium—sweet, sonorous, and harmonious. The ‘C’ section, Letter G, big swell on short bridge passage, then pizz. strings become very rustic and like a peasant dance. Pianist can use una corda ad libitum in soft passages. Violins again after Letter I play similarly to non-vibrato of 2nd movement. The ‘B’ section at Letter L is now the grand waltz slightly faster and more indulgent with tiny rubatos tastefully allowed.James Albert Yeager (b.1946)James began his career as organist and choral conductor then harpsichordist and finally, professor of sacred music. As an organ major at The Ohio State University, he studied with Dr. Wilbur Held (B.Mus. 1969). Professor Joseph Goodman mentored him in composition at Union Theological Seminary in New York city (M. Sac. Mus, 1971). At the University of Colorado-Boulder, he returned to the organ, nevertheless, keeping composition as a mainstay (D.M.A. 1985). He was appointed Director of Sacred Music at the Pontifical College Josephinum (Columbus, Ohio) and rose to the rank of Professor (1984-2009). He retired as professor emeritus in 2009 and moved to New Mexico. While residing in Mountainair, New Mexico, he was organist/choral director for 12 years at a major Albuquerque church retiring again in 2021. His most recent compositions include Passacaglia & Fugue for Organ and Chamber Orchestra (2022), a Fugue for Piano and Orchestra (2022), a Sonatina for Flute and Piano (2023), and the Sonata for Piano Quintet (2024) as well as several smaller works for voice and piano.

This hymn is available as a violin duet, or a cello duet, or as a violin and cello duet, all with piano accompaniment. The piano meanders through the first verse, then becomes a soft, mellow pattern in the second verse. The third verse is strong, with the ending getting slower and softer, with the meandering piano again. I've kept the melody simple so it can be easily heard. This would be appropriate for any worship service. Hope you like it!

On The Sunny Side Of The Street was composed in 1930 and was first heard in a Broadway revue which starred Harry Richman and Gertrude Lawrence. The first recordings also appeared in the same year, and it went on to be become a jazz standard, covered by Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole, and Art Tatum amongst others. The final bars of this arrangement include a brief tribute to Count Basie, who also recorded the song. The singing needs to light and swinging, with good articulation to the words and accurate placement of the syncopated rhythms. Try to blend the voices so that they sound as one, and aim for a softer, crooning vocal tone, like The Ink Spots or The Andrews Sisters.

It also utilizes OPTIONAL 2 octaves of handchimes . It is a medley of the Christmas carols: Joy to the World, Silent Night and O Come, All Ye Faithful. It starts out, joyfully, at a strong dynamic level, with Joy to the World. Then, it becomes soft for Silent Night, going into a CHORUS of O Come, All Ye Faithful that grows in volume to double forte, at which time the verse portion of O come, All Ye Faithful starts. At the next chorus, the dynamic progression is repeated, until the final chorus becomes triple forte at the very end. The handchimes are used simultaneously with handbells during Silent Night, but handbells can be substituted for the handchimes. That section is very slow and laid back, with its strong point being more exotic chords than the traditional carol. The first and last sections of the arrangement are faster (and louder), both with surprise key changes. The last section also features very full chords, in places, starting with the verse of O Come, All Ye Faithful. I would think that this is probably a level 2+ arrangement in difficulty---mostly because of the 16th notes in Joy to the World. The audio clip provided is in a piano voice (patch) but suffices to demonstrate how the arrangement is generally meant to sound.

Two fanfares are too short for a concert feature but work extremely well in a ceremony or celebratory setting. The last two short pieces aptly serve contrasting special purposes, as explained below.“Fort Pierre Fanfare” is about 40 seconds in duration, and was composed to open the feature concert at the South Dakota Bandmasters Association convention in 2022. Offutt Brass, from the US Air Force Heartland of America Band, was invited to perform that concert. Before the final piece of the concert, when gifts were exchanged between the sponsor and performers, beautiful presentation copies of the sheet music were presented to the sponsor. In performance, staging directions on the music can be extremely effective or cringy, depending on how they are conveyed. If there is any inkling that there may be a cringe factor, ignore them, and play the fanfare already on stage.“Enduring Freedom Fanfare” is nearly a minute of music. It was composed as a gift for the outgoing Commander of the US Air Force Heritage of America Band, Major Rafael Toro-Quiñones. His leadership was strong and inspiring, and he held a place of high esteem among many of the fine military musicians that he led. The Change of Command ceremony was toward the end of the Covid-19 shut-downs, so the work was not performed at the ceremony. Chief Remley, from the command’s satellite location in Nebraska, hand-delivered some finely printed presentation copies to Major Toro-Quiñones.“Noble Eagle Fanfare” is slightly over a minute in length, and, like “Enduring Freedom Fanfare,” was composed as a gift for another outgoing Commander of the US Air Force Heritage of America Band, Captain David Neil Regner.“Pilgrims’ Fanfare” was composed on what many Americans acknowledge as “Pioneer Day,” 24 July 2023. Not only honoring the thousands of pioneers that settled the western United States, but also the pilgrims that voyaged across the ocean to settle in the new continent. It is about 15 seconds in duration and is effective for any occasion in need of a magnificent fanfare.“Flightline Fanfare,” as its title implies, was composed for the ribbon cutting ceremony of the dedication of the newly renovated flightline at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. Unfortunately, the ceremony itself was altered last-minute, and the 15-second fanfare was not used. However, like “Pilgrims’ Fanfare,” it is very handy for any event demanding a splash of pomp.“American Interlude” is a soft 75-second underscore for an MC’s moving speech or dedication. It was originally composed as a smooth segue between two moving patriotic pieces of different keys in a concert setting, but can be used in any similar appropriate situation.“Troop 184” is dedicated to my childhood BSA Scoutmaster, Gerry Nielson, who molded me in significant ways into the man I am decades later. It is functional music, akin to a fight song, and can be easily marched to. Words may be crafted as a customized hiking ditty, or it can be featured before or after ceremonies as prelude or processional music. The duration can also be customized, as there is a written optional repeat, lengthening the tune from 45 seconds to a minute and a half.
