Violin Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.533610 Composed by Carson Cooman. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. 12 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3030921. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533610). Sonata for Solo Violin (2005) was composed for and is dedicated to David Fulmer. It is in twomovements. The first movement, Logos, was inspired by a paradoxical contrast present at Cisco Beach onNantucket Island, Massachusetts, USA. On one side of the sandy beach are the powerfulpounding waves of the unbounded Atlantic ocean. On the other side sits one of Nantucket's mosttranquil freshwater ponds. Within one field of vision exists this contrast. It is a lyrical movement which contrasts slow melodic gestures with very fast running passages. The outer two sections explore the development of a series of melodic cells that are unfolded at the start of the work. The middle section features a long-breathed lyrical melody with lower register decorations and interruptions. The second movement, Synodos, is a journey. The Greek title is built from the Greek words for with [sun] and road/way[hodos] and refers to a fellow traveller on a journey. It is a personal journey -- between performer and violin. It ismystical in conception with two extended slow sections framing a dramatic and jagged one in the center. The musical material and gestures are gradually transformed over time -- as periods of motion are contrasted with periods of extreme stillness and resonant inactivity.A resonant acoustic is preferred for a performance of the work.

Bach is featured on the newest album release Fom Afar by acclaimed Icelandic pianist VÃkingur Ólafsson.Intermediate LevelFormat: Concert, 9 x 12 inches.5 pages.Program notesJohann Sebastian Bach's third sonata for solo violin, BWV 1005, is an incomparable masterwork of Baroque music. Written in 1720, this sonata continues Bach's mastery of the solo violin, balancing lyrical expressivity and technical complexity within a single work.  The opening Adagio movement is particularly beloved for its slow, passionate melody and depth of emotion. The movement's simple structure – two repeating harmonic progressions that contrast and combine – is especially beautiful in its unadorned melodic lines and sonorous tones. At the same time, the movement is filled with subtle variations and technical challenges, making it a dazzling display of Bach's technical brilliance.  Come and experience Bach's heartfelt music. You will be warmed by its passionate lyricism, enchanted by its technical mastery, and moved by its profound emotional depth.

Violin Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1346418 Composed by Jesse Voogt. 19th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Romantic Period. 16 pages. Jesse Voogt #931207. Published by Jesse Voogt (A0.1346418). This sonata for solo violin is written in a romantic classical style.  The first movement, “Lalobachâ€, draws inspiration from two very different composers, Lalo and Bach, with both elements of Lalo's fire and Bach's elegant, calculated precision. The second movement, “Schlow & Schmaltzyâ€, is a playful and expressive piece, almost tongue-in-cheek in terms of being oversentimental and saccharine. The third movement, “Breaking a Fiveâ€, is a reimagining of an old style minuet, but then in 5/4 (for the most part). The fourth movement, “High Strungâ€, is a showpiece that demonstrates your technical skills and musicality. This sonata is perfect for advanced violinists who want to challenge themselves and impress their audience. I. LalobachII. Schlow & SchmaltzyIII. Breaking a FiveIV. High Strung

Violin and basso continuo (harpsichord, piano); cello ad libitum - intermediate to advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q2453 Nos. 1-3. Composed by Francesco Geminiani. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Op. 1. Schott Music - Digital #Q2453. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q2453). Francesco Saverio Geminiani (geb. ca. 1680 in Lucca, gest. 1757 erschien in London eine weitere Ausgabe, diesmal in Einrichtung als Concerti grossi VI Sonatas for two violins & a violoncello or harpsichord with a ripieno bass to be used when the violins are doubled, from the VI first solo's of his Opa Ia with a few additional movements.

Deuxiéme Sonata by Benjamin Godard (1849-1895)

Solo Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.914747 Composed by Benjamin Godard (1849-1895). Arranged by Eric J Roth. Romantic Period. Individual part. 14 pages. Eric J Roth #5867073. Published by Eric J Roth (A0.914747). Benjamin Godard (1849-1895) was a French violinist and composer of Jewish heritage. He wrote hundreds of works, including symphonies, operas, concertos, chamber and solo pieces, and songs. Today he is most remembered for his five symphonies and the Berceuse from his opera, Jocelyn. In style, Godard's music is reminiscent of the early Romantic period rather than the more grandiose style of Wagner. Godard wrote two sonatas for solo violin. The first dates from the 1870s. The second was composed in the 1890s and published after his death. Both sonatas contain four movements and employ baroque dance forms. The Deuxiéme (second) Sonata, arranged here for guitar solo, opens with a Sarabande in A minor, marked molto moderato e pompasamente (very moderately and pompously). The following Rigodon in C major is quick and convivial, although a contrasting section in C minor tempers the mood. The third movement, Adagio non ma troppo, begins in a tranquil F major. The texture soon thickens and makes striking use of the instrument’s lower register. A sudden modulation to F minor provides the sonata's most introspective moment. The piece returns to A minor and ends in a dramatic cliffhanger on the dominant. The rhythmic Bourrée serves as a true finale and includes a frenetic contrapuntal section recalling the violin sonatas of J. S. Bach.

Piano Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.497960 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Pietro Prugna. Baroque,Christmas,Classical,Easter,Wedding. Score. 2 pages. Published by Pietro Prugna (A0.497960). JS Bach has written many beautiful melodies. This is one of them. However, as it was originally written for solo violin, due to the technical difficulties playing it, the melody is often not fully appreciated. Besides, due to the nature of the violin, the accompaniment may sound a little jerky when played on solo violin. This arrangement allows the pianist to fully express the beauty of the melody, together with the accompaniment. Also, as the difficulty level is low, a violinist may want to try playing it (on piano), to fully appreciate the genius of Bach in reducing the beautiful melody and accompaniment into a solo violin piece. It also helps young violinists appreciate the various parts of the piece when played on solo violin. The pdf is for 1 piano.

Violin Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.1012119 Composed by Henri Duperey. 20th Century. 6 pages. Largo Music #3590065. Published by Largo Music (A0.1012119). From composer Elegy for Solo Violin was designed and composed for middle to high level violin technique. There are almost no tunes for pure violin solo without accompaniment for these levels. Sonata by Esaye, or Tzigane by Ravel, are very difficult. So I thought many violinists need solos mid-high level. I am a violinist and also a composer. Today there are almost not exists composers who can play violin with high level, differ from 19C. Unfortunately the composer can not write such tune if he (she) can not play violin. This tune includes Dies Irae, same to Esaye, appears many times like cyclic form. The beginning is like Tzigane. These are tribute to the great composers. And the theme of 2/4 that appears at beginning and ending, are funeral march, like the feeling of Esaye's one. Please play with Tempo Rubato according to your feeling. Henri Duperey

String Ensemble,String Trio Violin - Digital Download SKU: A0.497961 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Pietro Prugna. Baroque,Classical,Instructional. Score and parts. 18 pages. Published by Pietro Prugna (A0.497961). JS Bach has written numerous amazing Fugues. This piece was originally written for Solo Violin. For beginners, it may be difficult to hear the different parts for the piece and technically difficult to play the piece. In this arrangement, the voices are split into 3 violins. This enables violinists to play this piece together and appreciate the various parts both separately and together in the Fugue. While doing the arrangement, reference was made with JS Bach's own transcription of this piece for Organ (BWV 539). With the expanded musical palette of the Organ transcription, much insight can be gained into Bach's ideas on this Fugue. Portions of the Organ version were incorporated to this arrangement, especially where there is only 1 melody line. In addition, the theme is also repeated over some single melody lines. The pdf contains Full Score of 3 Violins and Set of Parts (Violin I, Violin II and Violin III). The Parts are formatted for easy page turning and reading.

Score and parts. 17 pages. Published by Pietro Prugna (A0.497964). JS Bach wrote this piece for solo violin. As with all his solo violin works, they can be interpreted in many amazing ways. A musical line may hold melody, counterpoints, harmony, bass... and every musician may hear them in different ways. In this arrangement, the parts have been split and re-arranged for String Quartet. This is my interpretation of this piece. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I did arranging it. Feel free to make your own interpretations too. Bass Flute,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549644 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and individual part. 16 pages. Jmsgu3 #3516861. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549644). Duration: ca 5:20, Score: 8 pages, solo part: 3 pages, piano part: 4 pages. One of Beethoven's finest and most famous works. Program for a recital, church meditation or school program. Bring your best espressivo and plan to rehearse the many subtle dynamic changes. Sonata Pathétique Op. 13 First of all, this is an arrangement of the second movement of Beethoven’s Sonata Pathétique. It seems like Beethoven wrote this piece before becoming troubled by deafness. Published in 1799, it consequently remains one of the most celebrated pieces Beethoven ever wrote. As a result of its popularity, the movement was therefore performed by Karl Haas. Hass recorded it for a popular radio show called: Adventures in Good Music. Beethoven Background Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 –1827) was certainly a German pianist. Above all, he was probably one of the greatest composers in history. As a result, he is a pivotal character in the progress between the Classical and Romantic periods. He is certainly one of the most famous and hence important of all composers. Seems like his most familiar and noteworthy works include symphonies 1-9; piano concertos 1-5; and furthermore, the violin concerto. Also, certainly of extreme importance are the noteworthy 32 sonatas for the piano; the string quartets 1-16; the Missa solemnis; and likewise, his only opera, Fidelio. Beethoven Overview First of all, Beethoven was born and consequently raised in Bonn. Upon turning 21 he moved to Vienna probably to study composition with Haydn. That’s when he consequently grew a reputation as a brilliant pianist. Furthermore, he probably stayed in Vienna for the rest of his life. In his late 20s, it seems like his hearing certainly began to decline. It slowly declined until consequently, he was nearly totally deaf probably by the last decade of his life. As a result, he stopped conducting and performing. Nevertheless, he continued to compose. As a result, some of his greatest works probably come from this period. First Period Seems like we often divide Beethoven’s life into three periods. Period 1 begins with Beethoven’s arrival in Vienna. Hence, during this period, he mastered the Viennese style of Haydn & Mozart. He consequently began increasing the size and scale of his works. Furthermore, he experimented with extreme dynamics, and likewise extreme tempi. He worked similarly with chromatic harmony. His First and Second Symphonies, therefore, belong to this period. Other important works also belong here: the first six string quartets and the Sonata Pathétique, Op. 13. Second Period His second period probably began as soon as he realized that he was going deaf. During this period, it seems like he became obsessed with the idea of heroism. His works consequently become even larger and more massive. The most noteworthy of these include the symphonies 3 – 8, piano concertos 5& 6, 5 string quartets, several important piano sonatas (Waldstein and Appassionata), the Kreutzer violin sonata, the violin concerto and his only opera: Fidelio. Third Period In contrast, Beethoven's third period is branded above all by works of incredible intellectual depth, formal innovation, and penetrating expression. It seems like he continued to expand his works. Consequently, the string quartet Op. 131 spills over into seven connected movements. Likewise, in the Ninth Symphony, he adds choral forces to his orchestra probably for the first time in history. Even more, other works from this period include his Missa solemnis, the final 5 string quartets (including the enormous Große Fuge) and the final five sonatas for piano. www.jamesguthrie.com.
