Across the Sea from Ireland, an anthem to the Irish immigration to America, is in the key of G, in 4/4, with two verses of lyrics. The Mist of Donegal is a lovely, simple melody in 4/4, key of C. Someday is dedicated to Mr. Mahan's father, key of C, 4/4 time, with one verse of lyrics. Dreams of Bantry Bay is in C, 4/4 meter, and has a lovely melody with a jig at the end. I Want to Go With You is a soulful and lilting melody in G in 6/8 with a jig tag. Danny Boy is an easy arrangement in D. Song From a Hymn is a very nice arrangement of St. Columba in the key of D and would make a great offertory or prelude. Green Hills of Clare is in the key of D in 6/8 with a G-sharp lever change, three verses of lyrics. Black Irish is in A minor in 6/8, a fun tune to play, has a Spanish feel and some tricky rhythms. Oliveira is also a member of the group of composers Vox Novus, based in New York.To commemorate 15 years of activity as a composer, Oliveira released a box set with 4 CDs, as well as a CD with composer Mark Hagerty, and produced the series QUINZE, with 13 concerts including his works, between July and October of 2012. More than 130 musicians, including 28 composers, participated of QUINZE (CDs and series).His discography includes 14 CDs as producer, 14 as composer, 22 as general producer, 2 as arranger and 2 as pianist. His catalog of compositions includes approximately 115 works for various ensembles, including Symphony Orchestra. Sergio Roberto de Oliveira is a member of the Latin Academy of the Arts and Science of Recording.He died from pancreatic cancer in 2017.

I woke up one night with the faint tendrils of a Spanish-type dance motive going through my head; this forms the beginning of the piece. It has nothing to do with Salamanca; I only picked a cool Spanish place name to give the title extra ethnic flavor.

Dr. Jane Goodall is a world-famous primatologist and anthropologist, considered the world's foremost expert on chimpanzees. She has changed the world with her studies, and continues to do so with environmental and educational activism.  Brad Powell met Dr. Goodall in the early 1990s, and has composed this piece in her honor.  It is a relaxing waltz style, using intermediate-level classical guitar technique, with both folk and modern jazz guitar chord voicings. It's actually a bit more difficult than the original--because the swung melody and bass lines are syncopated rather than matched... but it is very cool and fun to play, and a great showpiece for an intermediate level guitarist! This arrangement involved careful editing of essential elements of the Cello Suite Prelude (not the entire piece), tuning the guitar's 5th and 6th strings down a whole step, and adjusting harmonies of the Cello Suite to match Happy Birthday, still retaining Bach's compositional style.  It's an intermediate level classical fingerstyle, similar in difficulty to the Sor Etudes.
