Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.927497 Composed by Gerald Kuhn. 20th Century. Score and parts. 170 pages. Nuketown Music #3859101. Published by Nuketown Music (A0.927497). An easy to medium difficulty suite of three songs for concert band with a grade of 3-4. The first work begins with a melody much like the themes for an Agatha Christy-style movie, or Alfred Hitchcock. The second work is an impressionistic ballad. And the third, my favorite, an overly orchestrated march to convey bombast (with humor). The titles are: 1. The Sleuth, 2. The Romantic, and 3. The Procession of Pompous People. There are numerous solos for alto and tenor saxophone, trumpet, oboe, etc.

Classical,Halloween,Multicultural,World. 75 pages. JC Croyle #998440. Published by JC Croyle (A0.1416844). This is One of Four Percussion suites (Part II) that can either be played with the other three portions or by itself or even each part inside this portion of the suite for performance. Â Included with the score and each instrument part are the entire instrumentation, storyboards, and a character Bio Page. Â Why is there a character Bio page and storyboard you ask? Â This suite combined with the others can also be performed as a contemporary dance piece following the story of the short story (which is in the public domain) written by Bram Stroker as a prelude to Dracula entitled Dracula's Curse. Â Instrumentation for each portion can range from Orchestral Bass Drum, Snare Drum, and Marimba Parts to drum-set to Boom Whackers. Â Note: Most of the Marimba parts and some of the Vibeâ??s parts are written for Grand Marimba, these could also be played on a piano if need be. Â Same with the Vibes. Â Each mallet part could also be split so that 2-3 people play it instead of a more advanced player playing with 4 mallets. Â This would be the same for the Boom Whacker sections as well.

Variations in D major on “Procession of the Sardar” from Caucasian Sketches, Suite No. 1, Opus 10

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1486010 Composed by Mikhail Mikhaylovich Ippolitov-Ivanov. Arranged by Constance Shelengian. 20th Century. Score. 8 pages. Constance Shelengian #1063063. Published by Constance Shelengian (A0.1486010). Procession of the Sardar was composed in 1894 by Mikhail Ippolitov-Ivanov (1859-1935). The melody is derived from Russian composer Ippolitov-Ivanov's Caucasian Sketches, Suite No. 1, Op. 10, Movement 4. In these variations, the opening eight-bar theme provided the inspiration for the work. Armenians identify with the theme as a patriotic song Zeitountsiner or Arevn Yelav, Zeitountsiner (The sun rose, people of Zeitoun). In this arrangement for piano, the five variations in D major are a step lower, suited for the intermediate player. The original key for orchestra is E major. Techniques of motivic development include changes in: style, tonality, harmonization, meter (5/4) and tempo. The last variation is an homage to the Armenian composer Komitas Vardapet (1869-1935), based on his “Dance #1” from Six Dances for Piano.Extensive background notes provided.Duration: 4:38.

Brass Ensemble Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.750317 Composed by Eddie Lewis. Folk. Score and parts. 17 pages. Tiger Music #4790595. Published by Tiger Music (A0.750317). Hopewell Endurance Fourth Movement from Hopewell Suite for Trumpet Ensemble by Eddie Lewis Hopewell Suite is a trumpet ensemble composition for four trumpets and two flugelhorns. It was composed in 2016 using inspirations Eddie Lewis collected while he was in South Africa for the jazz festival in Grahamstown, in the Eastern Cape. Hopewell is the name of the farm where Eddie and his wife stayed most of the time while they were in South Africa. The farm is owned by their brother-in-law. Hopewell Endurance is the fourth movement of the suite. The Eastern Cape, where Hopewell Farm is located in South Africa, is a borderline semi-arid area that can suffer from periodic drought. This is not only difficult for the animals, but can also sometimes be a strain for the people. Exploring the land on the farm, there are signs of past droughts. And yet, the farm continues to thrive, no matter the times. If you are interested in purchasing the full suite with all seven movements, you can do so at: Sheet Music Plus: https://goo.gl/ry175L (affiliate link).

Grieg: Ase's Death from Peer Gynt Suite for Clarinet & Piano

B-Flat Clarinet,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549532 Composed by Edvar…
(+)
B-Flat Clarinet,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549532 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Concert,Contemporary,Romantic Period,Sacred,Standards. Score and part. 11 pages. Jmsgu3 #3505773. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549532). Duration: ca. 3:40, Score: 5 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 3 pages. Super-famous instantly recognizable tune, not very difficult - suitable for a recital, funeral or church meditation. Grieg Background In the first place, Edvard Grieg (1843 –1907) was a Norwegian composer as well as a concert pianist. As a matter of fact, most music historians consider him one of the foremost Romantic era composers. Consequently, his music is part of the international standard classical repertoire. Grieg moreover used Norwegian folk music in his own compositions. Consequently, he ushered Norwegian music to transnational consciousness. Furthermore, he forged a national musical identity for Norway. It is important to realize that he did this in a manner similar to Jean Sibelius in Finland, and Bedřich Smetana in Bohemia. Legacy Grieg is especially celebrated in the city of Bergen. For example, the city has erected numerous statues depicting Grieg. Specifically, the city has named a concert hall (Grieg Hall), a music school (Grieg Academy) and a professional choir (Edvard Grieg Kor) after him. As a matter of fact, there is also a museum located at his former home in Troldhaugen. Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 (Op. 46) Grieg wrote incidental music for the purpose of illustrating a play by Ibsen known as Peer Gynt. The play includes, in particular, the famous selection entitled, In the Hall of the Mountain King. In this composition, Grieg indeed depicts the exploits of the scoundrel, Peer Gynt. In one famous episode, for example, Peer steals a bride at her wedding. For this reason, the people chase him, but soon Peer falls, thereupon striking his skull on a boulder. He wakens forthwith in a highland bounded by angry gnomes. Consequently, the music of In the Hall of the Mountain King represents the mad gnomes taunting Peer. Therefore, each time the theme repeats it gets louder and faster. In the end, Peer surprisingly escapes from the mountain. Holberg Suite and Misc. Summary It must be remembered that Grieg originally wrote his Holberg Suite for the piano. In other words, he only later arranged it for strings. Further, Grieg composed by and large many songs with lyrics by famous writers such as Heine, Goethe, Ibsen, Hans Christian Andersen, Rudyard Kipling, and others. On balance, Norwegian pianist Eva Knardahl recorded altogether Grieg’s whole piano catalog on LP in 1980. These recordings were released again on CD in 2006. In any event, Grieg himself performed and recorded the bulk of these pieces toward the end of his life. Register for free lifetime revisions and updates at www.jamesguthrie.com.

B-Flat Clarinet,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549575 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards,World. Score and part. 18 pages. Jmsgu3 #3509361. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549575). Duration: ca. 2:17 Score: 10 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 5 pages. A proven audience pleaser - perfect for a recital encore!

B-Flat Trumpet,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549586 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards,World. Score and part. 18 pages. Jmsgu3 #3511285. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549586). Duration: ca. 2:17 Score: 10 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 5 pages. A proven audience pleaser - perfect for a recital encore!
