Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.957284 Composed by Bach, Martin Luther. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Easter,Renaissance,Sacred,Wedding. 51 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #6748165. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.957284). This album contains 5 of Johann Sebastian Bach's most famous and versatile pieces for woodwind quintet, all very well suited for the beginners who want to get to know the baroque repertoire. They are also suitable for performances at events such as: weddings, Christian and church ceremonies, Easter, and academic recitals or concerts. They can be used in music institutions and by teachers as repertoire material and study methods, either for performance or instrumental technique. This collection includes a totally free bonus for you to enjoy: Martin Luther's A Mighty Fortress is Our God, a Renaissance sacred song for choir, which has been adapted for this set. You can also buy each one individually by checking right at the end of each description of each work.1: Air on the G String - The original piece is part of Johann Sebastian Bach's Suite No. 3 for orchestra, in D Major, BWV 1068, written for Prince Leopold of Anhalt. The so-called Air on the G String dates from one of these latter employments. In the service of the Prince of Cöthen, Bach composed not only the famous Brandenburg Concertos, but also several orchestral suites, from the third of which comes the Air on the G String. This curious title derives from a later arrangement of this piece for violin solo, in which the melody is played entirely on the lower, higher string of the instrument. ID: S0.11896992: Arioso - The Cantata 156 (BWV 156) was written for the third Sunday after Epiphany in 1729, and was first performed on January 23 of that year. The text is by Picander, one of Bach's favorite librettists. Of the four cantatas written by Bach for the feast, it was the last and only one scored for solo voice. This is a choral cantata, employing a choral melody in several movements. Cantata 156, in fact, employs two different choral melodies and texts in the second and sixth movements. A cantata is a sung symphony consisting of several parts, one of which is the Arioso, which is the initial instrumental part. ID: S0.11898993: Jesu, joy of man's desiring - This is one of Bach's most beautiful cantatas, made famous by the Jesus the Joy of Men chorus. It was originally composed for Advent 1716 in Weimar. Years later, already in Leipzig, Advent was tempus clausum, there was no music in the churches. Bach then reworked it for the Feast of Mary's Visitation. It is the final chorale of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. Although it is the 32nd cantata composed by Bach, of those that have survived, it was given BWV 147 in the complete catalog of his works. ID: S0.11900074: O Jesulein süss, o Jesulein mild - The Jesulein süß, the Jesulein mild is an original traditional German choral melody for voice and continuous bass arranged by Johann Sebastian Bach around 1735. With lyrics by Valentin Thilo, O Jesulein süss is a sacred melody adapted and catalogued as BWV 493. The first translation is by Dirk van Hogendorp, who made it more of a song for the time of suffering. ID: S0.11901035: Minuet in G major - This famous piece has traditionally been attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, as it appears in the Notebook for Anna Magdalena , a notebook that Bach gave to his wife Anna Magdalena in 1725 and which was to be filled with the favorite selections of Bach family members. However, recent research has concluded that this minuet, sometimes referred to as BWV Anhang 114. was probably composed by Christian Petzold, a German composer and organist contemporary with Bach. ID: S0.1190269Bonuses: A Mighty Fortress is Our God, by Martin Luther - Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott is a hymn written by Martin Luther probably before 1529. The melody was also considered his work for a long time, but it was created at least with the collaboration of Johann Walter. The song is of great symbolic power for Protestantism; where it is also known a.

HAYDN: SINFONIA IN G MAJOR 'LE SOIR' for woodwind quintet

Small Ensemble Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.811825 Composed by Joseph Haydn (1736 - 1809). Arranged by Pat Spence. Classical,Concert,Graduation,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 70 pages. Piper Publications #6689615. Published by Piper Publications (A0.811825). This early symphony (No. 8) was composed in 1761, the last of a set of three - 'Le Matin', 'La Midi' and 'Le Soir' (Morning, Mid day & Evening). The scoring was similar to the Bach Brandenburg concertos in that the wind players (flute, 2 oboes, bassoon & 2 horns) were treated as soloists along with the leaders of the string sections - except the violas. The musical style however, was remarkably well along the road to Haydn's Classical style. The four movements, Allegro molto, Andante,Menuetto & Trio and La tempesta - Presto which represents a storm. Haydn must have been very pleased with the last movement as he used the broken chord theme which first appears in the flute in his final work, The Seasons, again to represent a storm. The arrangement provides rewarding parts for a quintet of players of advanced intermediate standard and above.

Baroque,Easter,Renaissance,Sacred,Wedding. 51 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #6748249. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.957296). This album contains 5 of Johann Sebastian Bach's most famous and versatile pieces for baritone sax quintet, all very well suited for the beginners who want to get to know the baroque repertoire. They can be used in music institutions and by teachers as repertoire material and study methods, either for performance or instrumental technique. You can also buy each one individually by checking right at the end of each description of each work.1: Air on the G String - The original piece is part of Johann Sebastian Bach's Suite No. 3 for orchestra, in D Major, BWV 1068, written for Prince Leopold of Anhalt. In the service of the Prince of Cöthen, Bach composed not only the famous Brandenburg Concertos, but also several orchestral suites, from the third of which comes the Air on the G String. Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1088119 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Classical. 12 pages. RayThompsonMusic #692364. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1088119). Arranged wind quintet. Horn Part in Bb basso ( same as Beethoven's )(alt Hn in F part provided) The Symphony No. 8 in F major, Op. 93 is a symphony in four movements composed by Ludwig van Beethoven in 1812. Beethoven fondly referred to it as my little Symphony in F, distinguishing it from his Sixth Symphony, a longer work also in F.[1] The Eighth Symphony is generally light-hearted, though not lightweight, and in many places cheerfully loud, with many accented notes. Various passages in the symphony are heard by some listeners to be musical jokes. As with various other Beethoven works such as the Opus 27 piano sonatas and the later Ninth Symphony, the symphony deviates from Classical tradition in making the last movement the weightiest of the four. This is my arrangement of the 2nd mvt. There is a widespread belief that this movement is an affectionate parody of the metronome, which had only recently been invented (or more accurately, merely improved) by Beethoven's friend, Johann Maelzel. Specifically the belief was that the movement was based on a canon called Ta ta ta... Lieber Maelzel, WoO 162, said to have been improvised at a dinner party in Maelzel's honor in 1812. However, there is no evidence corroborating this story and it is likely that WoO 162 was not written by Beethoven but was constructed after-the-fact by Anton Schindler. A more likely inspiration was the similar rhythmic parody of Joseph Haydn's Clock Symphony. The metronome-like parody starts at the very beginning of the movement with even staccato chords in 16th-notes (semiquavers). This basic 16th-note rhythm continues fairly steadily through the piece. The tempo is unusually fast for a symphonic slow movement. Richard Wagner has argued that the third movement was intended as the slow movement of this symphony and that the second should be played as a scherzo.

RayThompsonMusic #3569493. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.553717). Mozart wrote three early String Quartets in Salzburg in 1772 naming them Divertimenti. They are catalogued as K.136, K.137 and K.138. In form these Divertimenti are in three movements, which differs from his later divertimenti which have 4 or more movements. They are sometimes known as Salzburg Symphonies 1 to 3. K. 136, in D major, the best known of the three, opens with an Allegro, followed by an attractive G major slow movement and a rapid finale with the requisite touch of contrapuntal interest. K. 137, in B flat major, starts with an Andante, followed by two faster movements. The third of the set, K. 138, in F major, follows an opening tripartite Allegro with a G major Andante and a final Presto. This is mvt.1 Allegro of K. 136 in D major: arranged wind quintet.Complete  arrangement of this Divertimento K136 available here.I have created new natural horn parts. The melody is shared out between mainly flute and oboe...I have not done a straight swop from violin 1 to flute etc....Written for Clarinet in A, Horn In D.(Clarinet in Bb and Horn in F also provided).

Andrew Middleton #681344. Published by Andrew Middleton (A0.1077181). Haydn's Symphony No. 98 is the sixth of his twelve London Symphonies. It was composed as part of a set on his first visit to London and received it's first performance in 1792. The first movement of the symphony is a brisk arpeggiated theme after an adagio introduction. The complete symphony is also available for wind quintet too. Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1043850 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by G L Harvey. Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Romantic Period,Wedding. 28 pages. G L Harvey #648539. Published by G L Harvey (A0.1043850). This haunting piece of music from Beethoven's 7th Symphony has been carefully abridged and arranged for a standard Wind Quintet (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn in F and Bassoon). It is sympathetic to the original music and should be easily accessible for intermediate to advanced players. Alternative parts for Horn and Bassoon are also included for non standard ensembles on Tenor Horn in Eb and Bass Clarinet respectively. There is also an optional percussion part on Timpani (A & E) that can easily be played on old fashioned hand tuned instruments, and will lend a bit more gravitas to any performance. The piece is very musically satisfying to play and will sit well on any concert or recital programme. The duration of the piece is about 4:50 minutes. The PDF is 28 pages long (A4 portrait) containing a full score and parts. Printing guidance - Score (pages1-13 print A4 double sided), all parts p14-28 (with the exception of Timpani p28) are designed to fit 2 x A4 pages on A3).
