Appropriate for the Easter season or any time of the year to remind us that Jesus death was not the end. This beautiful choral arrangement will stir the heart and inspire many. Jesus is alive in His heavenly home and yes, He still loves us! For verse two, the rhythm varies with the words from verse 1. For example, taken should be on two 8th notes instead of one quarter note like in the first verse. I have included a recording I made at home using just my voice to give you an idea of what the song sounds like. Of course, with a full choir, it will sound so much better. I am a soprano and I was trying to sing tenor and bass, so please use your imagination!

I begin the piece with the simple melody then add 8th notes to the melody. In the next variation, I add chords and then do the melody in octaves. The piece ends in a simple music box style. It is medium difficulty and would work as a nice offertory or instrumental anthem.

These were my grandfather's favorite hymns. I dedicated this arrangement in his memory. He taught me all of these hymns when I was a young girl, learning to play piano. This makes a nice piece to play as a prelude to a church service.

I had one of my adult choir members play the tambourine on the off-beats. You may add woodblocks or cowbells for the hammer away effect. The mp3 recording is of me singing the song. Imagine it with a children's choir and adult choir instead of a single voice. Enjoy!

The flute plays slightly behind the beat, not sure why. The music is fast at the end in the recording, but I meant for it to slow down there. .
