Piano Solo - Level 5 - SKU: A0.1213917 By Roy Clark. By Charles Aznavour and Herbert Kretzmer. Arranged by Timothy Stapay. Film/TV,Jazz,Multicultural,Singer/Songwriter,Standards,World. Score. 8 pages. Timothy Stapay #811114. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1213917). Yesterday When I was Young is a song composed by Georges Garvarentz and written by Charles Aznavour and released in September 1964. The original French title translates to Just yesterday or Not so long ago.It is considered one of Aznavour's greatest hits. The English-language lyrics, written by Herbert Kretzmer, tell of someone reflecting on his life, recalling how he had wasted his younger years.Lyrics:[Verse 1]Yesterday when I was youngThe taste of life was sweet as rain upon my tongueI teased at life as if it were a foolish gameThe way the evening breeze may tease a candle flameThe thousand dreams I dreamed, the splendid things I plannedI always built, alas, on weak and shifting sandI lived by night and shunned the naked light of dayAnd only now I see how the years ran away[Verse 2]Yesterday, when I was youngSo many drinking songs were waiting to be sungSo many wayward pleasures lay in store for meAnd so much pain my dazzled eyes refused to seeI ran so fast that time and youth at last ran outI never stopped to think what life was all aboutAnd every conversation I can now recallConcerned itself with me, me and nothing else at all[Verse 3]Yesterday the moon was blueAnd every crazy day brought something new to doI used my magic age as if it were a wandAnd never saw the waste and emptiness beyondThe game of love I played with arrogance and prideAnd every flame I lit too quickly, quickly diedThe friends I made all seemed somehow to drift awayAnd only I am left on stage to end the play[Outro]There are so many songs in me that won't be sungI feel the bitter taste of tears upon my tongueThe time has come for me to pay for yesterdayWhen I was youngYoung, young...

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1104138 Composed by H.W. Petrie. Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. 19th Century,Children,Comedy,Pop,Wedding. 28 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #707372. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.1104138).      Howard W. Petrie was a composer of popular music active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. One of his most popular songs was “I Don’t Want to Play in Your Yard,†published early in his career, 1894. The song underwent a revival in the mid-1950s when Peggy Lee recorded it. It also figured prominently in the popular 1981 film Reds. Lyrics are credited to Philip Wingate, and his first verse sets up the story. Two little girls were next-door neighbors and best of friends. One day, however, a quarrel arose and “hot tears were shared.†One announced, “You can’t play in our yard.†The reply of the other forms the familiar chorus: I don't want to play in your yard, I don't like you any more, You'll be sorry when you see me sliding down our cellar door, You can't holler down our rain-barrel, you can't climb our apple tree, I don't want to play in your yard, if you won't be good to me.      The second verse tells of the reconciliation. The two girls miss each other. They kiss and make up and remain friends “all thro’ life.†But “in sweet dreams of childhood†we still remember the controversy of the yard.      This version features the group's Trumpets somewhat taking the roles of the two little girls. It retains the F major key in which it was written, changes tempo four times (in addition to a few rallentando/a tempo instructions) and includes two short, rather simple cadenzas, one for each Trumpet. It starts (rather incongruously!) with the eight 4/4 measures of “Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary†then transitions to ¾ for the remainder of the piece.      Trumpets predominate with melody and lead. However Horn and Trombone do occasionally come to the fore to provide introductions, call-and-response figures and recapitulations. Both Trumpets play a few notes above their staff—G# and A—but for the most part, all instruments perform within their normal playing range. Performance time is about three and a half minutes to perform.      Completed in 2022, performance time runs about 3 minutes, 34 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for trombone) at no charge. He would like to receive your suggestions, comments, corrections and criticisms. For more arrangements by Les, enter Sweetwater Brass Press (without the quotation marks) in the Sheet Music Plus or Sheet Music Direct search box. (Also, purchase of this piece entitles you to your choice of another of his arrangements at no charge; send a copy of your purchase receipt directly to him at lessmith61@bellsouth.net.).

Published by Monica Bergo (A0.976861). 2017 Holiday Contest EntryNEMESIS I enter the room of my consciousness That incredible disorder I rummage through the drawers Where I keep sufferings And the ineradicable memories Dust that knows of regret Spider webs cover my time, I recompose pieces of life But I'm here for you Fleeting shadow And my face reflects, Inside you My nemesis, my alter ego You reflect me and then Are a dark ghost The imperfect and the unsaid I will let you be what you are, My soul, black and rending. If you destroy my image It does not matter Finally that door remains open And opening the border between dream and reality I stumble among people at my funeral Who cry, who laugh, It is my Carnival I look at them from above, a spectral profile Rush down into the void that I have inside Nobody hugs me, I touch the silence, Slow-motion of a movie without more viewers, Close the curtain of the world outside and ... and ... The snow falls , how cold it is For this actress without identity I escape from the frost of my uncertainties But there is no refuge save me from she Who is heat, but to hurt Is my animal instinct I'm alone in this storm But certainly I do not regret Your mood swings, your sterile love Even without, I will survive My nemesis now dominates Be careful! If she comes for you She destroys you, crushes you, is cruel and savage, And then she will laugh in your face And sitting here on the bank of my river I'm waiting for you to pass this way Naked and without arrogance I'll never get enough This dance that gives me joy And in the darkness I move safe and stealthy (what are you?) I'm not afraid of anything and I feel wicked (you are lost now) Souls dancing to the beat of their sins (you like us) In this limbo I disown my past days (and so will you be...) Wind and storm I'm not just this, The rumble of thunder I don't understand any longer which side I’m on And it goes against the wind and sharpens my torment I'm hungry for the Sun Nemesis cannot dominate me My nemesis is here, Is stronger than ever And I know that she is reaching for me And it’s she who does not know Ever to stop halfway, Is Lady of Vice and Deception She seizes me , she exhausts me because She does not accept the peace that I have inside She has no balance, Makes me waver, And frustrates what I have achieved Tell me that you'll disappear As a dream in the morning light And will be, within me, A memory clouded by time I leave the room of my consciousness To make order is impossible Strange this drawer, not only sufferings But something relentless Nemesis, it is no longer your time By now your fire is spent And I will be born again to enchantment By words and music Food for the soul ... Music and song composed by me about Borderline♫ * ´¨` * • .¸¸. ♫ Cassandra's vision ♫ * ´¨` * • .¸¸. ♫ I don't want to open that door, I shouldn't ... but it's the wind that brings me ... And I sing in a low voice, Until the pain passes and turn, turn-round, how bad the world is Between thoughts and tears, words and music There is Cassandra's vision And I don't know if he can do it, to write about you, you left quickly, And you're perfect in my mind Cassandra is locked up in that room, He hugs himself, tells an existence: Look there, my father and his glass, look at me, the victim of drinking purple bruises, always alone at school, violence continues in indifference, my mother knew but hid everything, the mind that does not hold, and the borderline destroys the spark that was in me, all those dreams of mine and that love that I will never have, I would like to run away but I am chained here, uncontrolled rituals, repeated gestures and a monster closed inside me In Cassandra's vision, she no longer has bars in this room no longer has a body, sex, it is ageless It's a vision but she doesn't know it In harmony with creation, forget the present and the past And the pain comes up and will disappear, It's a vision but she doesn't know it Cassandra does not know, who is about to lose our reality Worn threads Of a fragile puppet He hangs in the balance, embraces a nightmare In his labyrinths, he never finds a way out And pass the margin, cross that limit You feel a flower that Needs no longer has And the wind will follow In front of the mirror, The long hair, Reflect flashes of a thousand crystals You comb them slowly ,, With infinite care, You have been waiting for your love for a lifetime And a carillon that resounds far away, The brush suddenly falls from your hand Because the black man is here, he is already back, He breaks your dream, the charm is broken Cassandra runs among the stars and tattooes them on her skin Bruises and scars no longer has, It's a vision but she doesn't know it In dimensions to explore, How birds can fly Breathe sun, love and freedom And no one will harm you here ... Cassandra stop, Cassandra help me not to regret you Now you can't chain me to you, to your memory that will burn forever Cassandra doesn't know that wings don't, she doesn't Tragic angel who takes flight and then A puppet with broken threads now And time stands still here, like your beat But the vision is mine or Cassandra's, I don't remember anymore, This time changes my perception of the past Faces and names that Time has faded by now And I dance to the ticking of what has been lost souls who are left behind always inside me with their story an eternal tattoo in my memory I shouldn't open that door, I don't want to, but it's the wind that brings me…. and I sing in a low voice until the pain passes and round, round-round how bad the world is ... .. I have ridden the wings of the dawn looking for a place to lie my heart to rest, flying over seas and hills I found your splendid home. How could I explain what I felt when I saw your light, when I heard you calling my poor self. I feel your spirit looking after my lonely soul, I know your head is placed on my troubled head; I hear your voice: it's as sweet as a dream. Please don't let me lose my way hold me within your light. How could I close my heart to your blessed charity? Stars and skies tell me of your loving harmony. I see your love in the brightness of the moon; darkness will fade away the sun will shine over me.

Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 2 - SKU: A0.507012 By Alan Wagstaff. By Alan Wagstaff. Arranged by Alan Wagstaff. Celtic,Folk,Irish,Traditional. Octavo. 37 pages. Alan Wagstaff #117526. Published by Alan Wagstaff (A0.507012). This is a new Irish song about the magic of Irish music. It's arranged for choir (SSAATB), harp, piano, flute, and fiddle. Elements of O'Carolan's 'Inisheer' are woven into the melody. Lyric A Song With No Tune The stories they tell in the Town of Athlone, would gladden the heart of a man made of stone. I joined in with them freely, until it was Spring, then I was off, like a hawk on the wing - searching for fortune - and something to sing. And it’s oh! But it’s been a long time! And I hope that we meet again soon. I saw her but once, by the light of the moon. She said she would give me a song with no tune. The pipers are proud in Kildare and Athy; there's no better music found under the sky. But, one bright Summer's evening, I left them behind; put my feet to the road and I followed them blind - searching for fortune - and what I might find. And it’s oh! But it’s been a long time! And I hope that we meet again soon. I saw her but once, by the light of the moon. She said she would give me a song with no tune. The fiddlers are famous from Bantry to Cork. The rake of their reels would make the lame walk. But still, at the close of a fine Autumn day, I packed up my bags and I went on my way - searching for fortune but finding low pay. And it’s oh! But it’s been a long time! And I hope that we meet again soon. I saw her but once, by the light of the moon. She said she would give me a song with no tune. Far up the west coast, in Aran and Clare, there's harpers to bring you a magical aire. I listened, enthralled, till the Winter came on, then pulled up my boots - and soon I was gone - searching for fortune for still I had none. And it’s oh! But it’s been a long time! And I hope that we meet again soon. I saw her but once, by the light of the moon. She said she would give me a song with no tune. I rested, by chance, at the close of the day, by a small rounded hill, where I happened to stray. And there, as the drowsiness over me stole, I dreamed of a woman with eyes black as coal - And the fortune she held was the song of my soul. And it’s oh! But it’s been a long time! And I hope that we meet again soon. I saw her but once, by the light of the moon. She said she would give me a song with no tune. Alan Wagstaff.

Clarinet in Bb and piano - intermediate - SKU: S9.Q15285 From the Idyll At Twilight. Composed by Zdenek Fibich. Arranged by Wolfgang Birtel. This edition: Sheet music. Edition Schott - Single Edition. Downloadable. Op. 39. Schott Music - Digital #Q15285. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q15285). The reputation of the Bohemian composer Zdenek Fibich (1850-1900) has always been somewhat overshadowed by that of Bedrich Smetana and AntonÃn Dvorák. This is a pity, for Fibich, though he died young, made an equally important contribution to the emerging Czech national styl with his wide range of compositions. After starting piano lessons with his mother as his first teacher, the boy went on to music school in Prague and then to the Leipzig Conservatoire, where he learned his craft as a composer. He spent a few months teaching piano in Paris and then continued his studies with Vinzenz Lachner in Mannheim. Prague was eventually to become the centre for Fibich's musical activities: as his dream of a post at the Conservatoire remained unfulfilled, his main employment was giving private music lessons and as a composer Zdenek Fibich wrote works for many musical genres: vocal and chamber music, piano pieces and orchestral works, operas, stage music and melodramas, literary recitals with orchestral accompaniment to which he gave a new lease of life. There are biographical traces to be found in the 376 piano pieces of the collection 'Moods, Impressions and Reminiscences' Op. 41, written in 1892-98: this tells of his love for his pupil Anezka Schulzová in the form of a 'piano diary'. Its four volumes were frequently a source of material for other works, such as the symphonic poem 'In the Evening' Op. 39 (also known as 'A Summer's Evening' and 'At Twilight'), written in 1893. For his second subject in this 'Idyll' Fibich used the minature no. 139, entitled 'Lento', from his collection of piano pieces. The violinst Jan KubelÃk played the melody from 1908 onwards with the title 'Poème', and the work is still known today under this title: its easy charm has made it a favourite tune in the classical repertoire. This arrangement is based on the orchestral version from which other material was adapted for the Prelude.

And while we intone the chants to the moon a strange mantra to bring good luck I feel observed because there hidden he's , he followed me in the thick of wood I stop petrified and now I'm afraid because he knows nothing of my dark half and I see the contempt I can see it in his face and I have a heavy heart tears soaked-.... What I could say I would tell him do not go while time seems to stop a moment seems eternal.... But who cares half woman half witch If really you're interested maybe you love me the same.... and I look at you go away in my eyes nostalgy and a tear goes I think of what will not be strange actress consumed identity lost I try wherever my part always change my fate. And watch you disappear something inside me dies I would like an elixir of love it gives you back
