Choral Choir,Choral (SSA) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.890639 Composed by Stella ter Hart. Arranged by Stella ter Hart. 20th Century,Folk,Standards. 12 pages. Stella ter Hart #3455153. Published by Stella ter Hart (A0.890639). This hauntingly beautiful and artistic arrangement of She's Like the Swallow contains the original, very old Newfoundland folk text very rarely used due to it's tragic story line. It is in the genre of beware the uncaring man common in folk songs of Europe which served to teach and warn young girls about the dangers of infatuation. This genre travelled to the United States and Canada in the 1700's. The expression apron low/apron high is a common thread in this genre and refers to being pregnant. She's Like the Swallow tells the tragic tale of a young girl who has fallen in love with, no doubt, a handsome but uncaring man. The story is told from each character's perspective plus an observer (narrator). The girl ultimately creates her own funeral bower of rose petals (ripping them off in desperation as she frantically runs through a garden), lies down on this 'bed of roses' and dies.  You have probably heard this song many times without ever knowing the true meaning due to significant verses left out. You will need a skilled accompanist! The accompaniment utilizes significant word painting throughout to highlight the haunting melody line. Word painting depicts the swallow, uncaring cruelty, desperation, blindly going in circles, anger, church bells and fading away/dying. The conductor is free to take liberties with the tempi and dynamics in order to create a unique interpretation that will resonate with their own choral group. This arrangement of She's Like the Swallow is an exceptional festival or competition piece and one that should be in the repertoire of every skilled women's choir! Duration:  4 minutes                                                                               Key: C minor (plus modulations)                                                                                    Level: intermediate/early advanced composer contact:  www.stellaterhart.com

Guitar Tab - Advanced Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Bradley Powell (The Candlelight Guitarist). Impressionistic, Post- Romantic, Jazz, Recital, New Age. Solo Part, Tablature. 6 pages. Published by Geofonica Artistworks
This is a beautiful, tender and heartfelt, finger-style guitar solo (ballad), exactly as performed by The Candlelight Guitarist on the album "Sunflower Serenity." As with other Candlelight Guitarist pieces, it seamlessly blends romantic popular, folk, classical and jazz styles. Written in both standard notation and TAB, it's for a strong intermediate level finger-style player (budding-into-more advanced), comfortable playing up to 12th position, with capable finger-style abilities (either classical or strong folk technique). Composed by Various. Arranged by Scott Camp. Classical Period, Etudes and Exercises, Repertoire, Technique Training, Recital. 75 pages. Published by Scott Camp
This is the collection of classical piano repertoire I created for work with my own students, most of whom were not primarily interested in "classical" music. <br> <br> In my experience, every elementary piano student should be given the opportunity to successfully play:<br> Spinning Song (even if you leave out the middle section at first)<br> Minuet in G (page one)<br> Fur Elise (page one)<br> <br> Eventually, they should experience (if not master--that's ultimately up to them) each piece in this collection. <br> <br> All hand positions and finger numbers are presented so that students can spend their time preparing successfully--not "figuring out" with endless frustration and incorrect solutions. <br> <br> "Minuet in G" from the Bach notebook is a great example. Let's consider just the first page. Many (most) elementary students would love to play this piece. The RH by itself is easy. The LH is also "not difficult", but it's not self-evident, either. The notes are easy enough, and the fingering choices seem inconsequential. You could play it with several different fingering solutions.<br> <br> Hands Together: Humans can pay attention to only one thing at a time: in this case, the RH or the LH. Whichever hand is receiving the attention, the other must be on "automatic pilot". You can switch focus rapidly to give the appearance that you are paying attention to two things equally, but that is not what is happening. <br> <br> So... both hands need to be rehearsed (better word than "practiced") until the correct execution is the "default" behavior. <br> <br> If that (sufficient correct repetetition) has not happened, then consistent successful performance with both hands is never achieved. Students complain that they wish they could be more "consistent". They don't have a chance, sadly. <br> <br> "Practice Makes... "<br> <br> If you said "Perfect" then you've fallen into a sinister trap. <br> <br> "Practice makes Permanent." When a student actually does what has been assigned, in many cases that is the beginning of the end of their piano career. <br> <br> Here's the process in general:<br> Students "write in their own fingering" and then, and then practice (repeat) their incorrect solutions. They are unable to perform the desired piece consistently and don't know why. How long can a student tolerate this ineffective approach?<br> <br> That's something for us professionals to consider.<br> <br> <br> Perfect for introducing classical repertoire (similar to Suzuki, Bastien Piano Literature, etc). The advantage here is that all fingering is included so that students play more!<br> <br> Contents<br> <br> Minuet in G from the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach<br> Minuet in G from the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach<br> Minuet in G minor from the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach<br> Musette in D from the Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach<br> Minuet in F Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart<br> Ecossaise in G Ludwig van Beethoven<br> Sonatina in G Ludwig van Beethoven<br> I Allegretto<br> II Romanze<br> Sonatina (In the Antique Style) Op. 157, No. 4 Fritz Spindler<br> I Allegro <br> The Wild Horseman, Op. 68, No. 8 Robert Schumann<br> Fur Elise (Famous Page 1) Ludwig van Beethoven<br> Spinning Song, Op. 14, No. 4 Albert Elmenreich<br> Arabesque, Op. 100, No. 2 Friedrich Burgmüller<br> Ballade, Op. 100, No. 15 Friedrich Burgmüller<br> Solfeggietto Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach<br> Toccatina, Op. 27, No. 12 Dmitri Kabalevsky<br> Fur Elise (Complete) Ludwig van Beethoven<br> Sonatina, Op. 55, No. 1 Friedrich Kuhlau<br> I Allegro <br> Sonatina, Op. 36, No. 3 Muzio Clementi<br> I Spiritoso <br> La Vélocité, Op. 109, No. 10 Friedrich Burgmüller<br> <br> <br> These are the documents that I have used to introduce classical music to my piano students. No note is presented without its corresponding proper fundamental technique (fingering). In other words, there is no such thing as a note separate from its hand position and fingering. <br> <br> The hand position notation is used to better communicate what exactly is being demanded of the student. Students’ repertoire is no longer limited by their music staff reading ability. Nor do they suffer from their own painful inability to solve technical issues. This approach restores “playing music on the piano” to primacy and supports “helping a student play music on the piano” as the central activity of the piano lesson. <br> <br> Weak students are able to play real (not simplified) music and not feel penalized. Strong students complete their preparation even more efficiently. In all cases, spending less time on fingering means more time for higher levels of musicianship: coordination, pedaling, physical technique, control, tone, dynamics, tempo, rhythm, articulation, phrasing, expression, emotion, drama, compositional analysis, and historical context.<br> <br> Good luck!<br> Scott Camp<br> scottcampislandpiano@gmail.com This is the collection of classical piano repertoire I created for work with my own students, most of whom were not primarily interested in "classical" music. Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1210386 Composed by Anna Sosenko. Arranged by Scott S. Stewart. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz,Singer/Songwriter,Standards. Score. 6 pages. Scott S. Stewart #808117. Published by Scott S. Stewart (A0.1210386). The cabaret-ballad “Darling, Je Vous Aime Beaucoupâ€, words and music by Anna Sosenko was composed in 1935.  The romantic and bi-lingual lyrics about an English lad who had fallen in love with a Parisian girl became immensely popular with Allied servicemen during WW II.  Sosenko was also the manager of singer-pianist, “the incomparable Hildegarde†(Hildegarde Loretta Sell) who adopted the song as her theme song, and gave it its popularity.  This arrangement is in a simple cabaret ballad style for solo voice and pianist. Performance time: 3:55+-  An excellent introduction piece to cabaret style, the French language, women composers, the first of single-name entertainers, a song that deserves its place in the Great American Songbook - is worth a place on your repertoire list.

Choral Choir,Choral (SSAA) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1349236 By Ballroom. By Alan Bergman, Billy Goldenberg, and Marilyn Bergman. Arranged by Rebecca (Boo) de Bruin. Barbershop,Broadway,Musical/Show. 4 pages. Rebecca de Bruin #933981. Published by Rebecca de Bruin (A0.1349236). Music by Billy Goldenberg and lyrics by Alan and Marilyn Bergman. Arranged in 2023 by Rebecca (Boo) de Bruin. 4 pages for Sweet Adelines (ladies' barbershop) quartet. (Tenor, lead, baritone, bass are roughly equivalent to SSAA). Please note: in keeping with normal barbershop practice, an octave-shifted bass clef is used for the baritone and bass parts (roughly equivalent to alto 1 and alto 2).Fifty Percent is a defiant ballad taken from the 1978 Tony-nominated stage musical by Jerome Kass, Billy Goldenberg and Alan and Marilyn Bergman. Having fallen for a married man, Bea sings of how she would rather have fifty percent of him, or any percent of him than all of anyone else at all. Vocal ranges are:Tenor (S1): Eb4 - F5 (Eb above middle C to F above high C)Lead (S2): Bb3 - D5 (Bb below middle C to D above high C). (Until the tag the highest note is C, and an alternative tag is included)Baritone (A1): C4 - C5 (Middle C to high C)Bass: Db3 - F4 (Db below middle C to F above middle C)NB It's entirely possible to sing this in E / F# rather than Eb / F (as my quartet does) provided you have a relatively high lead: but it makes it much harder to read!Learning tracks are available from NewVoice Studio.
