Mixed Percussion B-Flat Tuba,B-Flat trombone,Baritone Horn TC/Euphonium,Bass Trombone,E-Flat Cornet,E-Flat Tenor Horn,E-Flat Tuba TC,Flugelhorn,Percussion 1,Percussion 2,Tenor Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1192838 Composed by John Philip Sousa. Arranged by Adrian Horn. March. Brass Band. 73 pages. AJH Brass #792292. Published by AJH Brass (A0.1192838). ‘The Free Lance’ march uses themes taken from Sousa’s operetta of the same name. As there were so many march tunes within his operetta, Sousa tried to include them all within this march, thus giving it a longer and more unusual construction than found in most of his marches. The trio of the march is the song ‘On To Victory’ from the operetta. A name under which the march has also been published at various times. The operetta itself is about Sigmund Lump, a mercenary who hired himself out as leader to two opposing armies. He manoeuvred both armies so that neither could win, eventually declaring himself as emperor of both nations! This arrangement is for British style Brass Band, and the download includes a full score and set of parts.

Bass Clarinet,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549585 Composed by Edvard Grieg. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Concert,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards,World. Score and part. 18 pages. Jmsgu3 #3511273. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549585). Duration: ca. 2:17 Score: 10 pages, solo part: 2 pages, piano part: 5 pages. A proven audience pleaser - perfect for a recital encore! Grieg Background In the first place, Edvard Grieg (1843 –1907) was a Norwegian composer as well as a concert pianist. As a matter of fact, most music historians consider him one of the foremost Romantic era composers. Consequently, his music is part of the international standard classical repertoire. Grieg moreover used Norwegian folk music in his own compositions. Consequently, he ushered Norwegian music to transnational consciousness. Furthermore, he forged a national musical identity for Norway. It is important to realize that he did this in a manner similar to Jean Sibelius in Finland, and Bedřich Smetana in Bohemia. Legacy Grieg is especially celebrated in the city of Bergen. For example, the city has erected numerous statues depicting Grieg. Specifically, the city has named a concert hall (Grieg Hall), a music school (Grieg Academy) and a professional choir (Edvard Grieg Kor) after him. As a matter of fact, there is also a museum located at his former home in Troldhaugen. Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 (Op. 46) Grieg wrote incidental music for the purpose of illustrating a play by Ibsen known as Peer Gynt. The play includes, in particular, the famous selection entitled, In the Hall of the Mountain King. In this composition, Grieg indeed depicts the exploits of the scoundrel, Peer Gynt. In one famous episode, for example, Peer steals a bride at her wedding. For this reason, the people chase him, but soon Peer falls, thereupon striking his skull on a boulder. He wakens forthwith in a highland bounded by angry gnomes. Consequently, the music of In the Hall of the Mountain King represents the mad gnomes taunting Peer. Therefore, each time the theme repeats it gets louder and faster. In the end, Peer surprisingly escapes from the mountain. Holberg Suite and Misc. Summary It must be remembered that Grieg originally wrote his Holberg Suite for the piano. In other words, he only later arranged it for strings. Further, Grieg composed by and large many songs with lyrics by famous writers such as Heine, Goethe, Ibsen, Hans Christian Andersen, Rudyard Kipling, and others. On balance, Norwegian pianist Eva Knardahl recorded altogether Grieg’s whole piano catalog on LP in 1980. These recordings were released again on CD in 2006. In any event, Grieg himself performed and recorded the bulk of these pieces toward the end of his life. Register for free lifetime revisions and updates at www.jamesguthrie.com

Brass Quintet Euphonium,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1320896 Composed by John Philip Sousa. Arranged by Matthew Nunes. Chamber,Classical,Historic,March,Patriotic. 26 pages. Matthew Nunes Music #909335. Published by Matthew Nunes Music (A0.1320896). Recycled from Sousa’s operetta of the same name, this is one of Sousa’s longest marches. Personally, the euphonium part is one of the most difficult and demanding excerpts I’ve seen on auditions. Though I’ve followed the Marine Band edition section titles I disagree with their designations. I see mm. 22-33 as an Interlude, not a Strain, while mm. 52-68, though it adds a flat, is less a Trio melody and more an additional Strain. No matter the semantics, this is a charming and unique march close to my heart. This Brass Quintet arrangement was made using “The President’s Own†United States Marine Band’s The Complete Marches of John Philip Sousa score as found at https://www.marineband.marines.mil/Audio-Resources/The-Complete-Marches-of-John-Philip-Sousa/. The Free Lance was composed in 1906, and the referenced edition was made Public Domain in 2018. The piece is catalogued as Volume 4, No. 64.

String Quartet - Intermediate - Digital Download By Panic! At the Disco. Arranged by Sarah Cellobat Chaffee. Score, Set of Parts. 21 pages. Published by Sarah Chaffee
"High Hopes" was released by Panic! At The Disco in 2018 as a single from their sixth studio album, "Pray For The Wicked." This upbeat, catchy song soon became a smash hit, reaching number 4 on the Billboard charts and becoming their highest-charting single of all time. This arrangement for string quartet has the exuberant energy, rich harmonic layers, driving beat, and dynamic impact of the original, and it's absolutely as much fun to play as it is to listen to! Great for parties, corporate events, solo & ensemble contests, or even weddings and receptions, it's a guaranteed crowd pleaser and you're sure to get your audience singing along. This arrangement is dedicated to a good friend of mine who was in P!ATD's string section on their "Pray For The Wicked" tour -- Kiara, it was so much fun watching you play this song with them! Rated intermediate, this chart will be playable for students and easily sightreadable for professionals. There is nothing above first position in the V2, viola, and cello parts, and only a few notes higher than that in V1. There are a few tied rhythms in but nothing too complicated.<br> <br> Why choose Cellobat Charts arrangements? For any musician who knows what they're doing, the answer is easy: just listen to them. Every freelance musician has thrown hard-earned money away on questionable, error-filled charts by unknown arrangers from weird corners of the Internet. But watch out -- inferior arrangements not only make gigs less enjoyable to play, but they also make your group sound bad to your client and audience, no matter how great your players really are. That's why Cellobat Charts is here: to provide students and working string players alike with high-quality versions of highly requested music. My arrangements are guaranteed to be energetic, fun to play, and enjoyable to listen to, whether or not you're familiar with the original songs. Hear the difference for yourself! Full videos of many Cellobat Charts arrangements are available on YouTube so you know exactly what you're getting. Click "Watch" near the item details at the top of the page for full video of "High Hopes." Crowd pleasing guaranteed.<br> <br> <br> Sarah "Cellobat" Chaffee earned her bachelor's degree in cello performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and is now based in Las Vegas. She currently performs with Aerosmith in their "Deuces Are Wild" residency at The Park MGM Theater on the Las Vegas Strip. Sarah is also the principal cellist in David Perrico's Pop Strings Orchestra, a 14-piece band that performs every Friday and Saturday at Caesars Palace, and she plays regularly for Premiere Wedding Music and Bella Electric Strings. Sarah has performed and recorded with many other artists including Halsey, Disturbed, Mötley Crüe, Celine Dion, Kygo, Ricky Martin, Sarah Brightman, Il Divo, and Lady Antebellum. Duration: 6:25. Digital Download PRO: BMI (ISRC: QZDA81912907) Original Sound Recording produced by Visionary Quest Records (www.visionaryquestrecords.com)Your intermediate level to advanced students and even professional musicians should find this to be a welcomed piece to learn and master. It looks deceptively simple but the learning and challenge comes from two smaller sub-ensembles playing together in their own collective units legato con moto while playing together as a whole music ensemble Everyone will enjoy and bathe in the beautiful harmonies that will resonate when the entire music ensemble begins to listen to each while playing together as a group. Your musicians will hone their skills in playing together with just the right balance that this song requires. Your musicians will also hone their skills for subdividing and maintaining an inner beat that is in sync with your conducting because there is no percussion and the notes are freely flowing on and off the down beat yet not sounding heavily syncopated when performed. When will you know when you have achieved the right balance and flow of the music? You will know when, because you will hear it and feel it when it comes into place. But I can help you with all of this with what I have to offer you today. I share with you now Tears from My Eyes: Mourning in the Rain (for Clarinet Choir).Tears from My Eyes music collection is very suitable and moving for funerals, memorials, church, or contemplative settings. Helpful hints: In addition to getting the counts down, even more important is to practice feeling the music collectively together because rigid counting takes away from the flowing emotive nature of the piece. There are actually 3 smaller ensembles within this piece that all three subgroups must musically move together in harmony, rhythm, and balance. When that is achieved, the music and harmonic overtones will be exquisite. The instrumentation is also so important because of the timbre that each instrument contributes to the ensemble. Musicality is key to this piece. This song is the title song on Tito Abeleda's album Mourning in the Rain released on 9/11/2019.Contact info: Tito AbeledaVisionary Quest Recordshttps://www.visionaryquestrecordsEmail: tito@visionaryquestrecords.comFollow Tito on Social Media:Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/titoabeledaTwitter: https://twitter.com/titoabeledaInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/tabeledaYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/titoabeledaSpotify: http://bit.ly/TitoAbeleda-on-SpotifyiTunes/Apple Music: http://bit.ly/TitoAbeleda_iTunesPerforming Rights Organization is BMI.com.Customer Service: 800-925-8451

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Digital Download SKU: A0.1455189 Composed by Claude Debussy (1862-1918). Arranged by Stephen Levintow. 20th Century,Romantic Period. 6 pages. Cypress Publishing #1034275. Published by Cypress Publishing (A0.1455189). This lovely short work was composed by Debussy in 1910 as number 8 in volume I of his Préludes for solo piano. The texture and harmony are more simple and straightforward than most of his other work of the period, and it opens with a memorable melody, likely the reasons for its enduring popularity. A quiet and gentle piece, only once does it rise as high as mezzo-forte, but only for one measure before returning to piano. The Arban Manual is a complete course that takes you through the Arban Method in 69 well organized lessons. You will need The Arban Method to use this course. Each lesson is a balanced day of practice. This version is for the older Carl Fischer Arban Method.<br> <br> Description<br> The Arban Manual is a complete course that takes you through the Arban Method in 69 well organized lessons. You will need The Arban Method to use this course. Each lesson is a balanced day of practice.<br> Why<br> Arban’s Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet andArban’s Famous Method for Trombone have been two of the most widely used brass books for over 100 years. The Arban Manual is simply a guide in how to practice Arban. The Arban Manual will take you step by step through the entire Arban method. The Arban Manual is not a technique book and the practice advice should work well with most brass methodology.<br> <br> How<br> A minimum of one week should be spent on each lesson, although many choose to spend longer. If you are having trouble with one part of a lesson, you may wish to spend more time on that part. Most lessons are divided into six parts that should be practiced in the prescribed order. It is recommended that you rest between each part and try to spread your practicing throughout the day as best you can.<br> <br> Range Considerations<br> Students who are ready to play from Arban should have a “usable range” up to A (concert G). Many of the easy studies do go this high. Although there are not many really high notes in Arbanby today’s standards, some of the studies can be quite taxing. An example of this is the interval studies on p. 126-129.<br> If you are not able to reach the highest keys at first, go as far you can comfortably, be sure to rest properly, and try to go further the next day. Remember, you will likely play from Arban in one way or another for most of your life, so don’t rush your progress.<br> <br> Warming Up<br> One of the shortcomings of Arban is the lack of solid warm up material. Part I of each lesson is designed to be a warm up. Some teachers and students may find this inadequate for a warm up. Therefore, feel free to supplement the lesson plan with a warm up of your choosing. After your warm up, continue with Part I of the lesson.<br> <br> Performance Etudes<br> I’ve designated some of the more melodic and well balanced etudes as “performance etudes”. These can be used for auditions or recitals and should be prepared for that purpose. Some teachers or students may have other favorite etudes that they may choose to use for the purpose of performance.<br> <br> All of the characteristic studies and celebrated fantaisies are considered performance pieces.<br> <br> Models<br> Models are different ways of playing an exercise. Many modelsinvolve using different articulations on a given exercise. Arban’suse of models is not extensive so I have chosen to expand on it, giving the student even more practice material. All models must be practiced thoroughly as prescribed in the lessons.<br> <br> The Hard Stuff<br> At some point in your study of Arban you may come across something that you just can’t play, or play at tempo. This often involves triple or double tonguing. Don’t let this discourage you. Practice it diligently and slowly. You may want to stay with it for more than one lesson. After practicing the difficult etude for at least a month, make a note of it and return to it later. Brass playing is a lifetime commitment and you should continue to grow throughout your playing career. Many of the world’s top players can’t play everything in the Arban book.<br> <br> Multiple Tonguing<br> Selecting the best syllables for multiple tonguing is often a problem for brass players and teachers. Although Arbanrecommends “tu ku”, many have had success using “tuh kuh”, “duh guh”, “tee kee” and many others. Finding your best syllables may take some experimentation.<br> <br> Extending Exercises<br> Beginning with Lesson 44, some of the exercises are reviewed and extended. This is to provide more upper range work, more key work and different models.<br> <br> Transposition<br> Beginning with Lesson 47, exercises are suggested to be transposed for trumpets in different keys. These are the most common transpositions and are only to provide the trumpet player with some basic transposition skills. Bass clef instruments need to substitute other material here such as clef practice.<br> The first transposition is for C trumpet which is useful for reading music in concert pitch. The second transposition is for Ab trumpet which is useful if you play a C trumpet and want to read a Bb part.<br> <br> Songs and duets<br> Some teachers love these and others don’t. I suggest you try them and if you’d like to supplement other pieces that you need to work on, please feel free to do so.<br> <br> For bass clef instruments<br> Although the page numbering is different, the exercises in the bass clef edition are numbered the same as the trumpet edition, therefore making The Arban Manual viable for bass clef instruments.<br> <br> The songs and duets have been left out of the early bass clef version of Arban, although there is now a new version that does include them. Feel free to supplement music of your choice. Some of the articulations and models may not be practical for slide trombone.

Patented in 1928 by Russian/Soviet television and surveillance researcher Leon Theremin, the instrument named for him is one of the world’s oldest electronic musical instruments. As a performer, the Thereminist pays some prices. They do not touch their instrument when playing, they cannot operate the device with people in range of the sensors (there are no Theremin sections in symphony orchestras), and compared to other instruments there are few teachers. Learning to play a Theremin is a lonely experience.Enter the public domain and the Digital Age, where increased online resources for listening to music on free streaming services and other platforms, form a special opportunity to jam.The Theremin Play-Along Book is a collection of twenty-eight imaginary parts for classical compositions that allow the Thereminist to solo along with existing recordings, integrate into a Western orchestral or chamber concert, or hone playing and listening skills by singing in an online shower. The volume includes selections from Puccini, Verdi, Faure, Debussy and even adaptations of Wagner's Liebestod and Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the Bumble Bee.

The Arban Manual is a complete course that takes you through the Arban Method in 69 well organized lessons. You will need The Arban Method to use this course. Each lesson is a balanced day of practice. This version is for the newer, Hooten edition published by Fischer. Why Arban?s Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet andArban?s Famous Method for Trombone have been two of the most widely used brass books for over 100 years. The Arban Manual is simply a guide in how to practice Arban. The Arban Manual will take you step by step through the entire Arban method. Piano,Soprano Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549121 Composed by Camille Saint-Saëns (1835 – 1921). Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 9 pages. Jmsgu3 #3452273. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549121). Saint-Saens: The Swan (Le Cygne) movement 13 from the Carnival of the Animals Suite. Duration: 2:50 Score: 5 pg, 28 ms. Solo part: 1 pg. Piano part: 3 pg. Performance: Level: Early intermediate and up. One of his most popular and widely recognized works, it is the only movement from the Carnival Suite that Saint-Saens permitted to be performed in public during his lifetime. This is an excellent recital encore choice to demonstrate melodic playing and strategic phrasing. The Carnival of the Animals The Carnival of the Animals is an entertaining musical suite of fourteen movements by Camille Saint-Saëns. The work was composed for private performance by an ensemble of two pianos and solo instruments. The Swan (No. 13) is one of the most popular of the fourteen movements. In its entirety, it lasts about 25 minutes. Saint-Saëns Background Charles-Camille Saint-Saëns (1835 – 1921) was, by all means, in particular, a famous French composer, brilliant organist, and significant musical mastermind of the Romantic era. Indeed, his most famous compositions, in the long run, including his Piano Concerto No. 2 (1868), Cello Concerto No. 1 (1872), and the Danse macabre (1874). Notwithstanding, we must also add Violin Concerto No. 3 (1880), Symphony No. 3 (the Organ Symphony, 1886), it must be remembered, Carnival of the Animals (1886) to the list. Childhood It is important to realize that Saint-Saëns was certainly, in fact, a child musical prodigy. Consequently, with this in mind, he made his concert debut albeit at ten years old. Another key point to remember is that he expressly studied at the Paris Conservatoire, then in spite of reality conversely followed a traditional career path as a church organist. Nevertheless, twenty years later, on the other hand, he left to become a successful freelance pianist and composer despite, as has been noted, his former employment situation. Furthermore, his performances were after all markedly in demand - not only in Europe but above all in the Americas all in all as well. Youth A point often overlooked is that in his youth, Saint-Saëns was certainly excited about the modern music of the day. He was in essence fond of the music of his contemporaries, in particular, Schumann, Liszt, and for the most part Wagner. In contrast, however, his own compositions seemed in fact largely confined within the conservative classical tradition. Be that as it may, he was at the same time nevertheless, in fact, a scholar of musical history. Criticism On the whole, his conservatism in fact ultimately brought him into frequent conflict in his later years with composers of the impressionist and in particular the dodecaphonic schools of musical thought.  A point often overlooked is that he included neoclassical elements in his music contrary to some critics. Furthermore, in so doing he provided the most compelling evidence that he predicted the techniques and works by Stravinsky and Les Six. To put it another way, given these points, he was regarded, perhaps for the most part unfairly so, as a non-progressive reactionary henceforth around the time of his passing. Legacy To sum up, Saint-Saëns taught for a short time in Paris, where his students included namely Gabriel Fauré. To clarify, Maurice Ravel later studied with Fauré. In conclusion, both Ravel and Fauré were powerfully influenced by Saint-Saëns, whom they respected as a musical mastermind.

Furthermore, in so doing, he provided the most compelling evidence that he predicted the techniques and works by Stravinsky and Les Six. To put it another way, given these points, he was regarded, perhaps for the most part unfairly, as a non-progressive reactionary henceforth around the time of his passing.LegacySaint-Saëns taught briefly in Paris, where his students included Gabriel Fauré. Maurice Ravel later studied with Fauré. In conclusion, both Ravel and Fauré were powerfully influenced by Saint-Saëns, whom they respected as a musical mastermind.

French Horn,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1313124 Composed by Camille Saint-Saens. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. 19th Century,Chamber,Contest,Festival,Romantic Period,Wedding. Score and part. 9 pages. Jmsgu3 #901955. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1313124). Saint-Saëns: The Swan (Le Cygne) movement 13 from the Carnival of the Animals Suite. One of his most popular and widely recognized works, it is the only movement from the Carnival Suite that Saint-Saëns permitted to be performed publicly during his lifetime. This is an excellent recital encore to demonstrate melodic playing and strategic phrasing. The Carnival of the AnimalsThe Carnival of the Animals is an entertaining musical suite of fourteen movements by Camille Saint-Saëns. The work was composed for private performance by an ensemble of two pianos and solo instruments. The Swan (No. 13) is among the fourteen most famous movements. In its entirety, it lasts about 25 minutes.Saint-Saëns BackgroundCharles-Camille Saint-Saëns 1835 – 1921) was, by all means, in particular, a famous French composer, brilliant organist, and significant musical mastermind of the Romantic era. Indeed, his most famous compositions, in the long run, include his Piano Concerto No. 2 (1868), Cello Concerto No. 1 (1872), and the Danse macabre (1874). Notwithstanding, we must also add Violin Concerto No. 3 (1880), Symphony No. 3 (the Organ Symphony, 1886), and, it must be remembered, Carnival of the Animals (1886) to the list.ChildhoodIt is essential to realize that Saint-Saëns was undoubtedly, in fact, a child musical prodigy. Consequently, with this in mind, he made his concert debut, albeit at ten years old. Another critical point to remember is that he expressly studied at the Paris Conservatoire, then, despite reality, conversely followed a traditional career path as a church organist. Nevertheless, twenty years later, on the other hand, he left to become a successful freelance pianist and composer despite, as has been noted, his former employment situation. Furthermore, his performances were, after all, markedly in demand - not only in Europe but, above all, in the Americas all in all as well.YouthA point often overlooked is that in his youth, Saint-Saëns was undoubtedly excited about the modern music of the day. He was, in essence, fond of the music of his contemporaries, particularly Schumann, Liszt, and, for the most part, Wagner. In contrast, however, his compositions seemed, in fact, primarily confined within the conservative classical tradition. Be that as it may, he was, at the same time, nevertheless, a scholar of musical history.CriticismOn the whole, his conservatism, in fact, ultimately brought him into frequent conflict in his later years with composers of the impressionist and, in particular, the dodecaphonic schools of musical thought.
