Ukulele - Level 3 - SKU: A0.910264 By Queen. By Brian May. Arranged by Carol Hills. Rock. Score. 4 pages. Carol Hills #5009465. Published by Carol Hills (A0.910264). This is an Intermediate Level arrangement written in a chord-melody style. It includes ukulele tab, chords and notes, as well as the song's lyrics. This is an enjoyable song to play on the ukulele and the chord-melody style allows you to play an interesting combination of the melody intermixed with strumming the chords. This type of arrangement encourages the player to interpret this song's story while playing it. This song tells a science fiction story of a group who take a year-long journey into space. Upon their return to Earth, they discover one-hundred years have gone by. This is due to Einstein's special theory of relativity time-dilation effect. This song embraces the emotions associated with such a circumstance. This arrangement was inspired by the thought that this toe-tapping song, from this great rock band, is rare in that it addresses this particular aspect of Einstein's theory.Special thanks to Jon Hofmann for his encouragement and advice.

Percussion Quintet Bells,Marimba,Optional Percussion,Snare Drum,Suspended Cymbal,Vibraphone - Level 3 - SKU: A0.1350204 Composed by Brian L. Monroe. 21st Century,Chamber,Instructional. 11 pages. BLM Music Publications (https://brianmonroemusic.com) #934989. Published by BLM Music Publications (https://brianmonroemusic.com) (A0.1350204). Gravitational Ripples are 'waves' in space-time caused by some of the most violent and energetic processes in the Universe.  Albert Einstein predicted the existence of gravitational waves in 1916 in his general theory of relativity. Einstein's mathematics showed that massive accelerating objects (things like neutron stars or black holes orbiting each other) would disrupt space-time in such a way that 'waves' of undulating space-time would propagate in all directions away from the source. These cosmic ripples would travel at the speed of light, carrying with them information about their origins, as well as clues to the nature of gravity itself. This quintet for percussion ensemble works to convey the power & energetic nature of these ripples in space-time.  Grade 3Instrumentation: Percussion 1: Bells, Woodblock, Crash Cymbal Percussion 2: Vibes, 3 Tom Toms, Sizzle Cymbal Percussion 3:  Marimba 1, Snare Drum Percussion 4:  Marimba 2, Gong (bow & mallet) Percussion 5: Timpani, Snare Drum, Triangle.

By Michael Perlowin. For All Instruments. All Styles. 48 pages. Published by Mel Bay Publications - Digital Sheet Music
ISBN 9781609742409. In this book Mike Perlowin combines the practical experience of being a working musician in the fields of rock, blues, country, RandB, reggae, and bluegrass with the theoretical knowledge of an academic background to explain music theory in terms that any moderately accomplished musician can understand. Starting with the most basic of lessons, Perlowin clearly and concisely explains the tonal relationships between notes and how they form different types of scales and chords. Instead of using examples from unfamiliar classical music, this book uses well known tunes like Mary had a Little Lamb or Silent Night to illustrate theoretical principles. Rather than offering information on how to play a specific instrument, this book is designed for people who already play proficiently but don't understand music's underlying theoretical principles. Although the book is relatively short, it contains the equivalent of a year's worth of college level material, all made accessible to the average musician desiring a better understanding of music theory.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1173633 Composed by Pasquale Cafaro. Arranged by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo. Classical,Early Music,Opera. Score. 7 pages. Nicole Elyse DiPaolo #773780. Published by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo (A0.1173633). Accessible Accompaniments is proud to present the first-ever modern-clef performing edition of Pasquale Cafaro’s once enormously popular aria, “Belle luci, che accendete,†from La disfatta di Dario (1756). As noted in Giorgio Sanguinetti’s The Art of Partimento and other sources, this aria was considered the ideal Galant-era (early Classical) example of aria writing in its day, and its theme was even painted onto pottery to be sold to tourists in Naples. While the aria was written for a castrato role, Alessandro, it is ideal for today’s young lyric coloratura sopranos who want to prepare for Mozart roles but wish to wait until they’ve found their mature vocal technique before tackling those roles. Additionally, because this La disfatta di Dario setting is a rarity and singers are unlikely to be hired for this role, it could be sung in transposition by young mezzos and other fachs without causing logistical issues like the need to produce orchestral parts in new keys.Other aspects of this aria that make it a welcome addition to the voice teacher’s library are its widespread orchestral doubling of the vocal line (something that will help students who are still working on intonation and support), its relatively short, Italian-language text for easy memorization and diction acquisition, and its straightforward textual content—it’s a love song. In audition situations, this aria will be enjoyable for panels to hear, and because they will be very unlikely to know the aria, they won’t be able to critique it as closely as they would critique an aria they know well. It should also be sight-readable by an audition pianist of middling skill, another important consideration in choosing audition repertoire. This new edition was engraved using Bernardo Mengozzi’s piano-vocal reduction from 1804, which preserves the soprano clef voice part and is not widely usable today, and I made some corrections to missing accidentals and articulations by cross-checking with the manuscript full score. Both are available at imslp.org. I also write out the appoggiatura executions and one potentially confusing polyrhythm on ossia staves to assist young singers/collaborative pianists who haven’t done much of this repertoire.Range: Eb4-Bb5 without ornamentationTessitura: around Bb4-F5/G5  Text:Belle luci, che accendeteIn quest' alma un dolce foco,Siete voi, e voi sareteLa mia calma, e il mio piacer.Sì, la calma, e il piacer mioTutto, e sempre in voi s'aggira,Per voi solo il cor respira,Nè più brama il mio pensier.About the Arranger behind Accessible Accompaniments Editions:Praised as a sensitive pianist and outstanding accompanist who delivers powerful interpretations, Nicole Elyse DiPaolo enjoys a multifaceted career as a sought-after collaborative pianist, educational composer, arranger, coach, private teacher, and adjunct music professor. Bass clarinet & bassoon - SKU: IZ.IMS1610 Composed by Thomas Breadon Jr. Score and Parts. 18 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #IMS1610. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.IMS1610). 9 x 12 in inches.Though my training as a musician and a composer is firmly rooted in western art music, more specifically within anAmerican collegiate environment, a lot of my inspiration and musical influences come from jazz. In Lyddimy, compositional influence came from one of my favorite jazz composers and theorists, George Russell. The LydianDiminished Scale , in which all but one note of the pitch material is derived, comes directly out of Russell's theory,The Lydian Chromatic Concept of Tonal Organization . Another inspiration for this piece are my close friends hereat Arizona State University, Dr. Audrey Miller (of whom this piece was written for) and Dr. Kate Mackenzie. It wasin spending time with them that the subject matter and the inspiration to write this piece of music culminated. It is, however, the theme of the composition that ties the entire piece together. Though it is literally woven into thefabric of this piece, and relatively easy to point out, in listening, and even in analyzing the piece, it would bedifficult for one to discover the theme, much less find all of the nuances that unfold. It's pretty easy to see the wordLyddimy is partially derived from the name of the scale being used: the LYD ian DIM inished scale. However, you might also notice that Lyddimy bares resemblance to another word from the english language of a sexuallyexplicit nature. Lyddimy is designed first and foremost as a mirror image of cultures that are comprised of verysexual human beings, yet have obscured the idea of sex or even the mentioning of the word (through miseducationand/or the misuse of religion) in a manner that is confusing and misleading to the community at large.

Piano Quartet - Level 3 - SKU: A0.548651 Composed by James Pierpont. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas. 17 pages. Jmsgu3 #3408091. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548651). A unique arrangement of Jingle Bells arranged for a piano quartet (piano, violin, viola, cello, and optional sleigh bells). The first verses are based on the traditional version. After an abrupt modulation, the third verse explores an augmentation canon, while the viola pursues a wild sleigh ride passage. Meanwhile, the tune is fragmented and sequenced in the piano. It gets wild but straightens out for the final refrain. Score: 7 pg, 68 ms. String parts: 2 pg. Sleighbell part: 1 pg. Piano part: 3 pg. Jingle Bells is perhaps the most famous song in American music history. James L. Pierpont published the song One Horse Open Sleigh in the late 1850s. Since its introduction, people began to insist that Pierpont wrote it for a Sunday school choir. However, it seems unlikely that such a secular song would be considered appropriate during that historical period for Sunday school. Christmas Repertoire Pierpont wrote the song for the Thanksgiving holidays, but over time people began to think of it more as a Christmas song. Some choirs adopted it as part of their Christmas repertoire in the 1860s and 1870s. Jingle Bells was first recorded in 1889 on a wax cylinder. Origins No one knows where Pierpont composed the song. One theory suggests he wrote it in Medford Massachusetts in 1850. Sleigh races were certainly popular in 19th-century Massachusetts. To this day, a commemorative placard appears in Medford Square claiming that it is the birthplace of Jingle Bells. Others suggest that he wrote it in Savannah, Georgia where he was an organist and music director at the Unitarian Church. This theory gained support from the copyright date of 1857. We know he was living in Savannah by then. Traffic Signals Horse-drawn sleighs are relatively quiet in the snow. Consequently, horses were usually equipped with bell-laden straps so as to avoid accidents at blind intersections. Sleigh drivers in 19th Century New England were constantly vigilant, listening for the sounds of approaching horse-drawn sleighs. The tune imitates the rhythm that the trotting horse bells produce. Social Context Jingle Bells was sung as a drinking song at local revelries: during the song, folks would rhythmically jingle the ice in their glasses. A sleigh ride allowed couples to be alone together. The term Jingle bells is a poetic descriptive adjective referring specifically to the more accurate term sleigh bells. In many arrangements, sleigh bells accentuate the rhythm during the song's chorus. Â

Piano,Trombone - Level 2 - SKU: A0.548658 Composed by James Pierpont. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas. Score and part. 8 pages. Jmsgu3 #3408227. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548658). Jingle Bells arranged for trombone & piano featuring an unusual final verse. Jingle Bells is perhaps the most famous songs in American music history. James L. Pierpont published the song as One Horse Open Sleigh in the late 1850’s. Since its introduction, people began to insist that Pierpont wrote it for a Sunday school choir. However, it seems unlikely that such a secular song would be considered appropriate during that historical period for Sunday school.Christmas Repertoire Pierpont wrote the song for the Thanksgiving holidays, but over time people began to think of it more as a Christmas song. Sleigh races were certainly popular in 19th Century Massachusetts. To this day, a commemorative placard appears in Medford square claiming that it is the birthplace of Jingle Bells. Others suggest that he wrote it in Savannah, Georgia where he was an organist and music director at the Unitarian Church. This theory gains support from the copyright date of 1857. Social Context Jingle Bells was sung as a drinking song at local revelries: during the song folks would rhythmically jangle the ice in their glasses. A sleigh ride gave couples an opportunity to be alone together. The term Jingle bells is a poetic descriptive adjective referring specifically to the more accurate term sleigh bells. In many arrangements, sleigh bells are used to accentuate the rhythm during the song chorus. Register for free lifetime updates and revisions at www.jamesguthrie.com
