Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1017655 Composed by ren. Contemporary. Score. 9 pages. Ren #6207513. Published by ren (A0.1017655). so i did this one for fun mostly, but it is a cute little piece with a few weird time signature changes that could be quite useful for teaching an intermediate student the joy of time signature changing! the piece itself isn't too challenging but you do need some experience to make your way through it so i wouldn't put it in front of a fairly new student, enjoy :3

Chording to the Dance Masters - Melody and chords for 44 Renaissance Dance Consort pieces

C Instrument - Level 2 - Digital Download By Various. By Anonymous, Claudin de Sermisy, Henry VIII, Pierre Phalese, Thoinot Arbeau, John Dowland (1563- 1626), Michael Praetorius (1571-1621), Pierre Attaignant (1494-1553), Pierre Certon (1510-1572), William Cornysh (1470-1523), Juan Del Encina (1468-1530), Claude Gervaise (1540-1560), Giorgio Mainerio (1535-1582), Erasmus Widmann (1572-1634), and Tielman Susato (1500-1561). Arranged by Alastair Lodge. 151, 153, 162, Folk, Renaissance. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 38 pages. Wold Meridian #727149. Published by Wold Meridian
Chording to the Dance Masters is a selection of dance tunes that were collected originally between about 1500 and 1620. Printing made many of these tunes popular throughout Europe during these times, some of them composed by the printer/publishers themselves, but many more of them existed previously as rustic dance tunes or popular chansons. The works were originally published to be played by three to five instrumentalists, with no particular instruments specified. They suited consorts or “choirs” of instruments that were depicted in the illustrations of Agricola, Mersenne and most notably Praetorius and are now preserved in museums around the world.<br> <br> Many editions exist in the 3, 4 or 5 parts as originally published, and these are an absolute joy to perform from, where the interweaving parts create interesting harmonies that demonstrate the skills of these renaissance composer/arranger/publishers. Playing with modern reproductions of the early instruments will recreate textures and sounds unique to this period. However, not everyone is lucky enough to either own these instruments or else have contact with others with whom they could form ensembles. This book aims to widen the experience out to those who would like to play these tunes on their own or with the accompaniment of a guitar, keyboard or other available chordal instrument. Fake books abound for those who wish to play Jazz, Folk, Classical and Popular music where the melody is annotated with chords so that players can access these tunes in their own way. As far as I am aware, this has not often been done for the player who wishes to busk their way through music of the Renaissance period.<br> <br> I have attempted to include all the chords implied by the polyphonic parts of the original publications, simply because it is in the transitions of the harmonies under the melodies where the genius of the original arranger/publisher resides. Those who go on to explore the original versions may look forward to the way in which each line presents the player with intrinsically beautiful counter melodies.<br> <br> At first, the rapidity of chord changing can be a bit daunting, so I have marked out what I consider to be the essential chords for accompaniment in boxes. Playing just these will provide adequate accompaniment, whilst leaving the more adventurous scope to enhance their performance by referencing some of the other chords. You can hear the chording arrangements together with the original 3, 4 or 5 part versions of all 44 pieces on a YouTube playlist which has been made as a companion to this volume at<br> <br> https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYRWH2nycMkMoIoEYEMVPa_EXY6NVDpNS<br> <br> As well as the solo or player in a duo, this book would also be of value for someone who is used to reading chords rather than melody lines wishing to join in with a renaissance consort. The selection I have chosen represents quite a few of the “standards” that have become regularly played since the revival of renaissance music in the late 1960s. It is hoped that should this volume prove popular, companion volumes with all the parts provided for the same pieces could make essential repertoire for the budding renaissance dance consorts of the future.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1033340 Composed by Neil Awasthi. Contemporary. Score. 6 pages. Neil Awasthi #6352703. Published by Neil Awasthi (A0.1033340). The chase is afoot! A rather large cat attempts to hunt a wily mouse. The mouse tries to escape the cat’s clutches. Who succeeds? This piece’s ternary form follows the chase between a cat and mouse. Section A is lively and fast-paced because the cat is on the hunt for the mouse. Since this piece is written from the mouse’s perspective, C-sharp minor conveys the mouse’s fright and fear. The time signature is 4/4 to allow for 16th notes, which denote running steps. The theme in m.19 repeats several times throughout Section A to signify the large cat’s ominous stalking. Tenutos and staccatos punctuate the cat’s heavy steps. In m.14-15, the chromatic scale represents the cat’s momentum. The constantly changing dynamics showcase the various movements and emotions in a chase. Specifically, in m.28-31, the dynamic changes to piano and pedal is employed to signify the mouse’s despair. Section B stands alone, representing the mouse’s successful escape from the cat. The section’s key signature D-flat major is light and happy. A time signature of 6/8 swings, furthering the carefree mood of the mouse. The beginning of Section B repeats to emphasize the mouse’s joyous escape. However, at the end of the section, the cat returns. In m.61-68, varying speeds and descriptors contrast the movements of the cat and mouse. In m.68, the cat’s theme is an octave lower to draw attention to the cat’s threatening, heavy steps. In m.70-71, the notes accelerate to show that the mouse begins to run again. Section A’s refrain recaps the cat chasing the mouse. In m.89-100, the end, tells the mouse’s fate. The climatic ending is highlighted by the speeding tempo. The treble-clef notes are an octave higher to build excitement. In m.95-96, notes descend 4 octaves to indicate the mouse’s ultimate demise. The piece ends with grand chords to mark the mouse’s death.

Spanish National Anthem for Symphony Orchestra (Kt Olympic Anthem Series)

Full Orchestra - Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Manuel de Espinosa de lo…

Full Orchestra - Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Manuel de Espinosa de los Monteros (1730-1810). Arranged by Keith Terrett. Classical Period, European, Patriotic. 30 pages. Published by Music for all Occasions
The Spanish National Anthem arranged for full Symphony Orchestra, there is a short version in my store in case you need it! Just need a sporting event now such as an Olympics!<br> <br> The Marcha Real (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈmartʃa reˈal], "Royal March") is the national anthem of Spain. It is one of only three national anthems (along with that of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Kosovo) in the world to have no official lyrics.<br> <br> One of the oldest in the world, the anthem was first printed in a document dated 1761 and entitled Libro de la Ordenanza de los Toques de Pífanos y Tambores que se tocan nuevamente en la Ynfant° Española (Book of the Ordenance of Newly Played Military Drum and Fife Calls by The Spanish Infantry ), by Manuel de Espinosa. Here it is entitled La Marcha Granadera ("March of the Grenadiers"). There is written its score on this book. According to this document, Manuel de Espinosa de los Monteros is the composer.<br> <br> There is a false belief that Marcha Real’s author was Frederick II of Prussia, a great lover of music. This belief started in 1861 when it appears for the first time publied in La España militar (The Militar Spain). In 1864, the colonel Antonio Vallecillo publishes the history in the diary El Espíritu Público (The Public Spirit), making the supposed Prussian origin of Marcha Real popular. According to Vallecillo, the anthem was a gift from Frederick II to the soldier Juan Martín Álvarez de Sotomayor, who was serving in the Prussian Court to learn the military tactics developed by Frederick II’s army, under orders of King Charles III. In 1868 the history is published in Los Sucesos, changing the destinatary of the gift with Pedro Pablo Abarca de Bolea, Count of Aranda. The myth was picked up like this in different publications of 1884 and 1903, until being included in 1908 in the Enciclopedia Espasa.<br> <br> According to the tradition in 1770, Charles III declared the Marcha de Granaderos as the official Honor March, and with that formalized the habit of playing it in public and solemn acts. It became the official anthem during Isabel II’s reign.<br> <br> After the 1868 Revolution, General Prim convoked a national contest to create an official anthem, but it was declared deserted, advising the jury that Marcha de Granaderos was considered as such. By Alfonso XIII’s time, it was established by a Royal Circular Order (27 August 1908) that interpreted the harmonization of the march done by Bartolomé Pérez Casas, Major Music of the Royal Corps of Halberdier Guards. During the Second Republic, Himno de Riego was adopted as official anthem, although after the Spanish Civil War, Marcha Real returned to be used as anthem, sometimes sung with the verses written by the poet José María Pemán in 1928.<br> <br> The actual symphonic version of the Marcha Real that replaces the Pérez Casas one, belongs to maestro Francisco Grau and is the official one after the Royal Decree of 10 October 1997, when the Kingdom of Spain bought the author rights of the Marcha Real, then belonging to Pérez Casas’ Heirs. According to the Royal Decree 1560/1997, the anthem should have a tone of B major and a tempo of 76 bpm (♩=76), with a form of AABB and a duration of 52 seconds.<br> <br> Under the Trienio Liberal (1820-1823), the First Spanish Republic (1873–74) (when it enjoyed of a co-officiality) and the Second Spanish Republic (1931–1939), El Himno de Riego replaced La Marcha Real as the national anthem of Spain. At the conclusion of the Civil War, however, Francisco Franco restored La Marcha Real as the country’s national anthem, under its old title of La Marcha Granadera.<br> <br> Interpretation and etiquette:<br> <br> Military bands of the Spanish Armed Forces and the National Police Corps of Spain and civilian Marching bands and Concert bands play the B flat-major version of the anthem adapted for wind bands (as arranged by Francisco Grau), and playing the A Major version is optional.<br> <br> The bugle call "To the Colors" in Spain is the version played by Bugle bands in Spanish churches in religious occasions and processions organized by civil groups and the parishes. Various versions adapted for the drum and the bugle are used, even though brass instruments play the anthem as well. But in some bugle bands, the A flat version of the anthem (the old official one, adapted for the bugle) is played. Only a bugle call is sounded when the B flat version is played.<br> <br> Being the National Anthem, and in honor of the King and Queen of Spain, it’s a common practice for all to stand once it is played. Even though it is also played in church events, respect for the King and Queen (and the Royal Family as well) is required by everyone in attendance. As it happens civilians stand at attention while those in uniform salute when not in formation.<br> <br> The current official version, as described in Royal Decree 1560/1997, is a sixteen-bar long phrase, divided in two sections, each one is made up of four repeated bars (AABB form). Tempo is set to ♩= 76 and key to B flat.<br> <br> The long, complete version is the honors music for the King, while a shorter version without the repetitions is performed for the President of the Government of Spain, the Prince of Asturias, or during sporting events.<br> <br> There are also three official arrangements: one for orchestra, another for military band, and a third for organ, written by Francisco Grau Vegara and requested by the Government of Spain. All in all, there are six different official adaptations, for each arrangement and length. They all were recorded by the Spanish National Orchestra and the Spanish Royal Guard Band as an official recording and released on compact disc for a limited period of time.<br> <br> As the harmonization of the Marcha Real was written by Bartolomé Pérez Casas in the early 1900s, the copyright has not yet expired. The government bought it from Pérez Casas’ estate in 1997 for 130,000,000 pesetas (~ € 781,316) to avoid future legal problems. Until it expires, the copyright belongs to the Ministry of Culture and collecting societies charge copyright fees, which has led to criticism.<br> <br> As a result, many different harmonisations have been devised by performers to avoid paying. Nonetheless, the rights to the 1997 Francisco Grau revision were transferred to the government at no charge, although they were not placed in the public domain.<br> <br> Need an anthem fast? They are ALL in my store! All my anthem arrangements are also available for Orchestra, Recorders, Saxophones, Wind, Brass and Flexible band. If you need an anthem urgently for an instrumentation not in my store, let me know via e-mail, and I will arrange it for you FOC if possible! keithterrett@gmail.com

Changing times was part of a series of pieces aimed at preparing young players for the way music was written in the late twentieth century. Its harmonic structure was also intended to prepare the ear for 20th century sounds while remaining playable within their limited technique. It was featured several times in concerts in the concert hall of the Royal Northern College of Music. It takes the form of a concerto grosso, with a concertante group (string quartet) and ripieno strings. Piano Solo - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1031280 Composed by Adam R. Hass. Arranged by Adam R. Hass. Concert,Instructional,Standards. Score. 4 pages. Adam R. Hass #6073933. Published by Adam R. Hass (A0.1031280). This is my first original composition with PDF sheet music upload. The piece is a beginner's level variation on my theme, Changing Seasons, which I composed originally in October of 2008. Eventually this piece will be published for a large ensemble but for now, I am sticking with humble beginings. This version of the song is meant to serve as an etude for piano. The song is a fun study of arpeggiation, intriguing chordal movement including secondary dominants, repeats with 1st and 2nd endings, classic piano technique, dexterity, and a small homage to Pachelbel's Canon (although not in D, in this case.) This etude is written in the key of C Major for ease of learning's sake. The original composition was written in the key of D Major. I used PreSonus' Notion 6 for this project. However, I ran into a plethora of difficulties when I transferred the file over to PDF format. Some text was lost as well as the majority of all my performance and technique notes in the score. I will try to correct this ASAP and get the score reloaded. I really just need to get something posted on here because I AM a composer and I have never actually shared a composition in musical score form for others to purchase, play or peruse. This is my first ever. I hope whoever selects this piece enjoys it and might offer some constructive criticism or insight. Have fun! (Note, the piece is intended to be played at approximately 120 bpm but I encourage playing it slowly several times at first to figure out a way through the printing errors for now).

I’ve captured all of the material in my arrangement, changing the key just slightly so that the shapes and melody are comfortable, and simplifying one or two non-guitar-friendly progressions in the breaks. The bass-line and harmony are close to the original. Guitar 4 could be played an octave lower on a contra guitar, although I’ve used subharmonics in the opening to give the illusion of a deeper bass than a guitar can manage. In order to make the piece music-stand-friendly, I’ve needed to use repeat marks meaning that the second verse has the same bass-line as the first, but a simple change in volume will provide a suitable feeling of building as the piece progresses. The opening section needs to imitate the indefinite sustain of high-pitched violins. By using harmonics across all four parts, and interleaving the repetitions, we can get a convincing sustain (or plucking at random times across the parts, or even a tremolo would also create the illusion of indefinite sustain). But if it doesn’t work in your ensemble, simply start the piece at A and omit all harmonics from that point onwards. My arrangement will suit an intermediate ensemble. Parts 3 and 4 are slightly easier, but skilled players on these lines can make magic happen by a confident use of articulation to shape the music’s texture.I hope you enjoy performing this!

Distant Engraver Music #3538593. Published by Distant Engraver Music (A0.977038). This imaginative piece evokes the creation of a large metal sculpture and the various natural sounds that inspired it. Percussion instruments are used to evoke the quiet sounds of water bubbles, rain, ocean waves, a bird call... Then there are also many metallic scraping, tapping, dragging and hammering sounds evoking the sculptures creation. The sculpture itself is represented by a bright colorful chord succession, but the complete succession doesn't immediately appear. While the artist is still gathering metal materials and working on the sculpture, the chords appear as various isolated arpeggios in and around the various other sounds of the piece. It isn't until the sculpture begins taking shape that the tempo increases and the chords become recognizable as a theme. This piece requires performers with good ears for color and a knack for finding just the right way to strike or scrape an instrument (instructions are provided on the score). Also, there is much changing of mallets and/or the way they are held, and at times the vibraphone part requires wide-ranging fast arpeggios.INSTRUMENTATIONPerformer 1:vibraphonelarge suspended cymbal (22 preferred)

Small Ensemble Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.978194 Composed by Jason A. Heald. Contemporary. Score. 16 pages. Call of the Wild Publishing #6265333. Published by Call of the Wild Publishing (A0.978194). THREE LABE SONNETS for mezzo-soprano and piano is a collection of settings by Louise Labé, (1520-1566), a female French Renaissance poet. Labé was fluent in Latin and Italian, and a trained musician. She wrote twenty-four sonnets. TRANSLATION Sonnet VIII - I Live, I Die I live, I die, I burn with fire, I drown. It matters very little what I feel; All life is now too real, now too surreal; Joy comes and endless boredom weighs me down, And suddenly I laugh and then I cry; With grief and bliss I’m weeping for the past; Good feelings go away and yet they last, And suddenly I bleed and then I sigh. That’s how it goes. Strange, ever changing love Has worn me out. I wish I were removed From such a star-crossed fate! I need a truce With Lady Luck. Again and yet again, Her wheel is spinning madly to produce This wanton, wild, intense, exquisite pain. Sonnet XVIII - O Kiss Me O kiss me, kiss me, re-kiss me, and kiss! Be reckless, impudent, hot-headed, bold! O woo me! Pursue me! Kiss me like this: And I’ll give back fifty as hot as red coals. There, is it hurting? Come, let’s soothe the pain. I’ll give you sixty others just like these. And so we’ll kiss again and then again, While we enjoy each other at our ease. I know there’s fire within your unshaped clay, And so, allow me, love, to share my happiness: O let’s make burning passion rule today. I’m fond of doing what I love to do, Yet cannot feel supreme delight unless I have my other wild encounters, too. Sonnet XIV - As Long As Tears As long as tears can well up in my eyes I’m saddened that our nights are marked by pain. And now my voice expresses once again A plaintive melody I’ve improvised. As long as I can pluck the lute, I try To sing about your charms in my refrain. As long as I can think, my fevered brain Is burning with an ardent zeal. I cry And cry a hundred thousand times for you. But when I feel my whirling thoughts grow still, And when both hand and voice won’t work their will, Because your treachery is piercing through My heart, I’ll know there’s just one final way. I’ll ask for Death to darken that bleak day.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1477723 Composed by Aaron Robinson. 20th Century,Classical. Score. 55 pages. Music at Immanuel #1055103. Published by Music at Immanuel (A0.1477723). Dedicated to pianist Eric Xi Xin Liang, PIANO SONATA by American composer Aaron Robinson is a programmatic work on a monumental scale. Composed in four movements representing four areas of Maine: Machigonne (Portland), Down East, Malaga Island and Katahdin, each paints a detailed portrait of a specific time and place in the State’s history. Its compositional structure draws heavily on the sights and sounds associated with each region while weaving original themes throughout. Mimesis is used to represent the native calls of the indigenous birds found within the state, such as the phoebe, bobolink and the pileated woodpecker; while hymns, songs and sea shanties are incorporated to represent various time periods. Movement I - MACHIGONNE - Native Americans originally named what is today the Portland peninsula of Maine “Machigonne”, which translates “Great Neck”. The movement quotes several sacred and ritual songs of the Passamaquoddy Tribe of Maine. The struggle between centuries of habitation by the native peoples of the area is represented by the arrival of early settlers and illustrated by juxtaposing hymn tunes and dance music of the past eras.Movement II - DOWN EAST - is the eastern coastal area of the state closely associated with the French territory of Acadia. Replete with historic sea shanties and tunes, the sound of tolling ship and buoy bells, lighthouse fog horns, and ocean winds are intertwined to create a high-spirited journey which culminates in the familiar Shaker tune from Alfred, Maine.Movement III - MALAGA ISLAND - Today an uninhabited reserve, Malaga Island was once the home to an interracial community dating from the 1860s to 1911, when its residents were forcibly evicted by the State. The opening theme represents the remnants of the island in its present state; haunted by the memories and unsettling muted solitude of the past and its historical injustice. A peaceful hymn depicting simpler times becomes slowly unraveled, erupting in a traumatic chaos that is never resolved. A ghostly refrain can be heard in the distance as the movement concludes.Movement IV - KATAHDIN - Mount Katahdin (“Catahdrin”), called “Great Mountain” by the Penobscot Native Americans, is located within the Northeast Piscataquis County, the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. The grandeur of its majesty is portrayed by the original themes depicting epic rising and falling passages traversing over centuries. Native Americans believed the mountain to be the home of the storm god Pamola (a place to be avoided), which is characterized by ever-changing major and minor keys within the often times turbulent motifs. The sonata ends in a tonal key: bringing the atonality and discordant change of the work and its representation as a whole to a final resolve.PIANO SONATA lasts approximately 25 minutes.

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.869118 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Contemporary,Jazz,Latin. Score and parts. 16 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #1914305. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869118). Morango ... almost a tango (1983) is the most popular piece of music from my portfolio of over 150 works!!! It is amazing that the work was conceived thirty years ago!!! Originally, it was just a 32-bar jazz tune I performed every Sunday night with the Moon Unit at the 1369 Jazz Club in Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1980-1984. The string quartet version, although written for the Kronos Quartet, was premiered at Concert X by the Composers in Red Sneakers in Sanders Theater, Cambridge, Massachusetts, on July 21, 1983. The Red Sneakers String Quartet comprised of Thal Aylward, Melissa Howe, Frank Grimes and Sandy Kiefer. Richard Buell reported in the Boston Globe a few days later that the doleful Morango ... almost a tango got a lot of mileage out of a stubborn, almost unchanging cello line and the elaborations above it. The original program note read, Last summer in Vermont I met Gustavo Moretto, an Argentine composer, who taught me the finer and more beautiful aspects of the Tango. In my modest way, as someone looking in from the outside, I created Morango ... almost a tango - a bastardized version of the 'real thing.' Morango ... is also intrinsically connected to Kate Moran, a sometimes painter ... to whom it is dedicated. The work is played con sordino throughout. I hope the sirens next door don't intrude too much. But then again, John Cage would be delighted. Eventually, the Kronos got around to performing it on tour in Europe in 1986. When they played it as an encore in Italy at the American Academy in Rome, Mya Tannenbaum of the Corriere Della Sera wrote, Non sono mancati i bis. Un richiamo al sex appeal del vecchio tango da parte di un giovane «premio Roma», Tom Lee. Soon after, back in the States, the Kronos performed it at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York. John Rockwell wrote in the New York Times, ... a soulfully beautiful score by Thomas Oboe Lee. Three months later the Kronos recorded it on their Nonesuch CD, White Man Sleeps. Many other string quartets, both here and abroad, have since added the work to their repertory. The Lydian String Quartet, especially, have taken the work on their concert tours in the United States, Europe and the former Soviet Union. It appears on a CD recorded by the Lyds in Moscow on MCA Classics. As interest in the work grew, other ensembles have requested arrangements of Morango ... There are now three other versions of the work: one for big band jazz ensemble by Ken Schaphorst, another for string orchestra commissioned by Aram Gharabekian and Sinfonova, and the third for violin and piano commissioned by the Paul Chou-Paul Salerni Duo. Of the string orchestra version, Richard Dyer of the Boston Globe wrote, Lee's piece, Morango ... almost a tango, is a transcription of atmospheric and elegant music originally composed for string quartet; it is as sultry as Faith Domergue in a film noir, and it steams. Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1129326 By The Beatles. By Bobby Scott and Ric Marlow. Arranged by Timothy Stapay/Liberace. Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show,Pop,Rock. Score. 4 pages. Timothy Stapay #729825. Published by Timothy Stapay (A0.1129326). A Taste Of Honey is arranged as performed by piano artist, Liberace. For the first time; here is the Liberace version of this famous sixties classic song; arranged for piano solo! A Taste of Honey is a pop standard written by Bobby Scott and Ric Marlow. It was originally an instrumental track (or recurring theme) written for the 1960 Broadway version of the 1958 British play A Taste of Honey (which was also made into the film of the same name in 1961). Both the original and a later recording by Herb Alpert in 1965 earned the song four Grammy Awards. Barbra Streisand performed the song as part of her cabaret act during 1962, and recorded it in January 1963 for her debut album The Barbra Streisand Album, on Columbia, which won a Grammy for Album of the Year (1963). The Beatles performed Lenny Welch's adaptation as part of their repertoire in 1962, slightly changing the lyrics in the chorus. Because the instrumental version by Acker Bilk was popular in the United Kingdom at the time, the song was chosen to be recorded for their 1963 debut album, Please Please Me. A version from that time was released in 1977 on the album Live! at the Star-Club in Hamburg, Germany; 1962. In the US, this song first appeared on the Vee-Jay Records album Introducing... The Beatles. They also performed A Taste of Honey seven times for BBC radio shows.<.p> Władziu Valentino Liberace (May 16, 1919 – February 4, 1987) was an American pianist, singer, and actor. A child prodigy born in Wisconsin to parents of Italian and Polish origin, he enjoyed a career spanning four decades of concerts, recordings, television, motion pictures, and endorsements. At the height of his fame from the 1950s to 1970s, he was the highest-paid entertainer in the world

Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1152172 Composed by John Philip Sousa. Arranged by Wesley Besancon. 20th Century,March. Score and Parts. 62 pages. Wesley Besancon #752386. Published by Wesley Besancon (A0.1152172). Throughout Sousa’s career as a conductor, he often altered the performance of his marches without marking or changing the printed music. These alterations were designed for concert performances and included varying dynamics and omitting certain instruments on repeated strains to expand the range of the musical textures, as well as adding unscripted percussion accents for dramatic emphasis at key points in the music. Although Sousa never documented his performance techniques himself, several players who worked extensively with Sousa provided directions for his frequently performed marches, most notably cornetist Frank Simon. Sousa continued to conduct many of his earlier marches later in his career with these unique alterations, but he rarely returned to several of the marches composed between 1873 and 1880. Although no written confirmation exists for how Sousa might have performed these earliest compositions, select elements of his typical performance practices can also be applied to these marches. “Our Flirtation†is the earliest march for which Simon documented Sousa’s common adjustments in performance. The Complete Marches of John Philip Sousa appears in chronological order and is based on some of the earliest known sources for each composition. These newly edited full scores correct many mistakes and inconsistencies found in the parts of early publications; however, all remaining markings and the original scoring are preserved. Additionally, the alterations traditionally employed by the United States Marine Band in performance are incorporated throughout; either those specifically documented by Sousa’s musicians or changes modeled on the customary practices of “The March King.†Performance practices that deviate from the original printed indications are described below and appear in [brackets] in the score. In many instances these indications appear side-by-side with the original markings. An open diamond marked with an accent in the cymbal part indicates that the cymbal player should let that accent ring for an additional beat before rejoining the bass drum part. Second strain (m. 21-38): The dynamic should drop to piano first time through with piccolo, E-flat clarinet, cornets/trumpets, and trombones tacet first time. Additionally, all clarinets should play down one octave as indicated by the cued notes. All instruments rejoin fortissimo and at the original octave in the first ending. A percussion accent may be added in m. 29 the second time. The printed percussion figure in the first ending continues the previous pattern, yet muddies the pick-ups to the second strain and may be omitted for just that one bar as indicated after the downbeat. Trio (m. 39-54): Piccolo and cornets/trumpets are tacet once more as well as cymbals, but trombones have an interesting part in the texture and may continue to play softly here. All instruments rejoin for the fortissimo pick up notes in m. 54. Interlude/Break-up strain (m. 55-70): A percussion accent may be added on beat two in m. 62 and 70, both times, to match the accented chords in the rest of the band. Final strain (m. 71-end): The first time through this strain is piano once more and piccolo, cornets/trumpets, trombones, and cymbals are tacet again. First and second B-flat clarinets should also play one octave lower as indicated by the cued notes. All instruments rejoin in the first ending for the repeat of the break-up strain and play fortissimo to the end.

Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.986863 Composed by Ben Pritchard. Arranged by Ben Pritchard. 20th Century,Jazz,Latin,Rock. Score and parts. 19 pages. Benjamin Pritchard #5465. Published by Benjamin Pritchard (A0.986863). This piece was originally written for jazz ensemble and then arranged for concert band. This was done, in part, to make available concert band literature that utilizes jazz/rock instruments (guitar, bass, piano) and improvisation. There are many arrangements of rock and pop tunes available to band directors. While those arrangements sometimes include bass parts they rarely, if ever, have guitar or piano/keyboard parts. Why not? Why not include these parts, even if they are optional? In addition, I’ve noticed that there is very little concert band literature that involves improvisation. Again, why not? I believe that this is the concert band literature of the future – the integrated utilization of electric guitar, keyboards, and improvisation. This piece is my first attempt at such a venture. Having just finished the premier performance of the original jazz ensemble version of 7 to 9 I thought it would be a good platform. Most of 7 to 9 transitions between 7/4 and 9/4. It is a fun, quirky piece with a Latin feel. There is a short 5-bar swing section in the middle for open solos. There is also a one chord solo section later in the piece for less experienced improvisers. The students will really enjoy putting this together, especially with the electric guitar, piano, and bass. It adds a completely new dimension to the concert band as well as an overall excitement. The piece ends with a long building Latin groove with a jam feel to it. The guitarist ends this build with an improvised solo which soars above the rest of the band. It is a fun piece to play but requires a great deal of focus due to the changing meter and odd phrase lengths and entrances. There is only a midi recording available at this time. A live recording will be available soon.

Legislators and law makers have diminishing what defines hate crimes, if hate crimes deserve additional sentencing, taking away laws that would ensure and help to protect this minority population most vulnerable to being victims. And not just in the USA, but around the world LGBTQ+ persons , are being attacked , imprisoned, and even murdered everyday . IIn the USA, Even where as victims like myself are seriously harmed , and in the hospital , requiring surgery, permanently maimed , broken bones, etc. most criminal perpetrators get minimal sentencing , even probation . And as in my case, these criminals had have multiple other serious convictions of physical harm to others and even serious gun charges. Please make your voice heard, help protect yourself, or your family, friends, and loved ones by contacting law makers local and federal to let them know this is not ok, and laws need to be changed to protect every person . Brass Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.808700 Composed by Frank Loesser. Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. Contemporary. Score and parts. 16 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #5020113. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.808700). Brandon Thomas’ three-act farce, Charley’s Aunt, opened in London in 1892 and was a huge success. It has since been performed and adapted many times. One such adaptation was Where’s Charley? a 1948 Broadway version with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser. Ray Bolger played the starring role as Charley, and its most memorable number was the second act’s Once In Love With Amy. Every night Bolger would perform the number, then turn to the audience and invite them to sing along with him. They loved it, and Bolger would continue to perform it as his signature act for years even after the play closed. The rhythmic and melodic nature of Once In Love With Amy, particularly its chorus, seems to lend itself to performance by musical instruments in the lower registers. And that’s what inspired this arrangement in which bass tuba carries the load with strong support from euphonium and tuba. All play the eight-measure introduction, while the verse-I caught you, sir, having a look at her as she went strolling by-features euphonium and tuba playing melody while bass tuba provides tempo and pulse. Then comes the familiar chorus-Once in love with Amy, always in love with Amy-and bass tuba takes over. The first time through, bass tuba plays melody with the other two providing accompaniment; the second time, bass tuba plays an intricate counterpoint while euph and tuba do a rather smooth swing version of the melody. Then comes the surprise ending in which all three participate. Most players will have little trouble. The arrangement consists of 75 measures in 4/4 time. There are several tempo changes; the fastest is quarter note equals 108. Key signature is G, changing to F at measure 44. All notes for euphonium and bass tuba should be within normal playing range. Tuba, on the other hand, plays quite a few G and A notes at the top of the treble clef. Sweetwater Brass Press also offers a similar version of Once In Love With Amy arranged for brass quintet. This arrangement was completed in 2020, and performance time runs about 3 minutes, 1 second. The arranger, Les Smith, will be happy to provide substitute parts (for example, treble clef baritone for euphonium) at no charge; contact him directly at lessmith61@bellsouth.net. We are at the mercy of time and the changing seasons. Time is precisely what gives us perspective and helps us realize our reality is always evolving. Some changes are inevitable and we cannot do anything about them. They can be beautiful and fill our souls with joy and excitement or they can fill us with sorrow. But there are other types of changes which are fully up to us and that is what this song is about. There are times when we decide to make personal changes in order to go on a new journey and reimagine our heaven. A new heaven which will give us the strength and the courage to fight our fears and our demons. When we change our destiny and fight despite all setbacks, we become the warriors of our own battles.
