Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.881230 Composed by Gary Powell Nash. Contemporary. Score. 31 pages. Gary Powell Nash #36467. Published by Gary Powell Nash (A0.881230). Three Ivory Magnolia Fantasies (2003) for piano solo is a three movement work largely inspired by Dr. Gary Powell Nash’s experiences in Mississippi as Associate Professor of Music at Mississippi Valley State University. Movement one, titled Buddy’s Path is a result of the two main premises of the movement which include blues riffs of Buddy Guy and Beethoven’s Pathetique Sonata. Buddy’s Path begins with a slow introduction and transitions to faster music. After section 2, the slow intro music returns and once again transitions to section 1 material, alluding to the formal structure from Movement 1 of the Pathetique Sonata. Movement two, titled Dedication, a slow movement is also ternary, with A, B, cadenza and A’. It begins with cadenza-like passages, using 32 note rhythms and then moves to slower paced music, with longer note values, although actually marked at a slightly faster tempo. The B section continues the slow paced music and progresses to a Chopin-like cadenza, which closes the B section. The A’ section returns to the slower paced music with longer note values. Movement three, titled Fast Blues on the Wall is based on a blues tune titled On the Wall, an upbeat and fast tempo tune demonstrating the barrelhouse blues tradition. Using a ternary design, the A and A’ sections of Fast Blues on the Wall feature a doubled twelve bar blues-like progression where the corresponding phrases in a standard twelve bar blues progression are doubled in regards to measure length.

Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1475777 By Diana Mascari. By Diana Mascari. Arranged by Diana Mascari. 20th Century,21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Jazz. 126 pages. Diana Mascari Music #1053335. Published by Diana Mascari Music (A0.1475777). Three Sacred Songs was originally composed Flute, Tenor Voice, Cello and Piano. This version replaces the tenor voice with the clarinet so that it can be performed instrumentally. Please contact me if you would like to perform the vocal version. For this composition, I took the words from three traditional Protestant hymns and composed new settings for them. Needless to say, these pieces are not hymn tunes that would be sung by a congregation. However, the sacredness of the hymn texts has been preserved. The songs and corresponding movements are:I. I Sing the Mighty Power of GodII. All Things Bright and BeautifulIII. The Heavens Declare Your Glory, LordFor more information about this piece and/or Diana Mascari visit www.dianamascari.com.

Lazaros Delidemos #3531837. Published by Lazaros Delidemos (A0.931489). I wrote this piece (as I did with Three Friends Nr1 some time ago) for three of my students, in order for them to play it in a school concert. The Flute and Guitar students had studied their instruments for about 2 years, and the Violin student hadstudied for about 7 months. So the difficulties of the parts corresponded to what they could play by that time.

Children,Christian,Christmas,Renaissance,Sacred. 9 pages. Sharon Wilson #6137857. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.569877). This sheet music is notated for 13-note (one octave, C to C chromatic scale) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating an instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords. Included in this set of scores is a combined score with both instrument parts on a grand staff plus a separate score for each instrument. A note and chord reference chart is also provided. This set of scores uses colored noteheads corresponding to the Boomwhackers® color scheme. If you have a set of bells or tubes with a different color scheme, Chroma-Notes Stick Ons can be purchased and applied so the instruments match the Boomwhackers® color scheme. This set of scores is also available (separate purchase) in black and white which will print clearer if you do not have access to a color printer.Only filled noteheads (quarter notes) are used so the notes are full color and easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. Lyrics and chord names are provided as well to aid in the learning and teaching of this song. Though this sheet music is notated for Handbells and Boomwhackers®, this arrangement is playable by any 13-note, C to C chromatic scale (one octave) instrument such as a xylophone or glockenspiel (though the color coding may not match). This arrangement is one of the 10 songs in the collection Ten Christmas Carols for 13-note Bells and Boomwhackers.Other suggestions and uses: * have both parts played by bells or both parts played using only Boomwhackers®   * form a choir using multiple sets of bells and/or Boomwhackers® (this would amplify the sound and allow more people to participate)* use as part of the music education for children at school, home, or church* these colorful, inexpensive instruments can be enjoyed by all ages and add a fun, unique element to activities and programs: senior centers, family reunions, church retreats, home school groups, children's ministriesBoomwhackers® is a registered trademark of Rhythm Band Instrument, LLC. Would you like toplay the viola well, with a solid technique and impeccable intonation? We allknow that to do this you have to start from the beginning. That is, withscales. In this volume you can find them all, in three octaves and presented inan innovative, interesting and fun way. For the first time you can study themgrouped into parallel (or “homophone”) keys, which is what scales that begin inthe same tone are called (e.g. C major-C minor, B Major-B minor etc.). In thesame way, you will practice the corresponding arpeggios, also in three octaves, followed by scales on double stops (thirds, sixths and eighths). All of this, with specific fingering for the viola, and with a focus on original technicalsolutions, that make the study considerably easier. The benefits gained fromstudying the scales grouped in this way are enormous, and they ensure that youwill achieve an excellent intonation. Both ways (major and minor), share the same physical space on the Viola’sfingerboard; they also share four of the seven sounds of the scale, which makesvery easy to recognise the different ones. Another innovative technique is the intonationcontrol semibreve, located eitherbelow or above various sounds of the scale. Each semibreve highlights theneed to check the tuning of the sound that accompanies, with the open string thatit indicates, since this is practically the only possible way of verifying thetuning. To sum up, this book proposes an innovative method of studying scales,as a result of the author’s many years of orchestra and teachingexperience. Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1024060 Composed by John Dorhauer. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and Parts. 126 pages. John J Dorhauer #59173. Published by John J Dorhauer (A0.1024060). Back to School 2015 This standalone movement balances chaotic, breakneck ensemble writing with placid, luscious quieter moments. Inspired by the fifth chapter of the Book of Revelation, the music vividly depicts the duality of the lion/lamb character (hence the plurality of the title), and the ample use of mixed meter and solo opportunities (particularly for flute and percussion) will offer an engaging challenge to most high school ensembles. Although this is the middle movement of a three-movement work, it works in its own self-contained world. Contact information: johnjdorhauer@gmail.com PRO: ASCAP Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/JohnDorhauer?fref=ts / https://twitter.com/JohnDorhauer Duration: 9 minutes Year of Release: 2011 Program Notes: This composition is intended to function on two different levels: it is simultaneously a programmatic depiction of the events that unfold in Revelation 5 and a musical representation of the duality found in the scripture. It was this sense of duality that persuaded me to keep the s at the end of Revelation in the title – it is as if there are multiple revelations to be found within both the scripture and my musical interpretation of it. In the book of Revelation, the prophet John is sharing an apocalyptic vision to a group of churches in Asia as a means of hope – even though these people were being persecuted for their beliefs, John promises the rapture in which God will save the believers and destroy the nonbelievers. The fifth chapter begins with John’s ascension to heaven, and it concludes just before the Christ-like Lion of Judah breaks the seals of the scroll that will unleash the rapture. While this is intended to be a message of hope, it will also bring about cataclysmic death and destruction. Herein lies the duality – how can a message of hope come as the result of such a violent outcome? Movement II (of three) corresponds with only verse 6, and it is more of a character study than a programmatic narrative. It examines the Lion of Judah character, which is portrayed at first as an overwhelming and aggressive figure after it approaches from the distance in the hazy beginning section. This character is also depicted in the scripture as a lamb, though, and this is reflected in the piece’s latter half, which is a softer reimagining of the Lion character’s material. The Lion and the Lamb are not two different characters but, rather, different sides of the same character. It is this duality that drives the movement, and it explains the connections between these otherwise distinct sections. This movement was originally performed by the CCPA Wind Ensemble in April 2010 when it received first place in CCPA’s wind ensemble composition contest.

Guitar - Digital Download SKU: ZZ.DZ-4272 Composed by Mark Anthony Cruz. Score. 16 pages. Les Productions d'OZ - Digital #DZ 4272. Published by Les Productions d'OZ - Digital (ZZ.DZ-4272). In September of 2018, guitarist, Toby McWilliams commissioned Cruz to write a three-movement guitar solo after hearing his Five Pieces in C on the internationally syndicated radio show, Classical Guitar Alive. McWilliams requested the first movement to be in sonata-allegro form followed by two other pieces that reflect the tempo choices of a typical three-movement sonatina. As is the case with most of Cruz’s music, this Sonatina was completed as music written for music’s sake. However, in his quest to find titles other than tempo markings, Cruz plucked three words from the correspondence between himself and McWilliams that together, add a personal touch to the collection while suggesting a progression of an imaginary day’s events.A point of interest in the first movement, A theme: Cruz begins on the IV chord and intentionally avoids using a proper I chord throughout. While the B section does begin in the dominant key, it moves quickly towards a D major tonal center.Festival (3rd movement) uses a bitonal opening theme: E major in the top voice while the bass line uses E minor.

For the first time, we are able to offer theatres and interested opera-lovers vocal scores as urtext editions conceived following uniform editorial criteria: * The score corresponds to the performance materials from the Complete Edition. * For practical use in rehearsal and study, every vocal score includes rehearsal cues and bar numbers throughout. * The publisher has secured the services of renowned musicologists associated with the Richard Wagner Complete Edition who convey detailed information in critical forewords. * The forewords are given in three languages (German, English, French). * Uniform and attractive front cover designs with reproductions of paintings from the Wagner era underline the series design of the edition. TRISTAN UND ISOLDE Performance directions by the singer Ludwig Schnorr von Carolsfeld are incorporated in the vocal score from the Complete Edition’s Tristan und Isolde volume. He entered these directions into his own copy of the Tristan part which he used at the 1865 Munich premiere. Richard Wagner was deeply impressed by his interpretation of the title role. For the first time in a vocal score of Tristan und Isolde all cuts are incorporated—with the corresponding transitional bars—which Wagner himself made, and approved, in two cases, were actually declared by him to be final. These cuts strikingly document Wagner’s struggle with the final form of the work. For the first time in a single edition all of Wagner’s own suggestions for ossias are found; ossias which evolved from performances under his own direction. Egon Voss writes about this in his foreword to the vocal score: “Such ‘pointers’, as you might say, were current practice in the 19th century which Wagner, as the example shows, did not evade. He was enough of a practical man of the theatre to know that a badly sung top note is worse than doing without it. Wagner even tolerated the transposition of lengthier passages because he was less concerned with the letter of the score than with theatrical effectiveness. [...] The present vocal score goes beyond the Complete Edition [...] in that the ossias mentioned above are indicated in the vocal part itself, in small notes. They concern principally the role of Tristan, but also those of Isolde, Brangäne and Kurwenal. They rest in part on the Tristan edition within the Complete Edition but for the greater part go back to a source which could not be consulted for the Complete Edition because it was not yet accessible. This relates to a vocal score from the estate of the composer Peter Cornelius who was engaged by Wagner as repetiteur at the Vienna rehearsals in 1861-63. That the ossia bars go back to Wagner can be taken as certain, since in some places they are notated in his own hand.†(Egon Voss, quoted from the foreword to the vocal score) The transpositions mentioned by Egon Voss—two by Hans von Bülow for the revival of the work which he conducted in Munich in 1869 and the third suggested by Wagner himself in 1861—are printed in the appendix to the vocal score. The ossias, transpositions, and cuts are available for practical use in the theatre and in rehearsal. The cuts are also incorporated into the orchestral materials for Tristan und Isolde. This is also the case with ossias which affect the orchestral parts.2013 marks Wagner’s bicentenary, making the year largely focused on his music, particularly the dramatic works. An important addition to the newly produced orchestral materials by Schott Music. The score corresponds to the performance materials from the Complete Edition. Schott Music have secured the services of renowned musicologists associated with the Richard Wagner Complete Edition who convey detailed information in critical forewords. For the first time, this work is available to theatres and interested opera-lovers as urtext editions. For practical use in rehearsal and study, every vocal score includes rehearsal cues and bar numbers throughout. The forewords are given in three languages (German, English, and French). Other vocal scores available: Der fliegende Holländer (1841) Der fliegende Holländer (1842-80) Tannhäuser Lohengrin Das Rheingold Die Walküre Siegfried Götterdämmerung Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg Parsifal.

DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER (Original version) With this edition, the original version of Wagner’s opera Der fliegende Holländer [The flying Dutchman] WWV 63 is made available to the public for the first time in piano score form. The score on which the edition is based was published in the Richard Wagner-Complete Edition 1983: Richard Wagner. Collected works Vol. 4, I-II, The Flying Dutchman. Romantic opera in three acts (original version 1841), edited by Isolde Vetter (Schott Music International, Mainz, RWA 104-10/RWA 104-20).†(Egon Voss, quoted from the foreword of the new Der fliegende Holländer vocal score) Original version and 1842-1880 version The original version of Der fliegende Holländer dates from 1841. Wagner, at the time a completely unknown Kapellmeister in France, trying to get a foothold in Paris, saw the opportunity for a stage work that would meet the fashion at the Paris Opera of performing several short works one after another. Der fliegende Holländer, conceived in 1840 and composed in 1841, seemed to him suited to the purpose. In 1841, even when Wagner no longer counted on a success in Paris, he still held to the conception of a one-act opera and offered the work to German opera houses under the title of “Romantic Opera in One Act and Three Scenesâ€. This version is set in Scotland, taking as the literary model for the opera Heinrich Heine’s novel fragment “From the Memoirs of Mr. Schnabelewopskiâ€, and the protagonists have English names. This version was never performed in Wagner’s lifetime. Beginning in 1842, the work went through a tale of constant revision: Even before the Dresden premiere (2nd January 1843) Wagner undertook fundamental alterations. He transposed the location from Scotland to Norway, changed character’s names as appropriate, divided the opera into three acts – not least due to considerations of scene changes – and transposed Senta’s Ballad from A minor to G minor. It was in this version that the score of the opera went to print in 1845. For a performance in 1860 he composed the later so-called ‘Tristan’ or ‘Redemption’ ending to the Overture. Until the very end of his life, Wagner contemplated a plan for a final score or a definitive vocal score: it never came to be, so that to this day, as with Tannhäuser, we still do not have Der fliegende Holländer in a final version. Based on the research conducted in the creation of the Complete Edition, our editions contain, in one case the original version of 1841, while the other essentially goes back to the first printing of the score of 1845, but with the addition of the source material for the retouchings dating from 1842 to 1889. VOCAL SCORES The original version of the opera was made available for the first time in a vocal score in 2005 (ED 8065). The completely revised new edition of the vocal score of the 1842-1880 version appeared in 2011 (ED 20531).Les opéras de Richard Wagner paraissent pour la première fois sous forme de piano-chant chez Schott en version originale. DER FLIEGENDE HOLLÄNDER (1842-1880 version) This piano reduction is based on the edition of Der fliegende Holländer from the Critical Complete Edition of Richard Wagner’s works (Richard Wagner, Sämtliche Werke [Collected works], Vol. 4, III-VI, edited by Egon Voss, Mainz, 2000f.) The primary source for this edition was the first print of the score dating from 1845 which had however been augmented utilising the sources of additions undertaken after 1845, meaning that this edition is actually a compilation of the final versions of all individual sections or relevant details. The overture for example dates back to 1860 whereas No. 1 appears in the version from 1864. What is however most significant is that the versions from the Collected Editions based on new sources is without doubt closer to the original than the score from 1897 edited by Felix Weingartner which had previously formed the basis for all editions and logically also for all performances.†(Egon Voss, quoted from the foreword of the new Der fliegende Holländer vocal score) Original version and 1842-1880 version The original version of Der fliegende Holländer dates from 1841. Machaut: Rondeau No. 13 - Dame, Se Vous N'Avez for Trombone Trio
3 Trombones (trio)
Trombone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1349294 Composed by Guillaume de Mach…
(+)
Trombone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1349294 Composed by Guillaume de Machaut. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Contest,Early Music,Festival,Historic,Medieval. 6 pages. Jmsgu3 #934043. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1349294). Guillaume de Machaut's Rondeau No. 13, Dame, Se Vous N'Avez, is a significant work that forms part of his extensive and influential musical output. Machaut, a pinnacle genius of Western music in the Middle Ages, is renowned for his mastery of polyphony and ability to unite melodic and rhythmic elements in his compositions. The rondeau is one of three thirteen-line rondeau poems that Machaut set to music, showcasing his skill in shaping melodic nuances and conceiving forms on a larger scale. The piece is part of Machaut's French songs, which dominated the fourteenth century in terms of quality and volume, further emphasizing its importance in his repertoire. Machaut's work, including Dame, Se Vous N'avez, has been the subject of scholarly analysis and musical appreciation, underscoring its historical and musical significance.Guillaume de Machaut's Rondeau No. 13 lyrics, Dame, Se Vous N'Avez, express genuine love and devotion. The speaker professes love without deception and invites the lady to test the sincerity of his affection, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to her. The lyrics convey a sense of loyalty and constancy in love, reflecting the themes of courtly love and chivalry prevalent in medieval poetry and music. The poem's emotional depth and romantic expression contribute to its significance as a representative example of medieval lyrical tradition and Machaut's poetic and musical prowess. The musical structure of Guillaume de Machaut's Rondeau No. 13, Dame, Se Vous N'Avez, follows the typical form of a two-part composition, as is common in the musical rondeau. The rondeau is a form of medieval and Renaissance French poetry and a corresponding musical chanson form, typically structured around a fixed pattern of repetition of verse with a refrain. The case of Dame, Se Vous N'Avez is one of three thirteen-line rondeau poems that Machaut set to music, and this form inevitably weights the first part over the second, which is significant for the parodic relationship between the two. The musical setting of the rondeau involves a specific pattern of repetition and refrain, contributing to its characteristic structure within the genre of medieval and Renaissance French music.

Bells,Boomwhackers,Glockenspiel,Handbell,Handchime,Orff Instrument,Ukulele,Voice,Xylophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.564999 By Sharon Wilson. By traditional Sicilian melody. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Christmas,Instructional,Multicultural,Sacred,Standards,World. 11 pages. Sharon Wilson #3099023. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.564999). This arrangement is one of the 10 songs in the collection Ten Christmas Carols for 8-note Bells and Boomwhackers. This arrangement of the traditional Sicilian melody known as Sicilian Mariners Hymn or O Sanctissima is notated for 8-note, C major diatonic scale (one octave) instruments with Handbells on one staff and Boomwhackers® on a second staff creating a 2-part instrumental ensemble (requires one set of each instrument). Handbells play the melody while the Boomwhackers® keep a steady beat with three-note chords. Included in this set of scores is a combined score with both instrument parts on a grand staff plus a separate score for each instrument. A note and chord reference chart is also provided. This arrangement includes two verses. The first verse is easy with fewer notes. The second verse is intermediate and expands the melody by adding more notes. If you want to learn (practice) only the easy verse, an optional ending is provided or it can be skipped to perform the two verses together. This set of scores uses colored noteheads corresponding to the Boomwhackers® color scheme. If you have a set of bells or tubes with a different color scheme, Chroma-Notes Stick Ons can be purchased and applied so the instruments match the Boomwhackers® color scheme. This set of scores is also available (separate purchase) in black and white which will print clearer if you do not have access to a color printer.Only filled noteheads (quarter and eighth notes) are used so the notes are full color and easier to see (this does not indicate the bells need to be silenced immediately before the next beat). Also, only quarter rests are used to help visualize the number of beats per measure. Lyrics and chord names are provided as well to aid in the learning and teaching of this song. The number of ringers and whackers needed will vary depending on the skill level of the participants. For more advanced players, each person could be assigned two or three notes. For beginners, it is best to assign one or two notes to each person. Instrument assignment suggestions are provided for 8 and 15 players.
