A turbulent organ work depicting a vision Judas Iscariot had after betraying Jesus Christ. According to the Gospel of Judas, the latter's vision was of the disciples stoning and persecuting him. This is apparent in the extended section of violence, with its darting harmonies and virtuoso writing. A long moment of calm leads to more turmoil and Judas' eventual hanging (suicide); the final descending pedal notes depict his fall against the noose. The opening scherzo-like passage signifies Judas' initial craftiness at betraying Jesus. This quickly leads to feelings of regret and then dread - portrayed in the darkening music. This piece would be a great concert piece for high school and collegiate level ensembles.Sigh was born out of the pain and turmoil of witnessing and experiencing the daily racism and systemic discrimination of minority groups in this world and in the United States. Sometimes it is difficult to express the intense trauma that comes with being a minority, and Sigh follows the journey of an individual holding in their feelings to a point where those feelings can no longer be contained. During the birth of this piece, stories of black deaths were nearly unavoidable and took a heavy toll on the black community. Sigh is a representation of the release that the community so desperately needs. It is important to note that this piece is driven by the hardships of racial minorities, thus it is preferred that the soloist be a person of color to better reflect the purpose of this piece.

Even though the musical example is a MIDI it was blessed by our Dear Lord in that this recording is, in the opinion of the composer, better than most MIDI renditions. In this world of uncertainty and turmoil this is meant to comfort the listener on its own, or be background to appropriate scripture reading and in general musically bless whomever hears this to get closer to the Lord and Savior and know that prayers are always answered, not necessarily in our time but in His time. I personally have been blessed and through this composition am trying to share my feelings of comfort and gratitude. This composition is not limited to Church orchestras per se, but to any group of musicians who love the Lord and want to share with all listeners the spirit of comfort and gratitude. The PDF downloaded has the score and all parts. The picture on the title page is of the beautiful mountains of North Carolina.
