Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1101929 By Meghan Trainor. By Kevin Kadish and Meghan Trainor. Arranged by Leanne Johnson. A Cappella,Comedy,Contemporary,Country,Pop. Octavo. 7 pages. Blokes Notes Music Director #705316. Published by Blokes Notes Music Director (A0.1101929). This TTBB acapella rendition has fun with the tenors envy of the basses Let's bring the treble back, and lower voices respond We've tried to tell them that they're just too high, also has an optional percussive beat. 6 pages. Difficulty: mostly Medium. The range for this piece has a few extreme options . If you have any tenors who happily sing falsetto theres a C5 moment, or any bass who can manage a low C thats how the piece would impressively end. Rest of piece is normal range. Youtube link is in the similar fun spirit, though not replica. All arrangements have been successfully performed by Blokes Notes a non-auditioned community mens choir in Port Macquarie Australia .

SATB choir divisi and organ, with optional string quintet - Medium - Digital Download SKU: MQ.50-0074-E Composed by Charles S. Thatcher. Advent, Easter, Triduum/Three Days. Instrument parts. 15 pages. MorningStar Music Publishers - Digital Sheet Music #50-0074-E. Published by MorningStar Music Publishers - Digital Sheet Music (MQ.50-0074-E). English, German, Latin. The poem Mary the Dawn, while simple in its form, explores rich poetic images of the relationship between Christ and his mother. Charles Thatcher's charming, gentle tune is an apt vehicle for the words. Each stanza is followed by an interlude—a traditional hymn reflecting a key moment in salvation history (Birth, Passion, and Resurrection). Taken as a whole, this celebration of Mary is fitting for liturgy or concert and is also successful when one or more of the interludes are omitted. Parts for string quintet are optional but add to the warmth of the piece. The choral writing is satisfying, with some divisi parts; the interlude hymns are presented in their original language as well as English.

Piano Accompaniment, Dan CutchenTime: approximately 6:00And Can It Be That I Should Gain? is a Christian hymn written by Charles Wesley. And Can It Be was written in 1738 to celebrate Wesley's conversion, which he regarded as having taken place on May 21 of that year. This beautiful hymn has been popular and enduring. And Can It Be That I Should Gain is perhaps one of the most joyfully poignant hymns penned by Charles Wesley (1707-1788). On Whitsunday (Pentecost), May 21, 1738, three days before his brother John experienced his heart strangely warmed,’ Charles was convalescing in the home of John Bray, a poor mechanic, when he heard a voice saying, In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, arise, and believe, and thou shalt be healed of all thy infirmities. The voice was most likely Mr. Bray’s sister who felt commanded to say these words in a dream.Anglican hymn writer Timothy Dudley-Smith, notes that the following then happened:Charles got out of bed and opening his Bible read from the Psalms: He have put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God, followed by the first verse of Isaiah 40, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. He wrote in his journal, I have found myself at peace with God, and rejoiced in the hope of love Christ (Dudley-Smith, 1987, 1).The statement from Mr. Bray’s sister sparked within Charles a conviction like he had never felt before. Moved and convicted in spirit, Charles wrestled with these words until he came to rest in his faith, knowing that it is by faith we are saved (Ephesians 2:8).Soon after this conversion experience, he wrote two hymns in celebration of the amazing love he had come to know: And Can It Be that I Should Gain and Where Shall My Wondering Soul Begin? (United Methodist Hymnal, 342)There has been some debate as to which hymn was written first, but most current scholarship accepts the latter as the first hymn written by Charles after his conversion experience. No matter its place in the chronology of Wesley's output, And Can It Be has been and remains one of his most remarkable hymns, expressing like no other the rapturous joy of receiving salvation. And Can It Be That I Should Gain. Three Latin Elegies to Lesbia

Choir, SATB - Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Mark D. Templeton. 21st Century, Contemporary Classical, Modern, Neo-Classical. Sheet Music Single. 20 pages. Published by Mark Templeton Choral Music
Three LatinElegies to Lesbiais a setting of three poems written by the ancient Roman poet, Gaius ValeriusCatullus (84-54 B.C.E.). His muse in these poems is understood to beLesbia, the name believed to have been given by Catullus to his mistress.Lesbia was really Clodia, the sexually promiscuous wife of proconsul QuintusCaecilius Metellus Celer. Clodia was said to have many lovers, and Catullus’torment and obsession for her is well documented in 13 of his poems where thename, Lesbia, is used. His first poem addressed to Lesbia (Catullus 51) is a freetranslation of a poem by the ancient Greek poet, Sappho. Scholars havesuggested that Catullus chose the name, Lesbia, because of his affinity forSappho, who it is believed was a lesbian.<br> <br> Odie et Amo (Catullus 85), one of the mostcelebrated elegiac couplets composed by Catullus, has inspired many composers withits duality of emotions. The most well-known setting is from Carl Orff’s Catulli Carmina, part of Trionfi, themusical triptych that also includes the Carmina Burana andTrionfo di Afrodite. Unlike Orff’s driving rhythms of outwardlyexpressive anguish, my setting is a more introspective interpretation. It is asif the music is surrendering to the mercurial personalities that Catullus andall humans possess, the tortured ability to hate and love at the same time.<br> <br> Lesbia mi dicit semper male (Catullus 92) consists of two elegiaccouplets. Catullus’ earlier poem, 83,brings some context to 92. In thefirst part of 83, Catullus says:<br> <br> Lesbia keeps insulting me in front of her husband:<br> <br> thisfills the fatuous idiot with delight.<br> <br> Mule, doyou perceive nothing? If she shut up and ignored me<br> <br> that’dshow healthy indifference;…<br> <br> In 92, Catullus expounds on the idea of whyLesbia insults him in front of her husband. Catullus reckons that he is alwayscursing her, and he loves her. She always curses him, so she must love him aswell. In his desperation, Catullus uses his wit and humor to reason that hisobsessive love for Lesbia is reciprocated. This setting of 92 uses incessant driving rhythms in the women’s voices to paint thewords, “Lesbia mi dicit semper male nec tacetumquam de me” (Lesbia always speaks ill of me, never shuts up about me). The repeating rhythmsreturn in the men’s voices when Catullus says he does the same, “quia sunt totidem mea: deprecor illamassidue” (…it’s the same with me: I’m continually complaining.) The piececomes to a final rest after Catullus realizes the he will always be cursed tolove her.<br> <br> Mea Lesbia (Catullus 87) also consists of twoelegiac couplets. Catullus was only one of Lesbia’s many lovers, and he oftenwrote of his jealousy and disdain for her unfaithful actions. This elegy waswritten at a time when Lesbia had been particularly cruel toward Catullus.Despite being broken hearted, his obsession with her never waned. In hisdespair and desperation, he basically says, “My love for you is so great thatno other woman could possibly even know what love is.” This setting of 87 returns to a more introspectivenature where Catullus surrenders his love forever to Lesbia.

A Hymn of Beginnings

Piano Accompaniment, Bassoon - Intermediate - Digital Download Composed by Traditional Gaelic Melody. Arranged by Robert Myers. Contemporary Classical, Sacred, General Worship, Christmas, Easter. Score, Solo Part. 11 pages. Published by WheatMyer Music
The tune BUNESSAN is a traditional Gaelic melody firstprinted in 1888 as the setting of Mary MacDonald's carol "Child in theManger." The tune was named after Mary's birthplace on the Isle of Mulloff Scotland's western coast. BUNESSAN is commonly associated with hymnscelebrating new beginnings: the aforementioned "Child in the Manger,"then the 1931 creation-celebrating hymn "Morning Has Broken," and themore recent but lesser-known 1982 hymn “Baptized in Water.” The title of this piece, “A Hymn of Beginnings,”recognizes that association.<br> <br> Sacred bassoon solos aren’t common and those that exist tendto be quite pedestrian. With a new bassoonist in our church orchestra whosetalents go well beyond the pedestrian it seemed opportune to try something newand thus, “A Hymn of Beginnings” took shape. The music has a conventional feelbut with a palpable dash of the unfamiliar, achieved through subdued bi-tonalcoloring, matching the major-key melody with a minor-key harmonization thatmoves by descending thirds. Still, it remains quite accessible to the casuallistener with its familiar melody and obvious tonality.<br> <br> “A Hymn of Beginnings” is suitable for intermediate leveland above musicians and works well at any time of the church year with itscontemplative yet varied moods. Its association with new beginnings makes itparticularly suited to Christmas, Easter, baptismal services, weddings, andothers.<br> <br> Find more music at https://wheatmyermusic.com/portfolio/ and my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/WheatMyerMusic

Full Orchestra - Advanced Intermediate - Digital Download By John Barry. Arranged by Gregory John Harper. Score, Set of Parts. 56 pages. Published by Gregory Harper
Programme notes: Although John Barry had written 50% of the original 'James Bond' theme for 1962's Dr. No (and orchestrated the whole thing), he felt the need to create a new piecefor 007's second on-screen outing that was entirely his own. Using Elmer Bernstein's'Magnificent Seven' theme as inspiration, he crafted a tune that was full of adventure and awe. Although the '007' theme presented here was not adopted by the cinema-goers as the definitive Bond music, it demonstrates Barry's ability to orchestrate and compose in the style of the classic 40s & 50s Hollywood pictures. The theme has been used in several Bondmovies since - mainly as a secondary theme for scenes that wish to depict Bond's heroism more than his swagger and charisma.<br> <br> Conductor's Notes: When the strings take the melody at 'D', they should 'soar'! While the piece lacks melodic or harmonic development, it does show off each section of the orchestra.Make sure all dynamic markings are strictly adhered to as the melody may get overpowered otherwise. The lead trumpet part is a transcription of Derek Watkins' original performance and is very high in places. In the event of having no harpist, the glissandos may be played on a transposed electronic keyboard so thatthe white notes are tuned to a E Major scale (transpose up a major 3rd). The rest of the harp part should be played on a non-transposed keyboard. The piece should fade out to nothing so make sure all eyes areon the conductor as they will need to guide each player through the dynamic changes from 'G' onwards.
