Flute quartet - Digital Download SKU: IZ.IMF187 Composed by Daniel Baldwin. Score and Parts. 24 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #IMF187. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.IMF187). 9 x 12 in inches.Centuries ago, the elements (earth, water, wind, fire) were proposed to explain the nature and complexity of all matter. It was believe that all of existence sprang from these elements. This quartet in four movements is a music depiction of this philosophical idea long since rejected by modern science.Of Wind and Wings begins with rapid-fire rhythmic chord progressions that lead into a kaleidoscope of colors. Each part is featured at some point. Of Wind and Wings portrays the beauty of what it must be like to soar across the skies and feel the wind beneath your wings.Within the Flame is a soulful representation of the fire element. After an opening chorale depicting a look into a small, calm flame, the movement takes off with the flames reaching ever higher and higher. The movement ends as it began, with a calm, soulful chorale. In the Waters Shimmering looks directly into the shimmering reflection of the sunlight in water. A beautiful lyrical theme is passed around the quartet surrounded by various chorales and duets. One last lovely chorale moment brings the movement to its conclusion. To the Land Beyond, a depiction of the earth element, is full of sparking flourishes and rhythmic interest. This movement is a joyous celebration of nature, life, and all its beauty.Originally written as four individual pieces, but always intended to be a set, The Elements can be performed as individual movements or can be performed as a full four movement presentation.

Small Ensemble High Voice,Oboe,Piano Accompaniment - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.981218 Composed by Judith Cloud. Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 17 pages. Judith Cloud #6689693. Published by Judith Cloud (A0.981218). Composer’s Notes In my parents' library there was an assortment of very old books that I used to leaf through while home for holidays. One of these, The Ladies' Wreath, was of special interest. The inscription inside the front cover read To Miss Sophia Venable by her friend William M. Duphuy, April 25, 1850. Within the collection of romantic short stories and poems was The Poet's Pen from the Greek didactic poet Menecrates. Here was something very different from the overly sentimental offerings in most of the volume. I imagined the solitary lady reading this would feel most exhilarated and even empowered. Ideas for setting the poem came almost immediately, with the oboe as a key figure. Having experimented with a choral setting, I settled on tenor, oboe and piano and in 1989 the piece was completed. I revised The Poet’s Pen in 2016. The Poet's Pen I was a useless reed; no cluster hungMy brow with purple grapes; no blossom flungThe coronet of crimson on my stem;No apple blushed upon me, nor (the gemof flowers) the violet strewed the yellow heathAround my feet; nor jessamine's sweet wreathRobed me in silver: day and night I pinedOn the lone moor, and shivered in the wind.At length a poet found me. From my sideHe smoothed the pale and withered leaves, and dyedMy lips in Helicon. From that high hour,I spoke! my words were flame and living power! All the wide wonders of the earth were mine;Far as the surges roll, or sunbeams's shine;Deep as earth's bosom hides the emerald;High as the hills with thunder-clouds are palled; And there was sweetness round me, that the dewHad never wet so sweet on violets blue.To me the mighty scepter was a wand; The roar of nations pealed at my command. To me the dungeon, sword, and scourge were vain,I smote the smiter, and I broke the chain;Or, towering o'er them all, without a plumeI pierced the purple air, the tempest's gloom,Till blazed th'Olympian glories on my eye,Stars, temples, thrones and gods--infinity. Menecrates of Ephesus (330-270 BC)

Cello Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596426 Composed by Daniel Hay. Classical,Contemporary,Multicultural,World. Individual part. 1 pages. Daniel Hay Music #5741937. Published by Daniel Hay Music (A0.596426). When composing this solo piece the composer, Daniel Hay was thinking of massive troll-like creatures ponderously stomping around a bonfire. Perhaps the image is better if you think of drunk sumo fighters dancing around rising flames. Most of the time when the composer uses repeats he labels them with an uppercase letter to identify them, followed by a hyphen and a lowercase letter showing where the repeat leads. Occasionally, as in The Dance of the Stone Trolls, there is also a lowercase letter within parentheses which is used to indicate an optional location to repeat from either at the first pass or possible as a second pass. The attached YouTube link is performed on Tenor Recorder by the composer during a rehearsal. The sound file here is presented in Cello voice. Looking forward to hearing a Trombone play this.

For a piano background Mp3 track, search for: Alto Sax - And Can It Be? Theme and Variations-Accompaniment Track, Dan CutchenTime: approximately 6:00And Can It Be That I Should Gain? is a Christian hymn written by Charles Wesley. And Can It Be was written in 1738 to celebrate Wesley's conversion, which he regarded as having taken place on May 21 of that year. This beautiful hymn has been popular and enduring. And Can It Be That I Should Gain is perhaps one of the most joyfully poignant hymns penned by Charles Wesley (1707-1788). On Whitsunday (Pentecost), May 21, 1738, three days before his brother John experienced his heart strangely warmed,’ Charles was convalescing in the home of John Bray, a poor mechanic, when he heard a voice saying, In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, arise, and believe, and thou shalt be healed of all thy infirmities. The voice was most likely Mr. Bray’s sister who felt commanded to say these words in a dream.Anglican hymn writer Timothy Dudley-Smith, notes that the following then happened:Charles got out of bed and opening his Bible read from the Psalms: He have put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God, followed by the first verse of Isaiah 40, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. He wrote in his journal, I have found myself at peace with God, and rejoiced in the hope of love Christ (Dudley-Smith, 1987, 1).The statement from Mr. Bray’s sister sparked within Charles a conviction like he had never felt before. Moved and convicted in spirit, Charles wrestled with these words until he came to rest in his faith, knowing that it is by faith we are saved (Ephesians 2:8).Soon after this conversion experience, he wrote two hymns in celebration of the amazing love he had come to know: And Can It Be that I Should Gain and Where Shall My Wondering Soul Begin? (United Methodist Hymnal, 342)There has been some debate as to which hymn was written first, but most current scholarship accepts the latter as the first hymn written by Charles after his conversion experience. No matter its place in the chronology of Wesley's output, And Can It Be has been and remains one of his most remarkable hymns, expressing like no other the rapturous joy of receiving salvation. And Can It Be That I Should Gain. Strings Clarinet,Glockenspiel,Harp,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1420568 By Dmitry Klevansky. By Galina Vasilevskaya. Arranged by Stefan Kristinkov. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary. 52 pages. Heemrec #1002001. Published by Heemrec (A0.1420568). Romance “Проводник (Conductor)†explores themes of cyclicity, immortality of a soul, and realization that without true love, everything else is meaningless. The eternal wandering of a soul does not necessarily mean running in circles, but rather reaching new levels in awareness of love. Love kindles a flame in the hearts, “bringing it out of the shadowsâ€, beyond the boundaries of time and space. This is why we feel alive and gain a sense of lightness. The vibration of truth helps us awaken love within. It is not limited to what you look like, who you are, where you are, or who you are with. The chorus begins with “I know...â€, implying inner knowledge, revealing that everything in this world is not accidental, especially meetings. Some people are perceived as kindred spirits by us, and meeting them can be either inspiring or frustrating, depending on your willingness to acknowledge your own mirrored qualities. The flame of love, originally given to humanity by God, called to lead like a beacon among the darkness and winds.Unfinished sketches of the romance were found by Galina Vasilevskaya in papers, left behind by her father, a well known composer, after his passing. With the help of her friends, Galina was able to finish the song. The deep and thoughtful poetic text, written by Aleksandr Popov Mikhaylov seamlessly matches the overall idea expressed in music, elevating the song to a level of a rare aesthetic enjoyment. Expressive arrangement by Stefan Kristinkov masterfully paints the profound ideas of the song, leaving a listener with a sense of peace and integrity.Composer: Galina VasilevskayaLyricist: Aleksandr Popov Mikhaylov Arranger/Orchestrator: Stefan Kristinkov Listen Here

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1294831 By Cheryl Prazak. By Lyrics: Cheryl Prazak and music: Oscar Ahnfelt. Arranged by Jon Burr. Christian,Country,Praise & Worship. Score. 8 pages. Cheryl Prazak #885157. Published by Cheryl Prazak (A0.1294831). “Cast your bread upon the waters†- Ecclesiastes 11:1Lyricist Cheryl Prazak blends eclectic and nostalgic lyric themes with lively renditions of traditional tunes in her new release “Hearts Aflame.â€Working with arranger/producer Jon Burr of arrangerforhire.com, and the wonderful vocalist Sammie Jane, these tracks were created for your enjoyment in the celebration of Christ. The album title and song Hearts Aflame were inspired by the 2023 Asbury Revival at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky.Footprints In The GardenOn the path were footprints in the garden, whose they were, I could not find a sign.Thinking I was alone in the garden, I supposed the footprints to be mine.I could not hear your sweet voice pleading, summoning me from a world somewhere. You were in the garden interceding, but I didn’t remember that You care. I could not hear your kind voice calling, lost was I in a world of despair. On my heavy heart your voice was falling, I had long forgotten You were there. Now I hear your voice gently whispering, falling softly as the morning dew.I can feel your loving touch refreshing, bidding me to start my life anew. All the time You were there in the garden, giving me your love and strength sublime.I thought I was alone in the garden; wondrously, You were there all the time. But now your gentle voice I am hearing, breaking through the din and through the fray.Yours the voice of my kind Master speaking, in the garden from which I did stray.Like roses lost within a labyrinth, still fragrantly blossom in the rain.In the garden now two sets of footprints, that is where my roses bloom again. That is where my roses bloom again.

Solo Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1165227 By Judy Garland. By E.Y. Yip Harburg and Harold Arlen. Arranged by Richard Hirsch. 20th Century,Broadway,Multicultural,Musical/Show,Standards,World. Individual part. 7 pages. Richard Hirsch #765578. Published by Richard Hirsch (A0.1165227). With inspiration in Isreal Kamakawiwo’ole’s Somewhere Over the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World mashup, I offer an arrangement of the song Over the Rainbow for solo acoustic guitar. In my childhood The Wizard of Oz was one of my favourite fairy tales, especially as I spent a few of my early years in the little town of Winfield Kansas where tornadoes were a constant threat. I still remember huddling in the cellar with my mother and little brother when a tornado warning had been broadcast. With this in mind, the first part of the arrangement is meant to resemble a whirlwind that takes us up to the dreamland of Oz portrayed in the slower second part. In the third part, we come back down to waking reality in another mirror image whirlwind. The arrangement has an afro-flamenco character with two tiers of rhythm. Tier one is the normal 4/4 rhythm with accents at 1 and 3. Tier two consists of accents falling on beats 2 and 2& and 3& of the 4 beat measures. Tier two can be highlighted by clapping or tapping with a table knife on a bottle at beats 2 and 2& and 3&, with the strongest accent on 3& (an upbeat). The piece ends with a chord of natural harmonics on the 3& upbeat. The natural harmonics in the rhythmic fingerpicking resembling a kalimba (thumb harp) add an African touch to the piece. The piece is within reach of advanced intermediate students of fingerstyle or classical acoustic guitar. Besides the polyrhythmic fingerpicking, in the second dreamland part the piece offers the opportunity to play a broken chord of right hand harmonics, usually a real hit with listening audiences. I give suggestions for left and right hand fingering where I think necessary. The suggested tempo is presto for the fast first and third parts, but they could be played even faster for dramatic effect. The slow dreamland second part should be played with the melody floating lazily over the beat. The piece is a good follow up to my arrangements, also available at SheetMusicDirect and SheetMusicPlus of Freight Train and What a Wonderful World that use the same fingerpicking techniques.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1200922 By Bradley Sowash. By Bradley Sowash. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Jazz. Score. 11 pages. Bradley Sowash #799582. Published by Bradley Sowash (A0.1200922). Great for encores! Unison hands setup up the the spark with bits of  counterpoint and harmony dropping in to push the flame higher until it takes off in a fury of flame. Zooming out to a milder, wider perspective (think distant grass fire) the music next recedes to a comforting (if still hotly busy) fireplace. But before complacency set ins, the real fireworks start with a virtuosic but very playable conclusion ending in a furious burst. Composer’s comments:Fire is part of the Elements Suite and recording created during a visit to the Pacific Northwest, where the natural world exhibits an unusual intensity and the elements are quite prominently display. With this music I hope to capture the contrasts between the four elements as well as the dual natures within each of them.  Water, for example, is both a source of life and potentially dangerous.  Air is both breath and wind.  Fire comforts or burns.  Only Earth seemed to me continuous and dependable.
