This song was originally used by Zhang Ye when Zhang Xia and Zhang Yuanqi were kicked out of the setlist for Central TV's Spring Festival Gala for being old. It was then performed by Zhang Xia and Zhang Yuanqi as a duet for the Spring Festival Gala that night. Later, Zhang Yuanqi and Zhang Xia both released their own versions of the song. This is a Concert band version, which is almost nowhere to buy!!

The music reflects and amplifies my own subjective responses to the artworks.The movements are organised in pairs, circling out from a still centre – No Woman, No Cry. The title for this centrepiece comes from Chris Ofili’s moving portrait of Doreen Lawrence, the mother of a teenager murdered in an unprovoked racist attack. As well as this specific reference, the artist intended the painting to be read as a universal portrayal of melancholy, solace, and grief. The two segments flanking No Woman, No Cry complete the central triptych. Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks explores loneliness and isolation, while Grayson Perry’s #Lamentation is a meditation on remembrance and the transience of life. In contrast to the rest of Wynwood Walls, the music here is dark and introspective.I want my time with you is a giant neon sign designed by Tracey Emin for St. Pancras Station, London. Selfie with Sunflowers is an essay written by Julian Barnes about our over-familiarisation with Van Gogh’s iconic sunflower paintings. The music is sentimental, bordering on schmaltz and kitsch. Sunflower Seeds and Infinity Room are a pair of moto perpetuo scherzos inspired by the minimalist installations of Ai Weiwei and Yayoi Kusama respectively. The opening section, Bathers at Asnières, suggests Seurat’s iconic painting, while the finale, Seurat’s Bathers, evokes Howard Hodgkin’s reworking of the Seurat using a blaze of vivid colours.The title of the quintet is borrowed from the Wynwood art district of Miami – an area characterised by the hundreds of colourful street murals which decorate the walls of old warehouses in the neighbourhood. In performance, the artworks can be projected onto a screen behind the ensemble.Wynwood Walls s'appuient sur 9 œuvres d'art dont les titres prêtent leurs noms aux 9 sections connectées du quintette. Stand by Your Man is a song recorded by American country music artist Tammy Wynette, co-written by Wynette and Billy Sherrill. It was released on September 20, 1968, as the first single and title track from the album Stand by Your Man. It proved to be the most successful record of Wynette's career, and is one of the most familiar songs in country music. The song was placed at number one on CMT's list of the Top 100 Country Music Songs. The song received some criticism during the late 1960s-early 1970s women's liberation movement, as feminist groups deemed it to be too conservative, while, for others, the song made Wynette a spokeswoman for working-class housewives experiencing marital disappointments and changing gender roles in the late 1960s. However, Wynette herself said that she had not intended any social or political slant to it. In 1992, during a 60 Minutes interview regarding Bill Clinton's affair with Gennifer Flowers, Hillary Clinton remarked: I'm not sitting here, some little woman standing by my man like Tammy Wynette. Wynette was angered by this remark and issued a statement shortly after.

I'm waiting for the victorious one] In my mind there were initially several possible interpretations of the poem My original thoughts were that le vainqueur means the conquering Christ and that the woman is waiting all her life with flowers before a church - waiting in vain for her saviour another possibility is that the woman is waiting for the winner of her affections it could even be that le vainqueur refers to the invading German army but this would not explain the fact that she waits all her life but, finally, as Raphaèle Larazoni suggests, (and more plausibly in view of other poems by Prévert) the vainqueur is simply the winner in a war - there is never really a winner in a war, so the woman waits all her life in vain.

I have edited two ancient Mayan poems by Ah Bam about the Receiving of the Flower, that is, the wedding ceremony, and set them as a very short song for soprano and marimba. A young woman looks forward to her wedding. The first song has quartal harmony and the second is in 12-note serial. I require a 4-octave marimba, c-c4. I have assumed the marimba has a 4-octave range, c to c4. In the first section I use only four-note quartals.

In some the Fool has a Flowering Staff, which provides the impetus for the first piece, The Flowering Staff. In others the Fool has a leaping, laughing dog. The little dog was my guide for the second piece, The Laughing Dog. And sometimes the Fool is found stepping off the side of a cliff, inspiring the third piece, Beyond the Abyss. Francis Ball Is a composer, violinist, and guitarist who has performed in multiple bands, in collaborations, in orchestras, and solo projects. Francis Ball was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, and currently lives and performs in Las Vegas. His Words This collaboration began with a powerful name. I asked Mercedes to listen to and name an early piano composition I wrote. Her reply was “Beyond Her Only Dreaming.” The original composition was ultimately scrapped, but the name stuck with me. It inspired the muses whispering in my haunted ear. I wrote five musical tone poems that were loosely based on a woman’s dream. During the creative process, I asked Mercedes to listen to the tones and use her imagination to create sketches for each section. Her spoken poetry powerfully frames a woman’s dreams, fears, desires, and hope for love. They blend seamlessly with the music and are so masterfully written that they create a picture frame to use as structure but leave the canvas blank. This allows the listener to also take part in this collaboration and paint their own visions of how they experience the music. J.F.B.Her Words I’m a dreamer and writer of words, but I love music. When John asked me to name his original musical piece, I was delighted. I had recently written a story based on Robert Chamber’s famed The King in Yellow collection and, due to the sound and feel of John’s piece, loosely named the composition after my short story. John took this title and created a brilliant new musical composition. After listening to it, I was influenced to create spoken- word pieces that match the emotion of the music while also hearkening back to the original short story. The piece you’ll hear contains poetry influenced by original music inspired by a short story based on a collection written in 1895. Time is a flat circle. Along with Gustav Mahler, he represents the late flowering of German Romanticism, in which pioneering subtleties of orchestration are combined with an advanced harmonic style.Der Rosenkavalier (The Knight of the Rose or The Rose-Bearer), Op. 59, is a comic opera in three acts by Richard Strauss to an original German libretto by Hugo von Hofmannsthal. It is loosely adapted from Louvet de Couvrai's novel Les amours du chevalier de Faublas and Molière's comedy Monsieur de Pourceaugnac.In 1945 Strauss allowed an orchestral Rosenkavalier Suite to be published, but apparently was not involved in creating it. It is likely that conductor Artur Rodziński arranged it, as he conducted the suite's first performance, in October 1944 by the New York Philharmonic.The suite begins with the opera's orchestral prelude, depicting the Marschallin's and Octavian's night of passion (vividly portrayed by whooping horns and saxophones). Next comes the appearance of Octavian as the Rosenkavalier, depicted in tender music; the sight of him looking so young makes the Marschallin realise that he will soon leave her for a younger woman. There follows the duet between Octavian and Sophie – in which their love for each other becomes ever more obvious, but this is abruptly interrupted by the discordant music associated with Ochs's clumsy arrival. Next the violins tentatively introduce the first waltz, followed by another given out by the solo violin, before the whole orchestra settles into waltz mode. A general pause and a violin solo leads into the nostalgic music where the Marschallin sadly realises she has lost Octavian. Then comes its ecstatic climax. The work closes with a singularly robust waltz, depicting Ochs at his most pompous, and a boisterous coda newly composed for the suite.The PDF contains the Full Score and a full set of parts.
