When i first herd this song, for me this was painting a picture of someone who was an addict, where they seemed the life of the party , and was having such a good time, however , using to feel a certain way -whether that be normal, happy, to fit in, loved,.. how ever, addiction cripples those persons effected may truly feel lonely and empty .
I debated with myself if this is what cause i wanted to support and hopefully shed some light on, addiction and everything and every person this effects.It was the next day , i had learned a friend and former co-worker had committed suicide after a long struggle with addition. I knew then that this decision was the right one.

This piece is arranged smartly, and to be fun for your flutist group and for all audiences to enjoy as well. Great for program music, summer music , march music, early 20th century music, cake walks, reminisces music for audiences, fun to place in between "serious /stuffy pieces", or just to have fun with.
A piece that can be used for lots of occasions and events, and Holiday programs whether Flag Day, Memorial Day, July Fourth, etc.

This beloved piece, well known by many early music students, is a sweet expressive addition for your flute ensemble/ group/ choir. Simplistic enough to intermediate performers, yet complex enough to create something magical for performers and audience. A beautiful song in minor key, arranged for flutechoir by me, Ray-Michael Kauffman, a flutist and performer and arranger offlute choir/music. Since I play all flutes of the flute family, I like tothink I understand the complexities of what works and what doesn't for all fluteschoirs/ ensembles.

This arrangement gives every instrument a chance to shine, whetherplaying a solo or melody in that instrument part (from bass, alto, flutes topiccolo). This would make an amazing piece to add to your holiday performance,or singularly for church/secular or school program. scored forpiccolo, flute 1-5, alto and bass (which may also be played by contra bass).overall, it is intermediate plus but arrangement allows for less seasonedplayers to play flute 3, 4 or 5. flute 5 is not required for performance butadds extra harmony, structure and support of the arrangement. May be playedfrom a small group or larger ensemble. larger ensemble please take note inrehearsal A marking where for several measures, the higher flutes (2 and 1) arelimited in players where as not to overpower the bass flute solo.
