Le Cygne, or The Swan, is the penultimate movementof Camille Saint-Saëns? 1886 suite, Carnivalof the Animals. Most often played as a solo piece for cello with piano,the original version was scored for solo instrument and two pianos. It was the only movement for the Carnivalthat the composer allowed to be heard in public during his lifetime. Thisversion for Alto Saxophone with Pianoaccompaniment has been arranged to best suit the key and pitch of the soloinstrument. The pdf file contains both the piano accompaniment and the separatesolo part.

Musicians at an intermediate level and above willfind this ideal for formal and informal performances. The melody is expressiveand legato; the piano accompaniment is challenging in its constant semiquaverarpeggios. The overall performance time is around three minutes. The linked full-length youtube performance is the Clarinet version of this arrangement.

Teacherswill enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with expressive playing.The legato in both parts demand precise fingers.

This 1986 electronic classic by Jean-Michel Jarre is a dynamic foot tapper and students will love being transported back to the 80's. Arranged as a beginner duet for piano in traditional notation with an optional drum kit part. Great for school ensemble work and adaptable for any four hands on keyboards or synthesizers (especially useful when an ensemble is required for 4 fairly easy single hand keyboard parts, plus drums). It would also work as a full percussion ensemble with 3/4 tuned parts and drums. To be printed portrait on A4. Pdf includes full score, primo/secondo parts and drum kit part (11 pages in total).

Originally for piano and orchestra, I have carefully arranged the beautiful romantic themes of this piece for solo piano. I have combined the orchestral textures with the piano solo to bring them together as a cohesive piece. There is no stretches greater than an octave, and the part is heavily reduced from the original-but the piece still falls into advanced intermediate as I have kept the passion (just less notes!) Each section could easily be used as a separate piece.
The full score is 11 pages and it is nearly10 minutes long- for full suitability on level of difficulty, the youtube link provide the full score- I wanted to give opportunities for pianists to play an easier version of this fabulous piece. I made the recording live on a digital piano, with technology to enhance.
Great for valentine's day, weddings, anniversaries, romantic events, it's a firm favourite with lots of people as the themes are so memorable- just fantastic to play.

While some duets are more challenging than others, the notation hasusually been kept as simple as possible and musical elements such as dynamics,articulations, phrasing and slurs have been omitted completely. In the Secondo part, chordsare printed underneath the staff (rather than above) to create space for thefingering suggestions.
