Brass Quintet Baritone Horn TC,Cornet,Euphonium,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1465676 By Rita Arendz. By Philip Bliss. Arranged by Rita Arendz. 19th Century,Christian,Praise & Worship,Sacred. 21 pages. Rita Arendz #1044288. Published by Rita Arendz (A0.1465676). For over 150 years, this song, a testament to the enduring power of music, has not only been a significant part of Philip Paul Bliss's repertoire but has also endeared many to Christian Fellowship, creating a shared history and connection among its listeners.Hymnist Horatio Gates Spafford wrote the text after three traumatic events. The first was the passing of his four-year-old son of Scarlet Fever in 1870 - the following year, the Great Chicago Fire (1871), which led to financial ruin. The third was the sinking of the SS Ville du Havre (1873), on which his four daughters lost their lives; his wife survived. This setting portrays life's unexpected challenges and joys. Its peaceful yet sombre tonality is maintained while flowing between the predominantly Major key and a Dominant 7th on its Minor 6th.Written in the key of Bb Major, it is in a comfortable key, and instrumental leads and harmonies differ for each verse and chorus.Instrumentation is for British Brass Band instruments of Cornet, Eb Tenor Horn, Baritone, and Eb Bass. F Horn and Bass Clef parts for Baritone and Eb Bass are included.Duration 3:40 mins 21 pagesSound clip generated by NoteperformerMore arrangements by Rita Arendz:https://www.sheetmusicdirect.com/Search.aspx?query=rita%20arendzhttps://www.sheetmusicplus.com/en/explore?q=rita+arendz&lang=default.

When Peace Like a River (It is Well with My Soul / All is Well) - Clarinet Quartet

Clarinet Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Bass Clarinet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.937294 Composed by Horatio Spafford, Philip Bliss. Arranged by Hugh Levey. Praise & Worship,Sacred. 19 pages. Woodwindly.com #6529745. Published by woodwindly.com (A0.937294). Clarinet Quartet - 3 x Bb Clarinets and Bass Clarinet The words of this hymn were inspired by a series of tragedies in the life of hymn writer, Horatio Spafford. He lost his 4 year old son in a Chicago fire in 1871 and two years later he lost all 4 of his daughters when the ship, SS Ville du Havre, sank while they were travelling from the USA to England. Only his wife survived the journey. He wrote these words while he travelled alone to meet his grieving wife shortly afterwards. The hymn was first published in 1876, set to a tune by Philip Bliss which is still known as Ville du Havre. It exists in versions with either 4 or 5 verses. This arrangement for clarinet quartet consists of 5 verses, each with slightly altered harmonisation or articulation, to suit the words. For example in verse 3 the words Nailed to the Cross are accompanied by accented stabbing chords. Verse 5 has some trumpet-like fanfares to match the reference to the Trump[et] Calls in the text. The words to the hymn are shown in the score and in the first clarinet part, so the arrangement can be used in a worship setting. Verses can be omitted to suit your liturgical needs. Similarly, if the arrangement is used for an instrumental performance, verses can be omitted as required. Duration: 5’ to 5’30 Â

Jazz Minuet in G Major (for British Style Brass Band)

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1026133 Composed by Christian P…

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1026133 Composed by Christian Petzold (1677-1733). Arranged by Richard Jones. Baroque,Contemporary,Jazz. Score and parts. 52 pages. Richard Jones #5968417. Published by Richard Jones (A0.1026133). Until the 1970s the Minuet in G Major was attributed to the great Johann Sebastian Bach. For centuries musicologists believed it was an original composition as it was a part of the manuscript notebook compiled by Bach and his wife Anna Magdalena Bach, in 1725.Petzold was born in Konigstein, Germany, in 1677 and little is known about his exact birth date. Relatively few pieces ofhis have survived the centuries, but the inclusion of his two minuets in the Anna Magdalena Notebook, remain the most famous of these. The theme to the Minuet in G was used in 1966 by the American pop group The Toys, in their song 'A Lover's Concerto'.In this arrangement I have syncopated the theme and accompanying parts to create a jazz feel. From letter A the theme appears in the cornet and euphonium lines and then at letter B the theme is transferred to the horn section. Whilst the theme is in the horn section there is a counter riff in the baritones and trombones, and a simple jazz syncopation in the cornets. At C the key changes to the sub-dominant key of C and the back row cornets get the tune in a simple but syncopated form whilst a flowing counter melody continues in the lower instruments. Then at D the euphoniums, baritones and basses have their chance and the syncopation appears in the horns and interjections in the cornets. After the D.S the the piece goes to the Coda, which hasthe tune split between each of the sections of the band with a fortissimo climax.

Alto Recorder,Bass Recorder,Soprano Recorder,Tenor Recorder - Level 2 - Digital Download

Alto Recorder,Bass Recorder,Soprano Recorder,Tenor Recorder - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1137832 Composed by Christian Petzold, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Martin Luther. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Easter,Renaissance,Sacred,Wedding. Recorder Ensemble. 44 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #738086. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1137832). This album contains 5 of Johann Sebastian Bach's most famous and versatile pieces for recorder quartet, all very well suited for the beginners who want to get to know the baroque repertoire. They are also suitable for performances at events such as: weddings, Christian and church ceremonies, Easter, and academic recitals or concerts. They can be used in music institutions and by teachers as repertoire material and study methods, either for performance or instrumental technique. This collection includes a totally free bonus for you to enjoy: Martin Luther's A Mighty Fortress is Our God, a Renaissance sacred song for choir, which has been adapted for this set. 1: Air on the G String - The original piece is part of Johann Sebastian Bach's Suite No. 3 for orchestra, in D Major, BWV 1068, written for Prince Leopold of Anhalt. The so-called Air on the G String dates from one of these latter employments. In the service of the Prince of Cöthen, Bach composed not only the famous Brandenburg Concertos, but also several orchestral suites, from the third of which comes the Air on the G String. This curious title derives from a later arrangement of this piece for violin solo, in which the melody is played entirely on the lower, higher string of the instrument. 2: Arioso - The Cantata 156 (BWV 156) was written for the third Sunday after Epiphany in 1729, and was first performed on January 23 of that year. The text is by Picander, one of Bach's favorite librettists. Of the four cantatas written by Bach for the feast, it was the last and only one scored for solo voice. This is a choral cantata, employing a choral melody in several movements. Cantata 156, in fact, employs two different choral melodies and texts in the second and sixth movements. A cantata is a sung symphony consisting of several parts, one of which is the Arioso, which is the initial instrumental part. 3: Jesu, joy of man's desiring - This is one of Bach's most beautiful cantatas, made famous by the Jesus the Joy of Men chorus. It was originally composed for Advent 1716 in Weimar. Years later, already in Leipzig, Advent was tempus clausum, there was no music in the churches. Bach then reworked it for the Feast of Mary's Visitation. It is the final chorale of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. Although it is the 32nd cantata composed by Bach, of those that have survived, it was given BWV 147 in the complete catalog of his works. 4: O Jesulein süss, o Jesulein mild - The Jesulein süß, the Jesulein mild is an original traditional German choral melody for voice and continuous bass arranged by Johann Sebastian Bach around 1735. With lyrics by Valentin Thilo, O Jesulein süss is a sacred melody adapted and catalogued as BWV 493. The first translation is by Dirk van Hogendorp, who made it more of a song for the time of suffering. 5: Minuet in G major - This famous piece has traditionally been attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, as it appears in the Notebook for Anna Magdalena , a notebook that Bach gave to his wife Anna Magdalena in 1725 and which was to be filled with the favorite selections of Bach family members. However, recent research has concluded that this minuet, sometimes referred to as BWV Anhang 114. was probably composed by Christian Petzold, a German composer and organist contemporary with Bach. Bonus: A Mighty Fortress is Our God, by Martin Luther - Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott is a hymn written by Martin Luther probably before 1529. The melody was also considered his work for a long time, but it was created at least with the collaboration of Johann Walter. The song is of great symbolic power for Protestantism, where it is also known as Deus noster refugium et virtus. Considered one of the most important hymns in the history of Christianity, it was considered by the Christian poet Johann Heirich Heine (1797-1856) to be the Marseillaise of the Reformation, in an allusion to the French national anthem.

This album contains 5 of Johann Sebastian Bach's most famous and versatile pieces for bassoon trio, all very well suited for the beginners who want to get to know the baroque repertoire.

Saxophone Trio,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1138518 Composed by Christian Petzold, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Martin Luther. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Easter,Renaissance,Sacred,Wedding. 38 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #738859. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1138518). This album contains 5 of Johann Sebastian Bach's most famous and versatile pieces for sax trio, all very well suited for the beginners who want to get to know the baroque repertoire.

Choral Choir (TTBB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.928976 Composed by Philip Bliss, music and Horatio G. Spafford, and words. Arranged by Donald A. Mills. A Cappella,Christian,Concert,Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 3 pages. Donald A Mills #4718759. Published by Donald A Mills (A0.928976). From Wikipedia: This arrangement is for a ttbb chorus, a cappella. It would require a chorus of middle to high capability. It's a ballad appropriate for religious services and concert. This hymn was written after traumatic events in Spafford's life. The first was the 1871 Great Chicago Fire, which ruined him financially (he had been a successful lawyer and had invested significantly in property in the area of Chicago that was extensively damaged by the great fire). His business interests were further hit by the economic downturn of 1873, at which time he had planned to travel to Europe with his family on the SS Ville du Havre. In a late change of plan, he sent the family ahead while he was delayed on business concerning zoning problems following the Great Chicago Fire. While crossing the Atlantic, the ship sank rapidly after a collision with a sea vessel, the Loch Earn, and all four of Spafford's daughters died. His wife Anna survived and sent him the now famous telegram, Saved alone …. Shortly afterwards, as Spafford traveled to meet his grieving wife, he was inspired to write these words as his ship passed near where his daughters had died.

After the recent Chicago fire, he thought his family could use a little rest and relaxation, and sent them on a ship headed for Europe. He was a modern day Job; a devout Christian and a prominent Chicago lawyer, who one day heard that his four daughters had lost their lives in a ship wreck on this vacation trip to Europe. Only his wife had survived. This calamity did not shake his faith in his loving Heavenly Father, as he wrote this classic song. This arrangement is for 4 part male harmony (TTBB) a cappella. .

ID: S0.11901155: Minuet in G major - This famous piece has traditionally been attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, as it appears in the Notebook for Anna Magdalena , a notebook that Bach gave to his wife Anna Magdalena in 1725 and which was to be filled with the favorite selections of Bach family members. However, recent research has concluded that this minuet, sometimes referred to as BWV Anhang 114. was probably composed by Christian Petzold, a German composer and organist contemporary with Bach. You can also buy each one individually by checking right at the end of each description of each work.1: Air on the G String - The original piece is part of Johann Sebastian Bach's Suite No. ID: S0.11896992: Arioso - The Cantata 156 (BWV 156) was written for the third Sunday after Epiphany in 1729, and was first performed on January 23 of that year. ID: S0.11898993: Jesu, joy of man's desiring - This is one of Bach's most beautiful cantatas, made famous by the Jesus the Joy of Men chorus. ID: S0.11900074: O Jesulein süss, o Jesulein mild - The Jesulein süß, the Jesulein mild is an original traditional German choral melody for voice and continuous bass arranged by Johann Sebastian Bach around 1735. With lyrics by Valentin Thilo, O Jesulein süss is a sacred melody adapted and catalogued as BWV 493. The first translation is by Dirk van Hogendorp, who made it more of a song for the time of suffering.
