Piano Trio in g minor op. 8-Fr?d?ric Chopin composed his piano trio when he was an 18-year-old student. About the performance of the trio on 31 August 1830 he wrote: ???On Sunday we rehearsed the trio. Perhaps because I haven???t heard it for awhile I was very happy with myself (fortunate man!).??? Incidentally Robert Schumann also shared this opinion writing in a review: ???Is it not as noble as possible more full of enthusiasm than any song ever written by apoet original in the smallest detail as in the whole every note music and life'??? We agree with this verdict and recommend this trio in our new Urtext edition to all lovers of highly romantic chamber music.

Par SIBELIUS JEAN. Five multi-movement trios for piano and two string instruments by Sibelius are known from the years 1883?1888. The ?large? trios, such as the HavtrƤsk and Korpo Trio (JS 207, JS 209), were written for the classical piano trio scoring of violin, violoncello and piano. Apparently, Sibelius kept composing trios to play among his family and friends, having in mind to be one of the musicians himself. Chamber music was an essential part of social life. When listening to Sibelius? trios, one cannot help but notice that the repertoire included many works of Viennese Classicism. (Lonely Angel). Par VASKS PETERIS. For my Meditation for violin and string orchestra Lonely Angel, I was guided by the following vision: An angel hovers over the world, contemplating the state of the battered Earth with tears in his eyes. But an almost imperceptible, loving touch with his wings brings comfort and healing. This piece is a response to the pain. The solo part of the violin lends a sonorous voice to the lonely angel who tirelessly watches over the Earth. The version for piano trio was composed at the suggestion of the Trio Palladio.
