This fantastic, stirring fanfare was written with the composer?s wish that the young musicians performing it would fly into the bright future like pheasants. The first part of the piece is a fanfare, which is suitable for opening ceremonies, and the second part is a lush chorale-like movement. Your band can perform both parts together or you could perform each one separately. This short opening work will start any concert in real style.

Een Japans ritmepatroon komt in de eerste vier maten naar voren in het slagwerk. Het centrale deel bevatsolo's voor xylofoon en piccolo, die in de smaak zullen vallen bij uw publiek, zeker wanneer de solisten al improviserend een aantal technische staaltjes laten horen. This Latin mass for choir and wind band was composed in honour of Saint Cecilia’s feast day, Saint Cecilia being the patroness of musicians. For this reason, many ensembles have annual concerts dedicated to Saint Cecila, which was the inspiration forthis piece. It is a festive, optimistic, but also comforting work, which in style perfectly suits the character of Saint Cecilia’s Feast Day. After Missa Brevis, Missa Katharina and The Gospel Mass, Missa Santa Cecilia isthe fourth published mass by the Dutch composer Jacob de Haan.
