Triptych in honorem Gustav Willscher (2017) is dedicated to Andreas Willscher in celebration of the writing of his Troppauer Musiklexicon. Gustav Willscher (born 1882 in Meltsch bei Troppau/Sudentenschleisen and died 1937 in Vienna) was in his time a very successful poet, writer, and composer. In addition to his musical talents (he played several instruments, among others the piano and guitar), he also created a collection of drawings. He was the grandfather of composer and organist Andreas Willscher. The outer movements, Silesian Prelude and Troppauer Postlude, refer to his cultural heritage, and each quote a musical theme by Gustav Willscher. The second movement, Minuet, refers obliquely to Vienna, the city in which Willscher died. Instrumentation: Organ Duration: 10' Composed: 2017 Published by: Zimbel Press.

Today, more than ever, Gustav Mahler is highly acclaimed as a 'pioneer of new music'. Unlike any other composer in the late 19th century, he meteorically became the focus of attention of the musical public. Mahler's music is an adventure, as beautiful and frightening, as peaceful and unpredictable as the world of which it is about. During his lifetime, Gustav Mahler was known rather as a powerful court opera director and less as a composer, for he could compose his own works only during the summer months. But as such, Mahler had to compete with his fellow composers Anton Bruckner and Richard Strauss. In his newly edited book, Karl-Josef Muller tries to examine this discrepancy between Mahler's high ethical demands as a composer and his qualification by his environment.

One of Holst's most under-appreciated works, Ode To Death (Op. 38) was written in 1919 in response to the First World War, and mourned his friends who had died in that conflict. Scored for SATB Chorus and Orchestra, it is a setting of the elegiac poem When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom'd by Walt Whitman.
