They are ideally suited for mass and organ lessons.This organ volume brings together twelve compositions Rheinberger wrote for different occasions and at various points during his career. Included in the collection are seven short pieces in different keys that date from the early 1860s. Rheinberger wrote these at the request of his teacher Herzog and others for several organ collections of “easy, performable†pieces – and they are rewarding pieces for liturgical use. The works without opus numbers (WoO 10, 37, 56, 70) can no longer be regarded as early works. The Fugue in F minor WoO 10 of 1867, with its tendency to translate counterpoint into expressive chordal writing, already displays many characteristics of the late Rheinberger, the Canzonetta WoO 77 is a late work from autumn 1899, whereas the Romanze WoO 70 is a second version of no. 1 of the Miscellaneen op. 174 in the easier to play key of C major.Separate edition from Supplementary Volume 3 of the Rheinberger Complete Edition.

Scherzo For Organ was first published in 1917. It is dedicated to John Connell, a South African organist and Organ builder, with whom the composer became great friends when he travelled to Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Alfred Hollins (1865-1942) was an inspirational British organist, composer and teacher. Blind from birth, he travelled all over the UK and the British Empire, giving concerts and designing Organs. He eventually settled in Scotland, where he was an organist in Edinburgh for over forty years

Grief, Solace, and Trust The 10-lieder cycle, Biblical Songs op. 99, was composed in the spring of 1894 in New York City, where Antonin Dvorak lived for nearly two years. Homesickness and sad news of the death of composer friends, together with his own father's poor state of health, may have prompted Dvorak to choose the intimate form and religious subject. All of the cycle's texts derive from the Book of Psalms in the Old Testament. Klaus Uwe Ludwig's moving organ arrangement, close to the original, is based on the Dvorak Complete Edition. In translating the text from Czech to German, Ludwig respected to the utmost the content and speech rhythms paramount in the original.
