The Christmas Song, geschreven door Mel Tormé en Robert Wells op een hete zomerdag in 1946, is een beroemde en tijdloze kerstsong. De tekst beschrijft een warme kerstsfeer met ‘Chestnuts roasting on an open fire’ en ‘Jack Frostnipping at your nose’. Nat King Cole maakte de eerste opname in 1947 en de song werd meteen een kerstklassieker - die niet op uw populaire kerstprogramma mag ontbreken!

The Christmas Song, der seltsamerweise an einem heißen Sommertag des Jahres 1946 komponiert wurde, ist ein Evergreen unter den Weihnachtsliedern. Der Text beschreibt sehr anschaulich Maronen, die über einem offenen Feuer rösten und Väterchen Frost, der dich in die Nase zwickt. Die erste Aufnahme des Liedes stammt von Nat King Cole aus dem Jahr 1947. Lorenzo Bocci machte den Klassiker nun auch Blasorchestern zugänglich.

Written in the key of D minor, this one is true to the dramatic Argentinian dance form for which it's named. It consists of two distinct themes-the first legato, the second marcato-with strong rhythms and dynamic contrasts. Both upper and lower strings carry lead material, the tempo is very reasonable, and every set includes optional parts for piano and percussion.
