This set of two related pieces was originally written for solo cello and takes its title from the poem Man of Assynt by Norman MacCaig. It was written for Robert Irvine as part of his UNICEF solo cello project in 2015, and was premiered by him on 22nd October 2016 in Migvie Church, Aberdeen.A Litany requires a tuning-fork, preferably one with tubular limbs rather than those with square edges. The player is required to change from arco to the tuning-fork and back, a transition covered by l.h. pizz. open strings, which can be repeated ad lib. during the change. For the tuning-fork tremolo passages, the two prongs of the fork are scissors either side of the portion of string. The most even tremolo is needed. This product is Printed on Demand and may take several weeks to fulfill. Please order from your favorite retailer.

Due to the success of our Instrumental Fingering Posters, we thought it would be helpful to create a smaller version that could be tucked comfortably into any method book as a reference guide. Unbeknownst to us after days of research, we were left with countless questions, much confusion, and a slew of poorly crafted images from contradicting publications. Chorale settings form a central part of Telemann's oeuvre. His 1754 setting of the church hymn Christus, der ist mein Leben, based on Melchoir Vulpius' melody from the Hamburg Hymnal, is especially well-suited to display his mastery in depicting the words of the chorale. The so-called Ausfullungsbass (a vocal bass added to the principal bass in tutti passages) was probably necessitated by the acoustical properties of Hamburg's churches. This is the first Urtext edition of this highly successful chorale setting which is based on Georg Philipp Telemann Musical Works. The score contains a realisation of the continuo part.* First Urtext edition based on Georg Philipp Telemann Musical Works* An attractive addition to the repertoire with a view to the Telemann Year 2017* Bilingual Foreword (Ger/Eng)* Uncluttered idiomatic piano reduction.

With the edition of the Christmas Oratorio within the framework of the Stuttgart Bach Editions, Carus presents a scholarly edition for practical performance. The basis for this publication are Bach's autograph score and the original parts. The conducting score contains an appendix with a concise Critical Report which provides information about the sources and their readings; when necessary, the latter are discussed in more detail, especially with regard to how the editor arrived at solutions for questions of articulation which differ from those found in previous editions. The representative, clothbound volume is supplemented by a study score as well as a choral score, a vocal score and complete orchestral material. In the orchestral material short excerpts containing the conclusions of the secco recitatives are rendered with cue notes in separate vocal systems printed above the score where the instrumentalists pause, thus enabling them make their entrances in the movements which follow these recitatives. This work is also available in carus music, the choir app! Score and part available separately - see item CA.3124800.
