Kaseko is an original style of music from Surinam. An unnamed Kaseko melody from the collection of Ronald Snijders is the starting point for Kaseko Fever. In his collection the piece was given the number A50, which nitially was also the title. The swinging melody was the arranger’s inspiration to produce this fantasy; the imaginative part of the conga drum is the driving force.

Kaseko is een uit Suriname afkomstige muziekstijl. Een naamloze kaseko-melodie uit de verzameling van Ronald Snijders is het uitgangspunt voor Kaseko Fever. In de betreffende verzameling kreeg dit stuk het nummer A50, dat aanvankelijkook de titel was. De swingende melodie inspireerde de arrangeur tot het maken van deze fantasie, de originele congapartij is hierin de drijvende kracht.

Kaseko ist ein originaler Musikstil, der seinen Ursprung in Surinam hat. Eine Kaseko-Melodie (anonymer Herkunft) aus der Sammlung von Ronald Snijders bildet den Ausgangspunkt zu Kaseko Fever. In der Sammlung wurde dem Stück die Nummer A50 gegeben, was zuerst auch als Titel diente. Die schwungvolle Melodie inspirierte den Komponisten zu dieser Fantasie. Treibende Kraft in diesem Stück für Akkordeonorchester ist die originelle Conga-Stimme.

Le kaseko est un style de musique traditionnelle originaire du Surinam. Kaseko Fever est basé sur une mélodie kaseko anonyme, extraite d’un recueil de Ronald Snijders (pionnier du style), et intitulée l’origine A50. Le caractère dansant de la mélodie a séduit l’arrangeur qui s’en est inspiré pour la réalisation de cette fantaisie. L’originalité des rythmes des congas est la force motrice du développement de l’œuvre.
