Hymn preludes and choral arrangements by Bendt Fabricus (2018). Foreword: This small collection of preludes and choral arrangements is a selection of movements, created through more than 30 years of work as an organist in the Danish National Church. The collectionis first and foremost intended as a useful work tool for all my colleagues around the Danish organ benches. There are movements thatare suitable for the small one-manual organ in the village church and others that are intended for the concert organ in the large city church. Some movements are easy to follow, even with a simple and traditionally constructed structure, while others, both harmonious and rhythmic, offer greater complexity and degree of difficulty. Virtually all the kits composed for two manuals and pedal can also be realized on organs that have only one manual and pedal. As far as registration instructions are concerned, my statements are only intended as a guide to the sonorous expression in a given movement, as of course everyone is free to find exactly the registration that is deemed appropriate on the instrument in question. The present edition is based on the music text of the ,,Gesamtausgabe of Robert Schumann's works edited by Clara Schumann together with Johannes Brahms and others between 1879 und 1893. This publication is almost entirely free from arbitrary alterations in the text. A few obvious errors and unjustifiable alterations of the musical text were eliminated after a thorough comparison with the first editions. Die vorliegende Ausgabe folgt dem Notentext der von Clara Schumann in Zusammenarbeit mit Johannes Brahms u. a. zwischen 1879 und 1893 herausgegebenen Gesamtausgabe von Robert Schumanns Werken. Matthias Weckmann, born in Niederdorla near Muhlhausen (Thuringia) in 1616 and died in Hamburg in 1674, was trained as a musician by Heinrich Schutz in Dresden among others. He worked as an organist in Dresden (Schlosskirche) and Hamburg (St. Jakobi). It is particularly for the Jakobi organ that he wrote his elaborate and virtuoso organ works. Our new edition in the renowned series 'Masters of the North German Organ School' faithfully transfers the works which survived in letter tablature, providing a reliably edited urtext. Volume 1 contains the cantus firmus-based works, 8 authentic verse cycles with 2-7 movements each in which chorale melodies such as 'Es ist das Heil uns kommen her', 'Gelobet seist du, Jesu Christ)' or the 'Magnificat' are varied, as well as a cycle on 'Ach wir armen Sunder' attributed to Weckmann. Written for upper-advanced organ players, Three Preludes and Fugues is a work by Marcel Dupre. Dedicated to Rene Vierne, this Op. 7 uses complex figurations and pedals. With such challenging difficulty, the first and third preludes were pronounced?unplayable by Charles-Marie Widor due to their fast tempo, their figurations and the pedal chords. For a long time, Dupre himself was the only one able to play them. Marcel Dupre is a French organist who reviewed some works by J. S. Bach, including The little Organ Book. He composed numerous pieces such as Lamento, Scherzo and Titelooze Tombstone, among others.

The composer, organist, music teacher and pianist Rolande Falcinelli (1920-2006) studied composition with Henri Busser, among others, as well as organ with Gaston Litaize and Marcel Dupre. In 1941 she won the Prix Rossini. Almost 30 years later she worked as a titular organist at the Basilique Sacre-Coeur in Paris. Furthermore, she taught organ, and eventually headed the organ class at the Paris Conservatoire. Among her numerous successful students were Odile Pierre, Daniel Roth, Naji Hakim, Marie-Bernadette Dufourcet, and Pierre Pincemaille.

Triptych in honorem Gustav Willscher (2017) is dedicated to Andreas Willscher in celebration of the writing of his Troppauer Musiklexicon. Gustav Willscher (born 1882 in Meltsch bei Troppau/Sudentenschleisen and died 1937 in Vienna) was in his time a very successful poet, writer, and composer. In addition to his musical talents (he played several instruments, among others the piano and guitar), he also created a collection of drawings. He was the grandfather of composer and organist Andreas Willscher. The outer movements, Silesian Prelude and Troppauer Postlude, refer to his cultural heritage, and each quote a musical theme by Gustav Willscher. The first piece, ?Variations sur un theme de Clement Jannequin (Variations on a Clement Jannequin's Tune), should be played?in the same way as Couperin's Preludes: freshly and softly. It contains four distinctive parts: Affetuoso, Maggiore, Fuggato and Grave. The second piece is called ?Le jardin suspendu (The hanging garden) and features three different parts that can't be played separately. The last piece, Litanies, is quite religious and consists of the repetition of lamentations. Its introduction in vivo is played only by the right hand, then followed by a?Lirico ma sempre vivo part. These are followed by switches between the main tempo and some vivacissimo parts, sounding declamatory. This third piece ends really harmoniously.
