This classic Clarence Williams composition was written at the very beginning of the Jazz Age and speaks in the Count Basie language. An 8 measure written piano solo feeds into a quiet full ensemble melody with brass in bucket mutes. (Open in stand will do) Well placed unisons and ensemble writing leads to a 16 bar tenor sax solo (suggested written solo is provided) then builds to a final full ensemble shout chorus a minor third higher. Includes an optional flute part. The unique surprise ending will treat the audience and band to a few happy moments. Hint: (Opt. one bar vocal ending).

This tenor sax feature requires the background volume to stay comfortable under the soloist. Save the volume for measure 28, and also the big build up at measure 49 to make for an interesting ending. Rhythm section parts are partially notated with chords cued.
