Score and Parts Clarinet; Piano; Viola (Score & Parts) SKU: HL.49045889 <...(+)
Score and Parts Clarinet; Piano; Viola (Score & Parts) SKU: HL.49045889 Five pieces in fairy-tale style for Clarinet, Viola and Piano Score and Parts. Composed by Joerg Widmann. Ensemble. Classical. Softcover. 120 pages. Duration 1740 seconds. Schott Music #ED22487. Published by Schott Music (HL.49045889). 9.0x12.0x0.33 inches. As far back as I can remember, I have always been fascinated with fairy tales: with their archetypal characters and set phrases like'Once upon a time...'and'...they all lived happily ever after'. Fairy tales were however also a source of unrest for me as a seismograph of mankinds underlying primal fears and desires. So as a performer and composer I have always felt that Robert Schumann's Marchenerzahlungen [Fairy Tales] (scored for the same instrumentation as my own composition) was a disjointed, complex contemporary work - despite the innocence and naivety of its initial appearance. I therefore do not intend my own Es war einmal (Once upon a time...)to be a mere sentimental, nostalgic flight into the distant past, but as a naive and fantastical alternative concept to our genuine world with all its upheavals. Bozena Nemtsova is one of the foremost Czech authors of the 19th century and among the greatest storytellers, with her treasure trove of fairy tales. Her stories also enjoy great popularity in Russia: The Twelve Months translated by Nikolai Leskov, provides the basis for Rodion Shchedrin's opera, A Christmas Tale. With traces of familiar fairy tales such as Cinderella and Snow White, the story tells of a beautiful, hardworking but unloved stepdaughter and her search for a violet in the snow. Piano Accompaniment, Viola (Score and Solo Part) - intermediate to advanced SKU: HL.49046045 Viola and Piano. Composed by Robert Schumann. Edited by Armin Koch. This edition: Saddle stitching. Sheet music. String Solo. Classical. Softcover. Composed 1851. Op. 113. 40 pages. Schott Music #VAB93. Published by Schott Music (HL.49046045). ISBN 9790001165242. UPC: 841886031623. 9x12 inches. In the summer of 1852, Vier Stücke ['Four Pieces'] for viola and piano by Robert Schumann were published under the title Märchenbilder ['Fairy-Tale Pictures'] by the Kassel publishing house Luckhardt, with a particularly expressive vignette on the titlepage. Unusual were both this title Märchenbilder, on the one hand, and the scoring with a solo viola, on the other. With the viola in a soloistic role in chamber music, Schumann's Märchenbilder, Op. 113, offers a rather unfamiliar, but all the more delightful sound. $19.99 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 24 hours - In Stock

Edited by Christian Martin Schmidt. Orchestra; Folder. Orchester-Bibliothek (Orchestral Library). Overture; Romantic. Set of parts. 50 pages. Duration 12'. Breitkopf and Haertel #OB 5505-30. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel (BR.OB-5505-30). ISBN 9790004337806. 10 x 12.5 inches. A visit to the opera whetted the composers creative appetite to explore the fairy-tale-like theme of Knight Raimunds love for the beautiful mermaid Melusine, which provided the basis for Mendelssohns fourth concert overture. As usual, Mendelssohn worked out the composition in his mind before committing it to paper, a task he most likely began towards the end of March 1833. The works premiere performance took place in London on 7 April 1834; the revised version was given its first account in Leipzig on 23 November 1835. Its ranking as No. 4 of the concert overtures was assigned around 1857 in a posthumous edition.(Ralf Wehner in the Study Edition of the Mendelssohn Work Catalogue). $65.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks
