“My Lord! What a Morning” follows the tradition of spirituals by opening with a soulful chorus expressing deep sentiment. Spirituals are popular with audiences for one simple reason: they are direct in emotional and textual appeal. Such is the case with Richard Lakey's arrangement of My Lord What a Mornin'.
