The Afferentur regi is an early work by Bruckner from 1861, which he dedicated more than 20 years later to the choir director of the Linz Cathedral, J.B. Burgstaller. The text corresponds to both the Offertorium and the Graduale of the Missa pro Virgine et Martyre. The present edition contains an organ excerpt which can be used instead of the three trombones. Score and part available separately - see item CA.4014200.

The new edition is based on the traditional piano score by the composer and organist Ernst Friedrich Richter (1845), published by Breitkopf & Hartel Leipzig. The publisher commissioned Richter in accordance with Mendelssohn. The new edition brought the Richter score into line as much as possible (including specific dynamics and articulation marks) with the score of the Leipzig Mendelssohn Edition (ed. by Christian Martin Schmidt), along with the performance material derived from it. Richter's piano score was critically examined by Hellmut Dohnert, who made emendations wherever there were subtantial discrepancies in the score.

Ton Koopman's new edition of all 16 organ concertos by Handel has drawn to a close. The quality of this edition has been highly praised from all quarters. Source-critical responsibility goes hand in hand with a high level of performance practice when Koopman provides interpretative tips for the ad libitum passages in the organ part without restricting the creativity of the interpreter who is interested in stylistic matters and prefers to work out his own solutions. The popular Concerto Op. 4 No. 6 in B flat major was originally a harp concerto (and is thus called Concerto per la Harpa in the autograph) and was performed in this version at its premiere in 1736, when it was inserted into Handel's oratorio Alexander's Feast in order to illustrate the harp playing of the Greek singer Timotheus. A harp edition is also in preparation.I want to make an edition that is not a Koopman interpretation, but contains only that which Handel really wrote. Nevertheless, there are occasional performance suggestions in small print which are elucidated in the Critical Commentary. (Ton Koopman in Concerto) Koopman offers a basically unmarked text, thus leaving the performance details up to the performer. Especially note-worthy is the clear printing, extensive preface and detailed Critical Notes. (Katholische Kirchenmusik)Whoever wishes to hear the entire Koopman edition on CD can look forward to the new recording by Christian Schmitt and the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester (Brilliant Classics). This is the first recording for which all 16 new Koopman editions were used as the basis for the performance.

In this ambitious series, Bryan Johanson and Jesse McCann seek to address this missing element in the study of classical guitar. In light of the sheer volume of guitar music written over the centuries, not to men- tion early works by the guitarâs plucked-string relatives, the authorsâ choices were by necessity limited to a select group of standards. These might be considered among the most popular works in the guitar canon, admired over the years by performers, students, and audiences alike for their beauty, musical expression, and idiomatic sonority. There are, of course, other pieces that could have been included. But by choosing works that give a broad survey of styles across musical periods (Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and early 20th century) written by some of the guitarâs most important composers, the authors present a com- prehensive cross-section of the essential repertoire for the instrument.- William KanengiserDans cette série ambitieuse, Bryan Johanson et Jesse McCann cherchent à aborder cet élément manquant dans l'étude de la guitare classique.

In spite of having written many works including piano, before composing my new suite of pieces there were only two for solo piano: The Haunting Bough and Pleasure Ground. I decided to incorporate these in a new set of pieces extending the theme of trees and wood (I cut The Haunting Bough into two pieces which frame the suite as the first and last movements; Pleasure Ground is renamed SwingingBough), and further developing my interest in the poetry, history and appearance of landscape and its features as extra-musical sources. Prelude and Fugue in C BWV is taken from the Eight Short Preludes and Fugues, a collection of works for keyboard that were most likely used as teaching pieces for beginners. There has been back and forth about the attribution of these works, but most scholars agree that they are by Bach, just simplified for his students. Matthew McCrady has beautifully arranged this 4-5 minute work for Brass Quintet and included parts in C and B-flat for the Trumpets.

“May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.†– Edward Abbey Notes from the Road was commissioned to Franco Cesarini by the music Federation of the Canton of Thurgau, Switzerland, as compulsorypiece for the second category of the Canton Festival in 2023. The piece is written in the typical form of an Italian overture, with the sequence of veloce-lento-veloce tempi. Reflections on life and the street as its metaphor were the driving elements in composing this piece. The way represents a symbol characteristic to many cultures, so much so that the verb “to walk†or the word “path†indicate a way of being in life and of fulfilling oneself. “Making one's way†means affirming oneself; “Having a way†indicates one's own and personal approach. The road is the most beautiful metaphor of life: there is a departure, a destination, and in the middle lies a path that is sometimes winding, with challenges to overcome and directions to take. An introspective piece, an invitation to each of us to reflect on our own “pathâ€.
